When attending a wedding, what is the best wedding favor you have ever received and why?
I am planning my wedding and haven't found any really great ideas for favors. I don't want the favor to be themed (i.e., honey for a countryside wedding, salt for beach wedding); I would rather just have something for the guest that everyone can enjoy and is really cool.

- Good morning. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding. The favor I liked the best was a miniature wedding cake in a pretty box with a ribbon. I will think about this...If I remember more, will come back. Edit: These are very nice, you could put small "goodie" in each box. Happy New Year All
- Honestly, the best favor I received was when the couple made a donation to the Fox Chase Cancer Center in our honor. It was a donation that was meaningful to them, and I'm sure almost everyone who attended. A favorite charity probably needs the donation more than we need our little bells or scoops or whatever! :)
- I've gotten some cool favors. A friend gave a packets of sunflower seeds in small flowerpots. We grew the seeds and got beautiful sunflowers. If you want to spend some $$$, you can get personalized champagne/wine bottles. Also, one of my friends made mixed CD's of the new couples favorite songs and songs from the wedding. They printed out a personalized CD covers.
- Candy is always a good favor... Little boxes with some of your favor candies in it, some cute tag with your names and date and a pretty ribbon would be cute. It is up to how much money you want to spend personalized favors are also very nice. Look at this website the have cute favor boxes if you are interested... Hope it helps and Congrats!!! http://www.bellaterra.net/
- Please look up answers before posting questions. This same question has been posted about 1,000 times before and you might get some great ideas from seeing people's previous answers
- it was a silver salt and pepper shaker set that were shapped of pears and the note on it had their letter of their Last name and it said, the perfect pair. bestadvicechick: If you have seen this question before that many times then you need to start looking at different categories and not rain on someone's parade - all you had to do was pass to the next question.
- The best I've seen are edible favors. They seem to go over best. They aren't personalized and they actually have a purpose. Not many people are going to pass up free candy. Even if they are on a diet, they may take a few pieces home to indulge on later. I once saw heart shaped teaspoons, that was cute. They weren't personalized and you could use them in your kitchen. Also, I once saw a cookie cutter. Again, not something people are going to run home and use. But, they might throw it in their baking items. It's one of those things that people will keep because it can be used for something. I would keep the teaspoons and the cookie cutters. I might use them in my kitchen. I don't think I would hold on to personalized votives or notepads. I once saw mini-teapots. Again, if it doesn't have a solid purpose; I'm just going to leave it or get rid of it.
- the only favor i remember getting was a flower bulb , i can't remember if they were tulips or lilies, but i think that was unique, but i drank a little too much and forgot them! i was upset because i was going to plant them!
- Candy because it was edible...but I received a pen and I liked it because I could use it! I'm always needing pens lol! The bride and groom put their name on them and the date they were married!
- oncei got this hand made mad little red baggy that was hand embroidered on command with the brides and grooms name on it with a few candys inside and a heart shaped cookie cutter with a recipe for a great marraige
- Best = any of the edible favors I have received over the years. The best was last summer; my Sri Lankan girlfriend gave out two types of pastries that I never tasted before. Very memorable, and very delicious.
- The best favor was a hand blown glass purple rose with a a 3-4 inch long stem with two green leaves. After 5 years, I still have it. The bride had a friend who crafted with blown glass. Each rose was unique. She hand packed them in little boxes with a thank you label on the box. Someone handed them out to each lady guest as they left. Another person handed out some jordon almonds and chocolate to the men. If you are lucky enough to have the talent or know someone who can give you a great price, this was a truly beautiful favor. Have been to many many weddings, candy, cookies, wine, are common. CDs with music is nice, small picture frames with picture of bride and groom is also nice. One wedding favor near the holidays was a hand made snowflake ordament from the couple, which was also nice. The plastic cutesy stuff to me is a waste of time and money.
- bottle of wine (this gets expensive) or anything edible - chocolate!
- This is what we are setting out as our favors: http://www.weddingfavorforte.com/store/wedding_collection_coffee_favors.html Yet, the "best" favors have been anything edible!
