Wedding Decorations?

I'm planning on getting married later on this year, and I'm working with a tight budget. Does anyone have any referrals for beautiful wedding decorations at a low cost?

  1. Go on line to the Oriental trading company they have the cheapest so far or a craft store like Micheal's or wall mart
  2. remember there are 2 spaces to decorate, the church and the reception place. In order to keep it simple, you can decorate the church with big candles on the altar and have nice flower arrangements also on the altar and on the 4 rows closest to the altar, you decide. Then the reception, this is where it gets complicated, you have to choose table cloth (colors and fabrics): choose something simple and comun colors. For the center pieces have nice little bouquets with cute little flowers. Remember as long as u keep it simple, u have nothing to worry.
  3. Ikea is another great place to go for inexpensive table arrangements. Especially during their clearance times.
  4. I think this site is great - It gives a lot of ideas that you can do on your own with silk flowers and candles elegantly. They rent out the decor as well - if it is close to where your wedding will be. http://www.decoratemywedding.com/
  5. Just make your own, flower, balloons, what more could you want? Small plants or vases for center piece maybe
  6. I'm on a tight budget as well and these are a few things I've looked into: -String twinkly lights and paper latterns about, if you're having an outside affair. -purchase vases from Ikea and fill with floating candles, or single stemmed flowers (one in each tall vase) -scatter rose petals around the tables. -make your own place settings/favors. Target has a bunch of diy wedding craftsy things. A great place for ideas, too. -if you are having the ceremony and reception at two different places, transfer the flowers from the ceremony to the reception for re-using. -use pillar candles/candle sticks with surrounding flowers. Hope these helped, good luck!
  7. I spent very little for decorations because the outdoor location was so beautiful. If where you get married has natural beauty you don't need to add too much to make it your own. All I had were some rose petals lining the aisle and had the florist put small bouquets of flowers in vases on the tables. There were about 15 tables and the small bouquets were very colorful against the white table cloths (which were provided by the venue). I bought cheap votive candles from Michael's and had 4 on each table. All in all I spent $300 on the decorations. I spent more then that on flowers total because I had my bridal bouquet and the 5 bridesmaids plus boutonnieres and corsages and the cake was decorated with fresh flowers. My total flower bill was $1200. It was money well spent because if I had to do all the decorating and arranging myself it wouldn't have been as nice and been very stressful. Forget about having favors nobody will even notice they aren't there and you can use that money towards flowers.
  8. Oriental trading has LOTS of cheap stuff for plenty of decorations and lots of themes. Michaels also has cheaper ideas with a little better quality. As for flowers maybe a friends garden? Walmart of couse. and EBAY, EBAY, EBAY! I swear by that site! (make sure you check feedback)
  9. I bought some "hurricane lamps" (just a big vase that holds a big candle) in various sizes at walmart, they were on clearance with the christmas stuff, filled them with potpuorie, also christmas clearance and stuck some fake flowers and pussy willow in them and they look real nice. http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a96/maiajoi/DSCF2973.jpg thats a picture of the actual arrangement. also i have been collecting wood and brass candle holders of all shapes and sizes at thrift stores to use for decorations
