Wedding ceremony?
I am preforming a wedding in a month, the couple wants to do the "Cord of three strands" ceremony. Has anyone done this, where did you get the cords and ring. Did you make them? How? Did you buy it? Where? I know it is not my responsibility. However, I want to help them out. They are as clueless as I am of where to find this item.

- If they want something special in their wedding, I would thinkit would be their responsibility to provide you with the tools you'll need. Ask them.
- It's not your responsibility to provide the materials. The couple needs to provide them. Don't feel bad that you don't know anything about the cord of three strands. Each culture has different traditions....
- I have heard of it, you could ask other pastors in your area someone may have some information on it. I did a search and found that there is a reading in the bible that deals with this http://weddings.about.com/od/yourweddingceremony/a/BibleReadings.htm and I also found the following on the ceremony itself. http://jaylor.redrivergorge.org/ceremony.html But definitely talk with other pastors from your area and don't limit to same faith, some of the non denominational Christian churches might know something about this as well. Good Luck.
- http://www.missouriiojd.org/Supplies.htm#Cords Personally, I think you could have the couple make this if there is any kind of craft or sewing center where they live. I am aware of the Cord ceremony. And the Handfasting ceremony. But where does the ring come in, other than the exchange of the wedding rings? When you have the chance. please contact me, thru here or my site. http://www.weddingvowsandpromises.com
