How about this idea for a wedding favor?

I want to do joans soda bottles for the wedding favor. I have always liked this idea, and so has my fiance. The only thing I'm worried about is that they will just be thrown there. They are Joans soda bottles with a picture of us, and a personal message on the back. In all honesty if you got this as a favor would you like it?

  1. The favor is always about personality of the bride and groom and that sounds like a great intimate gift to give to all your guests.
  2. The thing about favors is that no one really keeps them and most people don't even take them, so I would recommend doing something you won't mind being stuck with and you won't get all worked up if you see them tossed. Honestly, I don't know if I would keep a soda bottle... I'd definitely take one but it'd probably get recycled.
  3. Sorry, but most people will simply throw away or recycle the bottle. After the first "Wow, what a unique idea" it will be forgotten.
  4. hell yes I would think it was awesome!!! I would use it as a kitschy little vase or put some colored sand in it. It would be an interesting conversation piece.
  5. I Love that idea!! I wanted to do it, but we couldn't afford it (it's pretty pricey). I would keep mine if I got something like that at a wedding. But everyone is right, some people just don't keep them.
  6. You can't go wrong with edible favors. However Jones Soda is an acquired taste. If you know that your guests love it and/or you're willing to drink any leftovers, then go for it. But most people will recycle the bottle after drinking it since very few people like to keep random stuff in their homes. Personally I don't like Jones Soda and I honestly don't know anyone else who does so I would probably leave mine behind for someone else at the reception. But you know your guests best.
  7. Well, let's be realistic. No matter what favor it is unless you buy your guest something really interesting and expensive is going to get tossed, forgotten, or eaten. People will remember them but they wont always take them. The last wedding I was at they had these cute little bags with colored m&m's in them. I was planning on taking one home with me, my fiance ate some, my future MIL and FIL ate a few and all of our bags ended up getting forgotten at the table. People will get busy running around. I got cute boxes for Candy and some fans for the beach but that's all I got. I knew they would be wasted so I would rather put the money towards something else. Anyway, I think it is a cute idea what you are doing but don't be offended when you do find them laying everywhere cuz it's gonna happen.
  8. If you do that, make sure that the place your having the reception at will allow glass. Some places won't allow glass at all.
  9. I would throw it away before I got back to the car.
  10. I like that idea. It is cute and personal!

  12. keep the soda idea, scratch having your photo on it. It's really expensive to have stuff personalized and then if people don't keep the bottle (which most won't) then you don't feel like your money went to waste. PS-pick a soda in your wedding colors!
  13. I like the idea, I think its cute...but you're right, they'd probably just drink them and leave the bottle. Maybe you could have 3 or so made up for each table and use them as centerpieces with some tall blossoms or something. that would be cute http://scmedia.thenest.com/~/media/96B1E18E882E41A4AF8AFAA5BA1997B2.ashx?db=master sort of like that
