Song for congregation to sing at my wedding ceremony?

Can anything think of a great song that could be sung at my wedding ceremony? It needs to be related to love or happiness, be easy for everyone to sing along to (so either most people know it or it is easy to pick up) and not a hymn. Probably something a bit older - not a modern top 40 pop song. Ideas - Here Comes the Sun - Bealtes, Perfect Day - Lou Reed, You Are The Sunshine of my Life - Stevie Wonder >> But these just don't quite fit the bill (but getting close)... Many thanks! (P.S The Vicar is more than happy with this)

Public Comments

  1. Prodigy - Smack my bitch up,
  2. 'Don't know much but I know I love you' Can't remember who sang it though
  3. What about "All you need is Love" the Beatles or "Love is all around" Wet Wet Wet/Troggs
  4. Oh Happy Day! Thank you for being a friend My Sweet Lord - George Harrison Walkin' on Sunshine - Katrina and the Waves
  5. I was thinking something by the Beatles before you even suggested it! Everyone knows and loves the Beatles. I don't think 'Here comes the sun' is right, though. How about 'Everywhere'? It is a beautiful song.
  6. L-O-V-E by Nat King Cole
  7. One Fine Day Going to the Chapel (and we`re gonna get married) LOL Over the Rainbow (get the karaoke of the ukelele version with Israel Kawa....) What a Wonderful World The Way you Look Tonight Imagination by Harry Connick Happy Together My Blue Heaven You`re Never Fully Dressed without a Smile Blue Skies Do Nothin Til You Hear from Me.
  8. I can't think of a song, but google gospel groups and see if you can find somthing that they do. The main thing is you need to make sure the song can be sung with a multitude of voices or you will regret it.I love the idea! What a neat way to involve the congregation!
