What is the traditional procedure for the use of Arras (unity coins) in a Philippine wedding ceremony?
I am American, and my fiancee is Filipina. We are having a small, semi-formal, close family and friends only wedding ceremony, and we want to include several of the traditional Philippine wedding customs such as the veil, cord, and arras. I pretty much understand how the veil and cord work, but I cannot find anything about what we do with the Arras. We will have an Arras-bearer to bring the coins down the isle, but what do we do with them once they get there?

- Well growing up in the Philippines and being in plenty of weddings, the only thing they do with the Arras is hold on to the pillow upon which the arras are placed (with embellished decorations) while the priest blesses it. I never really inquired of its significance but obviously it's symbolism of an affluent marriage. My best advice is to search for a Filipino priest and ask about it.
