Do you wear your engagement ring during the wedding ceremony?

so i know that the wedding band is supposed to be worn on the inside, before the engagement ring, closest to your knuckles. what i dont know is if during the actual ceremony, do you not wear your engagement and the groom puts both rings on, or does he take off the engagement ring to put the wedding band on first? anyone know?

  1. Traditionally, the engagement ring is removed for the ceremony. It is typically tied with a ribbon to the bouquet, and then it is put back on after the wedding. Hope that helps
  2. you wear it on your right ring finger, then put it on your left ring finger right after the ceremony (before the receiving line because people will want to see them together!)
  3. No you are not supposed to wear your engagement ring. I decided i wanted to so i wore it on my right hand and put the two together when i was away in the room signing papers.
  4. Yes you would wear it on your right hand.
  5. I wore it on my right finger.
  6. I love my engagement ring and nothing will keep me from wearing it hehe. I'll probably wear it on my right ring finger during the ceremony.
  7. There are no set rules on this. With mine it was sautered together right before the wedding so he had it. Others wear it on their right hand and then put it over afterwards. Others just switch it afterwards.
  8. You can wear it on your right hand...wedding band goes on your left hand because it is closest to your heart!
  9. Our celebrant told us to put my engagement ring on the right hand for the ceremony.
