What are the order of events for a wedding ceremony and reception?

I'm trying to figure out some details for my wedding, but I need to know what the order of events are for the ceremony portion and the reception. We are having a methodist wedding if that makes any difference. Thanks for all your help!

  2. Ceremony you will have to discuss with your pastor/officiant. Sometimes you can change things around, sometimes you can't. As for reception - this is typical - let's say your ceremony is 2 p.m. Then you're out of the church by 3, then go for photographs. 5 p.m. - cocktails 6 p.m. - dinner (you arrive just before dinner begins) and program, with toasts, etc. by 8 - Cake cutting 8:30 - first dance, family dances, open dance around 10:30 - bouquet and garter toss, just before having late lunch Then dance til the cows come home! (or as long as you have music and the open bar booked!)
