fall wedding one day befor it turns autumn?
My wedding is Sept 21st one day before the first day of autumn. Is that ok to have leaves and things like that for decor even though its not officially fall? some years fall lands on the 21st. plus any fall ideas for head table, cake table, place card setting and other little things needed. I love crafts, plus we are on a tight budget so I will be doing it myself. Thanks!

- Why not? Sounds awesome!
- Awsome date. Thats my birthday. Its fall, but the leaves wont be brown yet. They'll still be yellow. congrats!
- yes it fine no one will care bcause they will be to busy looking at how good the bride looks
- I love the fall theme! No one but you will know it's the first day before autumn, and even if they did they wouldn't care. Even Martha Stewart wouldn't care. It's a beautiful theme anyway. You might get real autumn leaves to lightly scatter on the tables (I'm not 100% sure about this idea) or just pick out paper products with leaves on them.
- I say go for it! Who cares if its not *technically* fall?? Here are some great fall decorative items that might give you ideas for what to do: http://www.save-on-crafts.com/mapleafgarbr1.html Congratulations and best of luck!!
- Yes that would be beautiful and in season. GoodLuck
- Fall decor will be fine honey, its so close to the change of season it won't really matter....you'll be fine...what color is your wedding? Are you using the earth tones in all your decor? As for your tables...you can catch Hobby Lobby's buy one get one free decoration items and if you shop around right now you can really find some bargains.. suggestions for tables....You can buy those long swags with the different colored fall leaves in them at Walmart for about $5 -$7 ...line them down the middle of your tables like a small S shape (don't be too skimpy on these)...buy pretty fall colored candles and nestle them in the leaves.or place them in some glass votives at vantage points down the tables...or if you have candle sticks....try to use the candles that are about 2 inches. thick...the small tapers just run all over the place... on your cake table you can run the swag around the base and scatter a few leaves around the table...pick up your color with your choice of color underlay and drape your lace table cloth over it....use fall flower swags and tulle around the edge of your table....gathering them at vantage points like scallops..UUUUU and you can even put clear lights inside the tulle and swags...depending on what time the wedding is...start buying your swags now and your tulle...it's only about 1.00 yd at Walmart....just buy a little at a time but keep a list of how many you have so that you don't over buy..Are you using a round table for your cake table? Is your head table going to be rectangled? Rent your table clothes and buy your tulle by the bulk...you'll find that you'll have a lot of uses for it...It makes beautiful bows...and even aisle markers...with a little flowers added...theres a lot of things you can do with "tulle". Gather it around your punch bowl and put lights underneath it and scatter a few flowers or mirrored small glass decor...from the craft section at Walmarts or Hobby Lobby... You can also, for your table get someone to cut you a large piece of glass and put your cake on it, then add some votive lights around it to reflect off the glass...you can use a little bit of tulle or greenery around it too...I hope I've given you something to think about...If you can use this ....great....if it not...just toss it out....Best Wishes on your beautiful fall wedding....HH
- I think it would be fine and it sounds awesome!
- Who changed the dates of the equinox? It should be the 21st. Who cares anyway. It's the perfect time of year for a fall theme. you can scatter colorful silk leaves on the tables (like rose petals) same for your cake table, adding little votive candles. You could use real pumpkins with a ring of fall flowers around it for the centerpieces. Your place cards could be paper cut outs of leaves, pumpkins, apples, etc. Your head table (do a sweetheart table with just you and your honey) and have the bridesmaids bouquets on the table. Then your bridal party can sit with their spouses/dates and be comfortable for the evening.
- Fall decor is perfectly acceptable anytime during Sept or even late August. As far as I know, the 21st always has been the Autumnal Equinox and always will be. But no one will boycott your wedding if you choose to have fall decor before the official start of the season. For example, people put out winter/Christmas decorations long before the winter season ever begins and no one throws a hissy fit over it, so why should fall be any different? Use whatever decor makes you happy and don't let the calendar or even other people dictate what you do.
- hello, a month ago my sister got married and we were also tight in budget so we made ourselves the table decorations with baby breath in small glasses http://www.internetbuket.ru/index.php?alias=info&part=prisen (there are many pistures there but see the pictures with the compositions with baby breath-small white flowers) I must say that the guests paid attention to these decorations and liked them. Do not pay attention as the site is in russian. hope it will help you
