Where can I find a cheap or affordable wedding reception hall in south Florida?

I have search everywhere online for a reception hall that would allow outside catering or is less then $35 per person, but the cheapest I found was $49 per person. I would like to have the reception in the broward or palm beach area. Please help and provide decent answers!!

  1. VFW, Firehouse rent halls or have it in park
  2. look into a vfw or moose lodge or a portugese sport club in the area they normaly will run 300.00 for a night and you have to bring all your food drinks here are some links http://www.partyhalls.com/ http://www.crystaldreamsbh.com/ http://www.allaroundtownevents.com/FTL_HALL.html
  3. Check out the local boards at http://talk.theknot.com or http://www.mywedding.com . Another idea is to ask your local chamber of commerce or parks and recreation dept if there are any nice community halls that will allow you to bring in your own vendors. Some areas of the country are just naturally expensive.
  4. Girl, good luck! I'm in the Sarasota area, and had the same problem. Palm beach would be even more expensive! Try some bed and breakfast inns or restaurants with private rooms, and pick 2 entrees with good prices from the menu. Tell them you'd like to make reservations for how ever many it is, and how many of each entree. Try not to tell them it's for a wedding, cause the price instantly goes up. Tell them (only if you have too) it's a party/reunion or something.
  5. Dugam - I am a South Florida wife! My wedding was last year & we were on a budget. Outside catering & being able to supply our own liquor was a huge part of our decision. We went with the Josephine Leiser Opera Center in Downtown Fort Lauderdale. It was beautiful & the wedding coordinator is a gem to work with! Also after the wedding if anyone wants to keep the party going, they are right there! http://www.leisercenter.org/ Here is a list of Broward County Parks. Check out the links to see their policies on weddings & booze. I have friends who were married at the Anne Kolb Nature Center & it was fantastic! http://www.broward.org/parks/parklist.htm There is also a Women's Club over in Lauderdale By the Sea & I can not find the website! It was just west of A1A...I was very close to going with them, but opted for the Opera Center. Their fees were very reasonable & allowed outside catering/BYOB. Feel free to message me with any questions.
