  1. I think it depends on what he'll be doing on a day to day basis. For example, I know one guy who's corporate and he got a fancier ring. My brother in law works in a very hands-on mechanical trade where he required something super-duty that would not bend if something heavy was to drop on his hand. Also depends on his personality
  2. my husbands ring is white gold, his has started to yellow like mine, I don't know about the other two.
  3. Tungsten wont get scratched or dented. Then I wuld pick white gold. Titanium looks chep to me.
  4. for a guy gold (white or yellow) isn't the best choice because it's easily scratched and bends, and it will wear away over time so you lose metal over the years - for active people or those that work with there hands - bad idea! if you must get gold get 10k - it's stronger and looks as good tungsten is awesome it won't scratch or bend but 2 weird problems - if you drop it on tile (only tile) it'll break into a million pieces, and if there's an emergency and the medical people need to get the ring off and they can't pull it off - there's no way to cut it so you could lose the finger (but really what are the chances???) titanium is very similar to tungsten but it does run the risk of bending in some situations and if it bends to the point it can't be removed - there goes the finger again! my fiance is getting tungsten - he's a paramedic and will beat the hell out of it so it seems like the best choice
  5. I think it should match somewhat to her band.
  6. My fiance picked Tungsten. This one: http://www.tungstenovernight.com/detail.cfm?mid=235&cat_id=1 He just wanted a plain ring, nothing fancy, and he didn't want a very expensive ring due to his line of work. He wouldn't even let me get him a 2nd "fancy" band that would be blessed at the ceremony. I think all three are good choices and have a different look to them. Tungsten, IMO, has a darker look to it (more grey than shiny bright white gold). We both liked the tungsten so we went with it for my fiance. Also, we learned that in case of emergency it can be cut off of his hand (that was a concern for me).
  7. we are also looking at rings and here is what i have learned.. titanium... nice shiny... but once it gets a scratch or mark on it there is nothing that can be done... cannot be buffed out... white gold - looks the same as titanium, scratches etc can be buffed out... tends to yellow but can be recoated and will stay shiny... tungsten - indestuctible.. (i know i spelled it wrong) will stay however it looks when you buy it forever... cannot be sized however but most jewelers will just order you a new one if you need a different size and exchange the old one... and work done on it has been done by lasers and lasers are just plain cool, i think that part alone sold my finace on a tungsten ring!!
