What is the correct way to wear your engagement ring and wedding band?

Which goes on the inside and which on the outside?

1. From what I was told..the band goes closest to your heart. So the band goes on first then the engagement ring.
2. I've heard that the wedding ring should be put on first, so it will be closer to your heart (just makes me want to gag a little). But putting on the engagement ring first makes it a little more secure. I'd rather lose my wedding ring as opposed to my engagement ring which cost significantly more than the wedding ring .
3. "Correct" - wedding ring first, then e-ring. I, on the other hand, will be doing the opposite. That's how I prefer it. Besides, I consider the wedding as "capping" the engagement, AND I got the e-ring first, so it wa on my finger first. The "correct" way just doesn't make much sense to me.

7. I was always told on your wedding day the engagement comes off cuz, nothing is supposed to go their on that day except the wedding ring . and then after the service you are supposed to put your engagement ring on top of the wedding ring . that is how I got mine .
8. I wear the band on the base of the finger then the ring... but I have seen it opposite too. In this day, I don't think tradition really matters anymore. Wear it the way you feel comfy. If you like the look, wear it that way. I know some people who have bands on both sides! Personal preference

11. Wedding Band then the Ring...I know some people have more than one wedding band...They place on on the inside and then the ring and then the other band.
