Who and what amount should I be tipping during a Las Vegas Wedding?

I am getting married in August, and I would like to know how much I am going to need to put back. There are very few sites on wedding gratuity, and even fewer for destination weddings.

  1. We tipped our muscian $25 Officiant $25 Main hostess at our reception: $100 Servers- ???? Money was just flying from me, hubby, father in law, and father- all I know is the bar tenders LOVED us- probbaly around 60-80 bucks each Photographers: $30 each What I kind of did was tried to do between 10-20% of each item, within reason...like our muscian was 125/hr, I guessed at officiant and just gave him the same as the muscian. Our extra hour of pictures was around $250...just for an idea, it's somewhere to start and then you can decide if you think they are worth it- really all it comes down to is service and how special they made you feel on your big day!! I chose not to tip my wedding planner because I wasn't impressed. We kept getting tossed around between people, but I had planned on tipping around $100 We also tipped the bell hop that helped bring stuff from the reception back up to our room...maybe 5-10 bucks.... Hope that helps...
  2. the article below covers tipping in Las Vegas - including amounts to tip at a wedding.
  3. I got married in Vegas last year at a Garden of Love wedding chapel. We had an Elvis impersonater, everything! My wedding was awesome, however, the gratuity thing at this place was really a scam. By looking at the website for the chapel I only knew to bring extra money for the ministers gratuitity, the rest, including Elvis, was supposed to be included in the weddings package deal price. However, when we arrived, we found a different reality. For one thing, the chapel charged my credit card for $200 more than the agreed on amount for the package we chose. I didn't notice until later that day and had to dispute the overcharge with the credit card company (Ugh!). Anyway, the limo driver expected a $50 gratuity (there were signs in the limo stating this reapeatadely, pretty crude I thought), Elvis was really included in the package price, but then we were told that the photographer and videographer would not be paid unless we gave them a gratuity as well! I found that hard to believe b/c it was supposed to be included. What was included: the use of the chapel, a bouquet & boutinere, 2 Elvis tee-shirts, Elvis. What gratuity was expected for: the minister ($40-$80), the limo drivers ($50-$100, but a total rip off for a three block ride!), the photographer & videographers (? we didn't give them much because we didn't know that they had to be tipped on top on the package price and we ran out of cash). I hope this helps. I would call the Chapel and ask for something in writing about this matter if I had to do it again. Also, the licensing place is around $50 or $60 bucks too I think, I can't quite remember. Our Elvis was the #1 in Vegas who performs in the show at the Stratosphere, he was great but I would choose a classier joint if I had to do it all over (still with an Elvis of course). Good luck & have fun!
  4. Go to www.littlechapel.com and view their weddings at Little Chapel of the Flowers! We got married there in May, and they were top class. We gave our minister $60. the limo driver $30, and the photographer $20.
