- Dress according to the season :D
- I feel sorry for your guests, having them sit in the cold in the dead of winter. I suggest outdoor space heaters.
- Lucky you! that its not cold down there, I am from MN and its freezing! anyways, with the way the world is the weather has been crazy, so if you want a strapless I'd recommend getting a light shall/jacket type thing I cant think of what you call them just incase it gets alittle chilly! colors of course I'd have white, silvers, reds, greens,or light blues (mix match whatever not saying use them all) it would be pretty to add some crystals (fake to save money obviously)into the wedding bouqet or as center pieces. Use alot of white xmas lights with white tool is so elegant for outside or inside reception. did you want a winter effect? or since you dont probably get snow were you thinking more of a valentines day theme? this will help alot too. MN is way different look in the winter so this would look pretty here with all the snow we get. I dont know how louisiana looks in the winter :) hope I helped alittle :)
- Go all out!! I am originally from LA and i know the weather there could be a coin flip. but since you are getting married on valentine's day, get all kinds of wonderful deco after xmas, bcuz it is red, on clearance. I would defineately suggest a shawl, u can find wonderful ones at david's bridal online
- sounds gorgeous, a valentine's day wedding. I'd use lots of hearts and roses and red, and kind of go with a valentine's day theme. not tacky of course, but lots of subtle things. in terms of your dress, i'd buy a nice jacket or cardigan to go with your dress in case you get cold.
- well that kinda depends on the ceremony you want to have. i've been to weddings that last from 10-30 minutes so that would be ok to wear strapless, if you think your ceremony will be longer then consider getting a shawl of some sort to keep you warm. i'd imagine any type of flowers would work although i would suggest something with bigger buds such as carnations or roses rather than smaller flowers due to the fact that the trees will be a little bare so the scene may be a little dreary. since you are having a valentines ceremony then you may want to embrace the whole red, pink and white color scheme or maybe less obvious with a more champange color and silver or gold. It was suggested to me for a winter wedding to serve your guests hot chocolate
- i don't know what your budget is but what about a 'winter wonderland' theme of sorts. i don't know much about winter flowers but thats easy to find on the net...warm braziers and candles to create a warm feel amidst your whites etc. i work in a function centre and we just a had a theme like that and they use little red apples and leafless branches with diamonte snowflakes hanging off them. granted it wasn't a wedding it was still looked great and it had a nice atmosphere. things like faux white furs would be cool for people (women espeaically) to have at their seats to keep them warm. but probably expensive to rent/buy. i think your biggest problem would be the women...the men can wear tuxedos and be warm...however women dressing up for the cold season is a bit different. will your reception be inside?
- I've seen some girls wear really pretty shawls (white or colored to match their colors) or other type of wraps with their dresses, just in case it gets cold. You wouldn't have to wear it unless needed. On principle alone, I think that a strapless dress would be lovely during any month of the year, even with a "winter themed" wedding. It all depends on whatever dress you love and feel beautiful in. I'm not a flowers/decorations expert so I'll leave that part to the others...
