Homemade cookie wedding favors?

Anyone ever baked cookie favors for their own wedding? I'm an experienced baker and am considering it... not sure if it'll be something I will regret before the wedding--don't want to be in too bad of a time crunch. :-/ Also, the cookies I would bake freeze well (for up to three months). I would just need to assemble them in boxes closer to the wedding so that they dont spoil after they defrost.

  1. I hear that edible favors are the best favors because they will not be wasted. Thats a smart idea. I have never heard of anyone regretting baking cookies for their wedding.
  2. Yes, we actually did cookies for all the guests at our wedding and they turned out really nice. My aunt made heart shaped cookies with white icing and a purple initial (our last name) on them. They were a big hit and then people who wanted something sweet other than cake had something to snack on. I thought they went over very well.
  3. If I had that type of talent, then I would DEFINITELY bake my own cookies!
  4. Sounds like you've got a great plan to go about handling this! The only thing I can tell you is the day of your wedding goes by sooo fast. You think you'll have hours to get stuff done & somehow it flies right out the window. And the night before can be a wash too because of the rehersal dinner & any last minute honeymoon packing. Another question - are you staying at your house the night before the wedding or will you be somewhere else? If at your house, will anyone be with you that can help assemble? And lastly, do you have a plan to get these to the reception site? If you can arrange all of that then I say go for it!
  5. sounds good, Im old fashioned, back in my day, we didnt give the guests wedding favors....
  6. I've never done it, but think freezes them ahead of time is a great idea. Just have all the boxes labeled ahead of time too, so all you have to do is load them up!
