  1. If the marriage is that new, then it has to be something sexual. Nothing else will suffice in a male brain.
  2. Traditionally the 1st wedding anniversary gift is paper/card therefore some think that only a card is required. For myself we returned to the hotel we spent our wedding night and I compiled a scrapbook of pic's and cards from the wedding. My husband stuck with tradition but made a card for me - I thought at first it was going to be a shopbrought card and was ready to explode after all the effort I put in, but when I realised he'd made it and composed the verse in side it made my night!!!
  3. A first wedding anniversary is normally paper. So something with the meaning of the wedding to the both of you would work wonders. Even if it is just a simple weekend getaway to the Poconos or even Atlantic City to stay in the Casino...any way you like to make it. Or have a romantic picnic in the bathroom and give him a set of new promises you would like to hold up for the next hundred years or so....something elegant simple and leads to the honeymoon night like a year ago.
  4. im in the same boat as you. our i year is comming up in 3 weeks. (april first) we decided to go away for the weekend. they say the first year is paper for taditional and clocks for modern. since my hubby is really difficult to shop for, i found an ipod alarm clock (goes with the modern 1st. year anniversary thing). he has an ipod and likes to listen to it when he goes to sleep. i thought this would be much better since you just attach the ipod to the alarm clock and no wires to wrap around his neck when he sleeps. im such a thoughtful wife. hehehe i found it on redenvelope.com they have other suggestions as well. i just thought this was practical and goes with the the 1st. year anniversary theme. good luck and congrats to you!!
  5. same as my wife got me,,,, Nothing!
  6. When it was my first wedding anniversary (traditionally paper), I bought my husband some framed film cells of Lord of the Rings (he is a big fan) which came with a certificate which is made of PAPER!, he was very happy and I was in the good books.
  7. As it is our first wedding anniversary - it should be associated with paper. What about a poster giving details of what was happening in the world in the year week and day of his birth. If you are on a budget you could do the research and make this yourself. you could include - news headlines, no1 in the charts, Football league details , other sports news, other people that share his birthday, oscar winner that year basically anthing that he is interested in now you could show him how it stood when he was born. If you want to buy him something else search something like ebay for a bit of memorobila from the time he was born. Perhaps a football program or a song that is assoicated with his birthdate.. Basically this idea would work whether you did it as his birthday or everthing associated with our wedding anniversary. Hope that gives you some inspiration.
  8. paper is the gift for 1st anniversary so why not buy some tickets for a show or tickets for a trip somewhere or the reservation letter for a nice hotel for the two of you. good luck.
  9. Well im sure the 1st anniversy is paper, so i would suggest a photo album or diary perhaps. I would say if you have any love letters have them framed.
  10. kiss him and snog him
  11. your first anniversary is paper, so a photo would be OK, but you should have put them up already lol. i am coming up to my first anniversary and I am thinking either tickets to some where, place or a certificate with a plot on the moon , a star named after us etc, good luck and hope u have fun x
  12. How about a tree that he can plant as a reminder of the day. Paper is made of wood so there is that link to the traditional.
  13. A lap-dance ..... from his wife?!
  14. er, ok. sounds good! or something that reminds him of the 1st time u got 2getha.
  15. It's your Paper Anniverysary. Why not get a back dated copy of a quality newspaper from the day you were married? This could be boxed etc and in years to come something to look back on detailing what else was going on in the world that day. If you feel the cost of this less than you want to spend then take him somewhere nice and present him with it.
  16. The picture frame may be cool (but honestly...is it something he wants or something you want?) Since first anniversary is paper you could get him tickets to a show or game he wants to go to. If you guys are tight on money you could just get movie tickets and a card and have a nice date.
  17. Its your paper anniversary, so some sexy paper underwear he can peel off you. Failing that or if its not your scene a subscription to his favourite magazine----or both.
  18. The traditional first anniversary gift is paper. I gave my husband a beautiful leather bound journal from Colonel Littleton. Inside I wrote 365 things (one for every day we had been married) that I loved about him. He loved it...even cried a little because he was so moved. He said it was the sweetest and most romantic thing anyone had ever done for him. In fact, he carries that journal everywhere and writes in it daily. He said he didn't think he'd ever do anything like that... but it was a good way to remember little things later in life. Good luck and I hope this helps.
  19. Paper is the first anniversary gift if going by tradition you could get him a picture and frame it (sort of paper) or his favorite books
  20. Since the first year gift is paper I made my wife a cheque for our first anniversary present. I created a 'fake' cheque from the "Bank of Cupid tlc" and made it payable to my wife (obviously) and paid the sum of "All my love" and placed heart icons in the figure section. For the numbers on the cheque I used combinations of our birthdays and our wedding anniversary date. I spent some time putting it together using various programs to make it look nice and printed it on pink paper and sprayed a little of her favourite perfume on it. I then took her out to lunch and when the time came to pay the bill I place my cheque on it and passed it to her; I then paid my bill properly afterward - lol.
  21. Here's something creative that will be appreciated and you will have fun doing: Make up a crossword puzzle and have all the hints be personal inside moments and jokes that only you two would know about. Put it on a poster board and add some clipart and some pictures to it! The crossword puzzle could be time consuming and a bit frustrating ... you could do the same idea with a WORDSEARCH or WORDFIND puzzle. Put your computer skills to work! Use Excel, get clipart from Yahoo Images Search, copy them, and reformat them, use a gluestick to put on posterboard. Use graph paper, and pictures from magazines if you are not as good on the computer, and it will give it more of a homemade feeling.
  22. Well as it is meant to be paper related.... how about.... Tickets to a show in London.. Red Day experience... Anniversary Card (goes without saying!)... Photo - get a sentiment photograph you have together blown up, and framed... Congratulations on your 1st year together, hope you have many more to come!x
