New ideals for wedding favors?
Looking for a ideal for a do it your self wedding favor. We were going to be doing the candy bars with a custom cover but the no longer sell candy bars in the stores that are wrapped in the silver and then paper. They are now wrapped in plastic. I thought of ordering them from the oriental tradding company. But do not like the covers they have and it will double the buget by getting them there and then going to buy the paper to recover them. So I am looking for a food based favor candy, mints, nut, ect. They need to be small and a good price. What ever it is i am customising to my theme. (celtic/ renisance)

- lots of people have these available on ebay ready to be personalized with your details and usually for a wonderful price...check it out.
- Given your theme and the lack of refined sugar in that time period I would recommend nuts. You can buy huge cans of mixed nuts at Sam's Club or Costco and bag them yourself. If that doesn't work for you personalized M&Ms are great and they will bag them for you!
- What about a candy bar...not like a hershey but a table with all sorts of candies. Then you can get paper bags and stamp them with a celtic knot or something to fit with the theme. guests fill them up and take them home...always a big hit. Perhaps make a sweet pastry like a cookie or sticky roll and make it look like the dough is knotted. Renissance times the wedding cake was always a pile of bread brought by the guests. If the couple could kiss over it without knocking the pile over the marriage was considered lucky. You had the right idea with something edible....anything not edible is always left behind or thrown in the trash. Sad but true.
- give out taffy apples from your local taffy apple company
- Don't do Favors. It's a waste of your precious time and resources. Most people just leave them. It's just more junk and clutter. I can't remember the favors at the lest ten weddings I was at. If you do candy, see if you can line up a soup kitchen to handle the leftovers.
- why give out candy.....why dont you give something that will last a life time. My son and his wife made cd's......what they did was get everyone in the wedding party, flower/ring bearer included, both sets of parents.......to write down their favorite wedding song. The bride took their engagement picture, scanned it, and they made a CD of all these songs, along with the song of the first dance.........and passed these out to everyone. A small story about how the bride and groom met, and the people who choose the songs was on the inside of the cd This was a great hit, and people had some nice music to listen to, and also remember this happy occasion
- go to cany wherehouse.com
- I am thinking for my wedding, that I would do a red rose (my colors red, and of course red signifies romance) on each seat. fiftyflowers.com has them cheap. And attach a note saying thak you for joining us in our special day.
- We got married in the fall when my favorite flower, tulips, were out of season. So we bought a bag of tulip bulbs from Sam's Club and put them in clear candy bags with a little colored raffia and tied them with a pretty ribbon. We included a little card inside giving instructions on planting them. In the spring, everyone had a reminder of our wedding and everyone told us how beautiful the flowers were. Good luck!
- We had a Rennaisance themed wedding and did everything ourselves. We made our program into small scrolls and had them laying in the seats. If it an outdoor wedding, you can make the program into fans. It is easy to make your own chocolates, though. There are many molds with a Celtic theme as well as companies selling chocolate ready to go.
- Hershey's kisses with little round stickers on the bottom of the kisses. or, you can put them together to make a rose bud.
- How about customized mint tins? or you can buy heart-shaped mints and put them in a decorated box.
