  1. apple slices drizzled w/ caramel are ok but i wouldn't do the whole apple. a whole apple would be messy & everyone is dressed up. good luck & congrats!
  2. you can go to http://www.affytapple.com/ They come individually pre packaged. I saw it on the food network once. You can put them into small gift bags. You can do an autumn theme bag - maybe a plain brown one (with a handle) and you can use a stamp of a leaf to jazz them up.
  3. What a marvelous idea, especially for an October wedding with a fall theme. You can add halloween candies, and little pumpkin candies too. Google it if you want to see how to make them, or you can order them from your favorite confectionary store in your area. The children will love them. How about a cotton candy machine for the kids too? That would go great with the candy apples, and you can have the cotton candy made in the colors which are the theme of your wedding.
  4. I think it's a great idea. Not crazy at all. Nearly everyone likes them. From what I have found, if you want plain (no nuts or other toppings), you have to make your own or be within local driving distance of a business that offers plain caramel apples. Many companies seem to believe that everyone likes nuts, even though many actually don't and others may be allergic. The best one I found is http://thecaramelapple.com I had my first ever caramel apple this last October and it was plain caramel, no nuts. It was not messy at all. You need napkins because the apple has juice in it but the caramel was not messy in the least and it was thick enough it wasn't going anywhere to even be an issue.
  5. omg i thought i was the only one doing that. i love that idea. you could put them in these clear carmel apple boxes on the website called usbox.com this is the link http://usbox.com/candy/apple_box.html
  6. Awesome idea! Of course I am a little bias. My friend's wedding ceremony was in an orchard and the reception was in a marquee not to far away in an adjacent field. They gave those away as favors wrapped in cello with apple shaped tags that had like 10 different quotes about love. Everyone loved them she had great feedback about them. Don't worry about mess because people don't eat their favors till the next day. My friend put them on a cake tower which was on a table as you left. And I love the boxed ones above they look even nicer then cello!
  7. that is an AWESOME idea - very unique. The only thing you would have to worry about is how to present it - in what box, ribbon? Obviously, the favor can get messy - but favors are to take home anyway
  8. Yes, definately a good idea. I was going to do this as favors for my October wedding as well, but we changed plans. I would have both candied & plain caramel apples so people can choose. Then, wrap them up individually with celophane, tie a ribbon that coordinates with your wedding colors, & add a little thank you note attached. They may be a little messy, but since they are favors, they won't necessarily be eaten at the wedding anyway. Very cute idea, & shouldn't be too difficult to put together on your own. This website offers already made apples or kits to buy & make your own: http://www.daffyapple.com/t-WeddingFavors.aspx Kits: http://www.daffyapple.com/pc-35-2-caramel-apple-kit.aspx Other sites: http://www.amyscandykitchen.com/page.cfm/164 http://www.amysapples.com/
