candy buffet for wedding favors...yes or no?
http://budgetdreamweddings.com/weddingplanning/wp-content/uploads/2007/05/n531550148_157072_7960.jpg i AM the wife! we're using little chinese take out boxes in red (our color) with mostly red candy. hopefully, a normal parent would control their kids. i'm not having them, at any rate. most guests polled these days prefer an edible wedding favor. we are using nastalgia candy (from our childhood) 1970's era.

- Depending on the rest of the wedding. But it looks nice!
- I did a cookie buffet, everyone loved it. Unless your guests attend a lot of weddings, they probably haven't seen one before and will think you're very clever and creative! Good luck.
- Adorable! Adults like candy too!
- I think it's a really cute idea, but it's kinda getting a little overdone.
- This has become pretty popular, if your having kids at the wedding I would say it would be even more of a hit just make sure that an adult is around to supervise or you'll have a lot of sick kids.
- Awww. That's a cute idea. Do it! (and invite me.....)
- awwwww yes! that looks so fun! you should get bags, bowls, or even plastic cups made with the bride and grooms name on it as well as the date, if you do something like cups its a reusable thing and it is a nifty souviner
- mmmmm looks good to me. as a guest i would love it.
- I like it.. OR you can get a chocolate fountain..use white chocolate and dye it to match the theme..and have fruits, pretzels, etc. to dip
- As long as the candy have a wedding theme. Both of your name or the wedding date.
- How about dried fruit and nuts instead? More grown-up, healthier and, just cooler!
- I say why not sounds cool
- Cupcakes have become very popular at weddings. How about doing a cupcake buffet?
- oh nice!! yeah that's a great idea!
- Well, what does the wife want? Thats what you need to ask yourself.
- Well personally the candy in your photo doesn't seem romantic. Looks a little more like a child's party. sorry A friend of mine did a chocolate bar. It was really sexy. They had different grass containers for all sorts of chocolates and monogrammed little bags and the guest would take home a few peaces of chocolate as favors.http://i168.photobucket.com/albums/u167/lettuce_07/chocolate_fountain.jpg http://i168.photobucket.com/albums/u167/lettuce_07/candybuffet.jpg http://i168.photobucket.com/albums/u167/lettuce_07/chocolate.jpg
- I love this idea!It is so cute and I have not seen it at any weddings! I am doing the same thing! It gets the adults talking and lightens the mood, everyone can have fun and enjoy! Plus with sugar in there systems they might stay longer and dance a little more! Best wishes in planning your special day!
- My cousin had one, and I thought it was cute. BUT the only thing I didn't like was the lack of variety and the fact that all the good candy got snatched up before we could get to it!!
- As you can see, you get varied answers to this question. Some people think that it's tacky or childish and some love it. You have to decide what you like and what you think your guests will like. I had a candy buffet at my wedding in October and everyone loved it. There was almost no candy left at the end of the night. As for the Chinese take-out boxes, I like the idea as long as it ties in with the rest of your wedding.
- Personally I'm not a fan of candy bars. If you have kids at the wedding they will be dipping their hands in everything and running around like maniacs because of all the sugar in their systems. If you don't have kids then why do you need all of that candy?
- sound great and fun
