Garden Party Shower?
I am the maid of honor in my sister-in-laws wedding in October and for her shower i would like to set a garden party theme. We are having it outside and the favors for everyone to take home will be small (about 3 inches high) terra cotta pots with seed packets in the pot that have the bride and grooms name on them. Anyone know where I can buy those pots in bulk cheaper AND any ideas on games or foods or anything to make the shower better?

- ebay is a good place for things like that. Try there!
- Try ebay or the dollar store
- Walmart here has those little pots for about 30c each. seems pretty reasonable to me. other than that. check out some gardening websites. Ebay wouldnt be any cheaper cuz of shipping.
- Typically your local craft stores will have little clay pots in various sizes at a good price (ie Michael's, JoAnns - not sure what is available where you live). It would be fun to do the shower in the format of a tea party. Make little mini cucumber sandwiches, have little pastries and a cheese board with gourmet cheeses and berries. You can use various china tea cups and saucers and ask all the guests to wear frilly hats. There are a lot of fun things you can do with this theme! Have fun and good luck!
- I did a garden baby shower and here are some of the ideas I used: dessert: "Dirt and worms" (pudding and oreo cookie dessert- many recipes online) served with a clean (new) garden trowel. used cute bug shaped serving dishes (we have a place called swoozies that has really unique party stuff) fresh flowers everywhere (I got a bunch under $4 each at the local grocery store the morning of the shower) here is a cute idea I have used several times and modified for a tropical shower as well. I bought blank cards and punched a hole in each one, then tied a ribbon (a little over a foot in length) and had each guest write words of advice for the bride on each one. Once the party was in full swing, I would sneak away and hot glue the other end of each ribbon to a parasal or some other kind of small decorative umbrella and present it to the bride after the gifts had been opened. Then I have her read the words of advice out loud. " I always say something cheesy like, in every marraige a little rain must fall and here is an umbrella of advice to help keep you dry. You could say something to refer to the garden theme, like, rain helps a garden grow, and rain can make your marriage stronger, but here is an umbrella of avice to help keep you from getting soaked!!!
- you r such a yuppie=>
