Pew decorations (pictured)...Do you like them?
I am wanting to make as much as I can for my wedding and I was just messing around last night and made this. Do you think that it would be a pretty pew decoration? My wedding is going to be pretty formal and my colors are white and black. The carpet in the church is red (also picture) but I will have a white aisle runner going down the middle. Do you think that the green in the pew decorations make it look to much like Christmas? The aisle: http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb200/anna_sfa/Church010.jpg The decorations: http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb200/anna_sfa/pewbows001.jpg http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb200/anna_sfa/pewbows002.jpg The pictures of the pew decorations make them look really shiney...but they are not that glossy in person. What would you add or take away for the decorations to make them better? By the way....my wedding is in a year. June 14, 2008

- Those look very nice. I think they will be fine. Pew decorations don't really need to consist of more than a ribbon so what you are doing seems like more than enough.
- it looks very sophisticated...its going to be beautiful!
- The decorations you've chosen are very nice. However, because the carpet is red (and you'll probably see that on the sides of the white aisle) if may look a bit like Christmas. The greenery of your decorations kind of reminds me of evergreen, another Christmas reference. Maybe adding just a bit more to them, will take away that effect? Some baby's breath, or another simple flower, might do just the trick! Another option, leave your decorations the way they are, and cover the entire center aisle in white. Congrats on your upcoming vows!
- those are beautiful! you did a great job. i think with the runner, the red carpet won't be as noticable and won't be too christmasy.
- maybe some white toul, like a oversized bow at the bottom and let the ends pool on ot the floor
- Your decs are beautiful! Maybe try a variegated green if you think it's too much like Christmas? Try baby's breath around some of the roses. Otherwise, with the white runner, I wouldn't worry.
- I love the idea- but I think that it might be too christmas-y too. Maybe the same design in white silk hydrangeas? You could add touches of your wedding colors if you wanted.
- It's pretty, but I recommend adding maybe some baby's breath to break up some of the greenery and definitely add something on the bottom like tulle and ribbon or chiffon and ribbon (mix white and black ribbon), so it drapes down the sides of the pews
- with those deorations i would think that you would be having a christmas time wedding..
- I would add some baby's breath and do every other pew.
- they are pretty but they seem a bit large
- I like it. I think with the white runner it will look nice and not too Christmas-y. You might consider adding something that trails a bit, ribbon or foliage so that they don't look like Christmas ornaments being so perfectly round the way they are now. Also, think about how they will hang from the pews - the round shape might stick out kind of awkwardly. So, maybe do half of the globe, with the ribbon hanger on top, and some ribbons trailing down from the bottom or something.
- OK the chruch is really small so you don't want to much otherwise it might make things stuffy for you and everyone else. I love what you have so far and I agree with the colors it looks great. no it doesn't look to much like christmas! I would try something like lace or ribbion connecting the pews together that might make it look a little formal or classy, then I would try to see if you could place something over the entry way something that has your colors and some flowers dangaling! that might be ok, you could also try having candles on tall stands by the alter that might look nice you could even add more to the flowers on the walls! Good luck on your wedding! :)
- Very nice! Elegant without being over the top.
- They are beautiful. You are already going above and beyond what most people do, which is just bows. You are limited by colours, anyway, with your choices.
- I like the decorations. Your colors are limited, but maybe using different greenery like an ivy, or adding baby's breath. It is your wedding though and I admire you for doing the decorations on your own and going away from the traditional pew bows. I too am getting married on June 14th and haven't even gotten to the church decorations. Good luck and Congratulations!
- I think they look great! But the green does look Christmas-y. Is there something else you can use to fill in the area instead of that green? Another green may work but this one looks christmas tree-y. Or try adding different flowers or another color.
