How much will my wedding cost?
Im trying to keep spending low on my upcoming wedding. I have the pastor, church and reception site already, about how much should I expect for the rest (catering, decorations, dress/tux, food, etc.)?

- A wedding can be beautiful for around $2,000 BUT that's if you and your fiance are willing to do alot of the work yourself. To get a really nice wedding, you'll spend around $10,000. For $20,000, you can get a super nice wedding.
- almost always more than you expect...unfortunately.
- I'm in the process of planning my own wedding and I can tell you from TONS of research, the catering will be the most expensive thing on the list. I budgeted $8,000 for all of the food, service, and bar alone (For a wedding of approx. 150 people). It depends on how many people are attending, where you are having your wedding reception, what the hall requires. Unfortunately, our hall won't allow us to have a caterer drop off food so we have to pay for the servers to stay the whole time. If you can find an affordable caterer you may be able to get food for $2,000 to $3,000! Decorations can be affordable if you're willing to do them yourself, I would budget up to $1,000. I came up with an approximate price for my own wedding by writing down what I knew I wanted, and putting the average price next to each item. Add it all up and overestimate by a bit, just to make sure you're covered in all areas! Hope this helps ;)
- the cost depends on where you are, and how much you do yourself. i am currently planning my wedding for september, and i have spent 300 on the rings, 170 on reception hall, 75-80 on my dress (my mom is making it), 100 for the minister, 100 for the marriage licence, i still have to get the decorations, wedding favors, suit for my fiance, and suit for my son (ring bearer) and the munchies we are having instead of a dinner, i am not having a dj, but u might want one. i know someone that recently eloped at niagra falls for 1500 canadian, so good luck and congradulations, feel free to email me
- the average wedding costs about $25,000
- The decorations and the tux rental will not be too expensive. Maybe between $125 to $200 each depending on what you want. You can provide finger foods like veggies, fruit, meat&cheese trays, crackers, a hot dip like spinach/artichoke and some meat choices like chicken wings, chicken or steak kabobs, chilled shrimp. You can get all of this at your local supermarket at a good price if you buy in bulk. You would spend about $200 for 50-75 people. If you have a caterer provide the food it will cost at a minimum of $10 per person and that is pretty inexpensive. Most caterers will charge $1.00 to $1.50 per slice to cut and serve the cake. If the bride does a lot of online shopping and visits local bridal stores she might be lucky enough to find a dress on sale. David's Bridal is having their $99 sale on select dresses. Otherwise a wedding dress can be anywhere from $300 to $800 for a nice dress and can even cost more if she chooses a very elegant dress with lots of detail. Hope this helps some.
