Wedding decoration help?!?!?!?

Ok my fiance and I are using ballons to cover the ceiling of our church gym. We dont want the beams to be seen. Anyway our wedding is not un July, but the decorators wanted to know what we were going to do for the ceiling and I was thinking of going ahead and ordering the balloons, but I was wondering does anyone know how long balloons stay good or how it takes them to dry rot? I dont want to order them and then by the time the wedding gets here them not be good. Again I dont want to wait and not be able to find them anywhere wither. So...... Help plz!! lol Thanks

  1. as long as they don't have air, you can have balloons forever! i worked at a hallmark and we never ordered balloons and the ones we had from 5 years before were fine. i don't think there's any harm in ordering the ones you want now. best of luck and congrats!
  2. July this year.. you can order them now. Dont keep them in direct sunlight they will stay good for a long time. I wouldnt actually blow them up and hang them until a day before the wedding though.
  3. What about using some sort of fabric, draped to cover the rafters? I think it would be alot more classy than balloons. I just think of ballons as a childs party, not a wedding. But if you hired decorators, shouldn't they be worried about this?
  4. they'll be fine to keep till july, it's like everyone else said though, you need to keep them out of the sun. also if they are helium filled ballons, make sure you order some goop (i'm not sure what it's really called, everyone i worked with in the floral called it goop) anyway its just a coating for the inside of the balloon, it will help keep the balloons floating longer.
  5. if it is July of this year I would order them make sure you get enough I would order extra just in case
