wedding decoration ideas?

I have a whole year to plan this wedding but i'm not wait to the last minute. I would like to have my wedding in my motherinlaws yard at the ranch but when we asked her she said yes but she wants us to look at a small church some other family members got married at so I need ideas for both types of a wedding. thanks for everyones help

Many of the craft stores now, like Craft Warehouse, and Michael's, (not sure you have those chain stores where you live) have great ideas regarding trellises, how to put together the flowers and netting that you would string down the pews of a church etc. Since you have a year, start putting together a book by pasting ideas in them from magazines or other sources. I saw a bride to be do this and she not only had fun with doing it, she could show her fiance and get his shared opinion. Most of the decisions will likely be yours, since most men don't really want to get that deeply involve in the small details of the planning. Subscribe to a "Brides" magazine. That would also help.

4. You can use a country theme for the ranch or the church. Will the reception be at either location too? I saw the cutest cake. It was huge and made to look like three bales of hay sitting atop the other (coconut covered cake). Small bales of hay were decorative on the tabletops (get them at Michael's Crafts). Tableclothes were plain white with accent squares of country fabric (quilt pattern) placed on the diagonal. Large mason jars as vases with field flowers, smaller mason jars with handles for drinking. There were country accents everywhere; pitcher with bowl, lanterns, buckets with ice/champagne. The food was great too; fried chicken, gravy, mashed potatoes, biscuits, potatoe salad. It was great! 5. For the yard at you motherinlaws you can have white seats and a little platform for you and the groom and w white carpet with red roses spread all over it with lots of color around the yard. At a church you can have white fabric on the side of the pews and pink and red roses scattered on the floor and maybe a flowy fabric hanging from the ceiling.
