Church Decorations???

The church where we're having our wedding doesn't have pews. It has straight backed chairs that are attached together in rows and don't have arm rests. They're very neutral and not at all unsightly. However, since there isn't much to attach bows or flowers to, what can we do to decorate the aisle? My dress has a fairly wide/long train, so anything on the ground might get knocked over. If anyone has any ideas, especially pictures, I would really appreciate it. I prefer flower decorations over tulle or ribbon, so if anyone can think of creative ways to attach flowers to the chairs or something that would be great! Thanks!

  1. You should still be able to attach a flower arrangement to the end chair. Also if you don't seat people from the center isle you could attach them from chair to chair! It is your day do anything you want! Have fun and enjoy.
  2. Let it go--concentrate on the window sills and the altar. Nothing in the aisle to compete with your beauty when you walk down.
  3. Perhaps some thing like what they do for outdoor weddings when they don't have much for seating, like flowered archways? http://images.google.com/images?svnum=10&um=1&hl=en&safe=off&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial&q=flower+archway&btnG=Search+Images Without knowing exactly what the chairs look like it's very hard to say how you would attach something to them. You may have to just focus on decorating other areas besides the aisle. Sorry I'm not more help.
  4. I agree with Sabrina, bring everyone's attention to the front of the church.
  5. i didn't think you could even decorate churches...
  6. You could decorate the chairs on the aisle by wrapping wide satin ribbon in your wedding color(s) around the back part of the chair (what your back sits against) and tie it into a loose knot on the side of the chair (closest to the aisle). You can do what we did and take a single stem flower (tulips in my case) and slip the stem of the tulip into the knot of the ribbon and let the ends of the ribbon drape down over the stem. You end up with a beautiful and simple flower and ribbon decoration piece that's super simple and inexpensive. You can also ask the florist if they can supply you with those little plastic water tubes. The ends of the ribbons will drape down and cover the tube as well.
  7. string trulle up the side of the pews from front to back and get mini bouquets made and attach them to each chair on top of the trulle. Looks lovely
