I am having a masquerade wedding. Any creative ideas??
It's in the middle of the winter in 'Cinderella's make believe ballroom'. I am wearing a burgundy gown. I want all guests in black with masks? Should I ask them to bring their own masks? Should I make them all? What decorations can I use??

- I would make them all yourself - then at least you know what to expect, and what the photos will look like! you always get one clown who will make a joke one!!! Plus no-one will have a nicer one than you if you make them!! hehe!!
- If you are wanting some uniformity to them, I suggest that you make/buy them yourself and supply them to your guests. Otherwise, you are likely to have some people in masks that totally contradict the theme of your wedding. Good luck & best wishes!
- on the table you should have a plain mask and supplies to build the masks. when ppl sit down in their black attire, they build their mask and have a fun, unforgetable time at your wedding. good luck!!!
- You can request that your guesst wear black, but don't be surprised if you see some navy, green's or--egads--burgandy on any of the guests. I am sure most if not all will bring you a fairly expensive, well thought out gift. Supply the masks-put them in a decorated basket and let them choose as they enter. Build or buy--your choice depending on your budget and number of guests. Decorations? Consult a well recommended florist./wedding planner. Balloons are always a nice touch, too. Congratulations and best wishes!
- I think it's rude to tell your guests what to wear. You can however provide the masks at the door and hope they are kind enough to participate. You can also have your wedding party in black. If you'd like your guests to wear black then have your friends and family suggest it verbally.
- You can always have an assortment of masks on the guest table as they sign your guest book if they don't have their own. Oriental Trading company as well as http://www.mardigrasmasks.com/ have several inexpensive masks that you can choose from. Or let your guests be creative with it unless you want to have some control over the colors there. Feathers, beads, and fans make great decorations
- You should probably provide the masks, as those are not the kind of thing most people carry in their closet, or know were to get one. Trying buying them in bulk from someplace like the orientaltrading.com website and then decorate them with gold, silver and burgundy beads, glitter, etc.
- I can appreciate that you want something unique for your wedding, but a masquerade Cinderella ball wedding is really far out there. I really don't think that your wedding guests will feel very comfortable in this sort of setting. A masquerade theme is just not appropriate for a wedding. If you are having a winter wedding, having burgundy as your wedding color is fine - the decorations and bridesmaids dresses can be burgundy. You can use burgundy flowers, etc. However, most people will not wear black to a wedding - it's not really an appropriate color for a wedding unless it's an evening wedding. If you really insist on black, then make it a black tie affair - which means the men must wear black tuxes, and the ladies will wear formal evening gowns.
