Wearing a "used" wedding dress vs. buying? There's a wedding dress I love, but has recently gone up in price. Ok, so I am interested in a used wedding dress since I dont want to spend a rediculous amount of money on something I will only use once. The dress is a designer dress that was bought around $1200 and has probably been discontinued since its from 2006. The girl that is selling it has had it preserved and cleaned in a keepsake box for about 2 years. The style is a one piece, sweetheart neckline, with swarovski crystals on the bodice. The skirt is full of pickups held by a few swarovski crystals. Now my question is, how much would you guys expect to spend on a used designer dress from 2006 that costed originally $1200 or so, but has a few minor dirt stains on the train that never came out during preservation. She is also willing to give her veil (pretty plain), petticoat, and bustier (if it fits but probably unnecessary for the dress) How much would you guys be willing to spend on this?? How do I get rid of my old, used wedding dress?!?!?!? My wedding dress isn't even a year old but it's a wreck. It has black stains on the bottom, a huge rip on the seam where the bottice meets the skirt, and it has *ahem* feminine stains on the inside (sorry for the TMI moment but it's a big part of the story, here). Really, there's no way anyone will buy it, and I've already checked with the two most popular dress donation charities (Brides Against Breast Cancer & the I Do Foundation) . Neither charity would take a dress in my condition. I do NOT want to keep the dress. It's taking up a ton of valuable space in my closet it's just pointless keeping it around. I'd want my future daughter to choose her own. It has no sentimental value to me because I have tons of pictures of it to remember it by. I'm not crafty in the slightest, nor are any of my friends. I can't reuse or sell it, so are there any charities that would take it as it is?? Should I try a thrift store? What should I do? If no one will take it, how do I get rid of it?? *My bra, slip, tiara, and veil are all in perfect condition. Is there anywhere I could possibly sell or donate those?? *By the way, I know I can just toss it. I just want to make sure there's nothing else I can do with it first.
