Wedding Photography? I'm not sure if this is the appropriate place for this, but I'm desperate! I am in the process of finding a photography for my wedding in July of 2007. Everyone's prices are absolutely outrageous and I'm on a strict budget. All I want is the photgrapher and a copy of a CD with all of the pictures on it. If there are any non-professional or professional photographers out there serving Michigan, please let me know. If you could provide prices and a website if you have any and a way to contact you that would be awesome. Thanks so much!!!!
NH wedding photography pricing? Does anyone have an idea of the going rate for wedding photography (basic packages) in NH? I'm getting quotes from $ 1600- 2400 and have no idea what is a "good" rate.
wedding photography price? I have a friend that does photography and she is going to do my husbands and I's photography at our vowle renewl ceremony. She is charging us 300$ for 100 pictures. She is going to give us the cd and let us print what we want. is this a good deal. she has to drive an hour and a half on sunday. shes very good. the pictures will be unedited, but I have training in that already.
Question about wedding photography pricing for relative? My husband and I own a photography business in Pennsylvania. My cousin, who lives in Florida has asked us to do her wedding. She wants our $1,000 package. What would you charge? We are figuring to go down there for about 4 days (driving), we are looking at about $750 for the short trip (since we wouldn't be doing any activities or anything, just hanging out with family.) Would you just charge that and do the photos as a gift, or would you figure in something on top of the travel cost too? No, we wouldn't have been attending if we weren't asked to photograph...due to expenses of travel and time off for our Mon-Fri jobs
What Would You Pay For Wedding Photography? Based upon your current income? Also from a qualitative perspective what in your mind is the right price for wedding photography regardless of income? Based upon what you would pay what would you expect for your money?
Whats an average price on wedding photography? Getting married this summer, and have a few appointments this weekend with some photographers, and was curious what the average price everyone pays for this stuff is. Thanks! Just wanted to add, the photographer we really want is about $3000, but a few people told me thats outragious. Wasnt sure if thats the case or not. Also, live in the Portland, OR area.
Found advice on here about trying to start a wedding photography business. Found advice on here about trying to start a wedding photography business. The advice I found was do not get a business license at first and try a couple of weddings and see if you are going to stick with it or not. All may not agree on it but my question is in California it sounds like the total price charged is taxable. Is that correct? Then if so how do you report sales tax if you don't have a license? And if the reply is don't then I would ask about my bank, they opened us a business checking account without a business license and or fictitious name. Does the bank report income deposited into that to any one? I am only asking in case this business does not take off what do I do about sales tax?
Are prices for a wedding in Brazil expensives? Hi! Everybody. I'm a photographer who wish to work in weddings. I'm brazilian from Rio de Janeiro, and I think that is a great oportunity to enter in this market (wedding photography) because the prices are very expensives in my opinion. See this (prices are converted from Real to Dollar): Promoter: US$ 2,000-10,000. Bride's dress: US$ 2,000-15,000. Photography: US$ 1,000 (album)-3,500(wedding book). Video/DVD: US$ 1,000-4,000. Musicians: US$ 2,000-15,000. Buffet: US$ 1,500-30,000. Luxury car: US$ 500-US$ 3,000. Place: from US$ 500 to more than US$ 50,000! Some weddings includes climated (refrigerator) for very large ambient, 3D screen, light carpet (for dancing), orchestra, etc and cost more than US$ 150,000 dollars. Is it normal in your country? How much cost a cerimony wedding in your city?
Is this a reasonable price for a wedding photography package? I found this photographer near my hometown and I really like his style and fun attitude only his package seems very generous in relation to the price as other photographers in the area are much much more expensive, whats you opinions? I e-mailed him and he is very friendly and helpful - 8 hours of coverage - Pre-wedding engagement shoot on wedding location 10x8" print - 3 Digital negative DVDs (make your own prints, hi-res, ipod ready images and wedding story movie - Wedding story movie on separate DVD video disc - Hand crafted printed memory book linen or leather of best photos of day - Complete 6x4" set proof and proof album - printed guest cards (engagement picture on cards) - Visit to venue pre-wedding to discuss shoots All for £895 (extra charge for travel outside city) not much also what is a negative DVD? and what is a wedding story and how is it different to dvdv slide show of pictures? as you can see I know nothing about wedding photography here is his website if you fancy a peek: http://www.grahamcrichton.com/ Yes it does seem alot but It is the biggest package he offers and most exspensive I dont think any of this is videographed, its all pictures on DVDs from what I gather.
professionals please! competitor issues concerning wedding photography? Okay, I taught a friend how to use her camera and gave her some pointers on photography. She was supposed to help me shoot a rehearsal and wedding at a winery. She didn't show, which looked bad on me considering I had told the bride to expect 2 at the rehearsal and 3 at the wedding. Later she asked when my next wedding was and if she could help me with that one. I explained that after 2 times of leaving me hanging and making me look bad with a bride, that she would have to get her help else where. Low and behold she has opened a studio here instead of 300 miles away like she said she would. A potential bride called me and told me another photographer had a wedding price list exactly like mine and I had her to forward me the info. It was my (thought she was) friend's studio. I gave the bride a link to my online portfolio and the phone numbers of some past brides. Well, she gave me her credit card and booked her wedding. Now, what would you do about the other photographer? Well the good thing is, I have contracts going back over a year with what is on my price list. Her studio just opened. hmmm, fork her lawn. too bad she lives in an apartment. oh did i mention she shoots out of her home?
Any suggestions on reasonable wedding photography in New Jersey? Hi. I'm getting married November 14th, 2009 and i have been researching photographers for awhile now and i can't seem to find any that are reasonably priced. I understand that you get what you pay for and all but my budget isn't that big. I was wondering if anyone knew of any reasonably priced photographers in New Jersey. I would appreciate any and all suggestions. Thank You :)
Destination Wedding Photography - thoughts and ideas? How do I find a wedding photographer that would come to the all inclusive resort? What are some ball park prices for this sort of service? I was thinking about just getting everyone disposable cameras. I wouldn't expect all the pictures to be fantastic but it would be pretty cool to get different perspectives of the wedding and such. Several of my family members do quite well with photography, so I'm wondering if it would be reasonable to have one of them take the more official pictures. What was your experience and what would you recommend?
Hiya does anyone have any tips for my new photography business? Hi ya does anyone have any tips? I've just started my own photography business, i'm nervous, excited scared, ready? How much would you expect to pay for wedding photography? I'm starting a photography business & am trying to get a feel of how I should do my pricing. I want to be reasonably priced, but not cheap. Also, I'm wanting to do some pro bono work for a couple weddings to get my name out there and add to my portfolio. What kind of places might I be able to advertise this? I'm located in the Western part of Tennessee.

What's a good Price for a photographer to charge for a wedding??`? I am a photographer who just graduated from college. I have a degree in Photojournalism but, I'd like to get myself started in Wedding Photography... I was wondering what people would think is way to expensive to pay for a wedding photographer or what is a really good price to pay for?? I know I'll set my own prices and such, but I was just wondering what people really think, since the customers opinion is the most important... Wedding Photography - UK? I am a professional award winning wedding Photographer and I have been trying to find some happy medium with prices and the services that I offer, so that I don't work at a loss all the time. I want to give a lot, but I also need to have a life as well, Each wedding is around 3 weeks work and I do mostly enjoy my work. So My question is: How much would you pay for your wedding photography and what would you expect to have for it? To give you an idea, wedding photography consists of Insurance, marketing and advertising, website updates and equipment. A wedding typically consists of: 2-3 Meetings several hours of emails and telephone calls A day preparing my kit The wedding day (12 hours) 4 Hours downloading and backing up the photos/video A week of photo editing Three days building a per view website and albums Two days album and image editing (as client requires) 4-8 hours making a slide show 2 hours ordering shipping packing and checking the albums when they arrive. A typical package would be a day shooting a wedding, all the digital negatives, a 70 page album with 70 pictures and a DVD slide show set to music. Thanks in advance - this is a UK only question

Wedding Photography Question -? Here is my problem, This is my second year advertising my wedding photography. Last year I did something called "stuff its" at a bridal show. I was able to make a flyer and print 1300+ copies of it. And before the show they would place a 1 flyer in each wedding bag for the show. So when people came into the show they each got a bag that they could carry around and put stuff in from vendors at the show. So this year I am doing it again in my home town of Cleveland with 1700 Flyers for one show. They have another show in Akron that is only 1000 flyers. I have to pay the same about of $495 for each show, to have my flyers placed. Plust the cost to print them. So the difference would be this - $1584.09 to make 2700 flyers and advertise at both the Cleveland and Akron Shows, or $902.79 to print 1700 flyers and advertise at just the Cleveland show ? A price difference of $681.30. Is that worth it for 700 less flyers at another show ? Should I do both or just one show ??? Please advise. I know this is not the business section, IT IS a WEDDING question. And I need answers. I have to decide today what to do. I have it posted in business as well. But havent heard anything yet.

Wedding photos - studio photography? Has anybody else had their wedding photo done at a studio instead of at the wedding? Did you do this the day of the wedding or the previous or next day? Tips? I about dropped when calling around for pricing to have a photographer at my wedding. Even the lowest price is unacceptable since it doesn't even include any final photos (just proofs). I have no objection to people making a living - just doesn't fit in my budget. I have at least 3 people who could take photos at the actual wedding - they just aren't very skilled at portrait style photography. Next question - is it reasonable to put into the contract that I want the negatives after say, a year? I believe that is the only way to prove copyright if you later want duplicates and the photographer has gone missing or out-of-business or to do fun things (such as put us on a cup or a clock at Walgreens photo). Please note: my wedding budget is $2,800, so definitely not extravagant. Oops. ENTIRE wedding budget is $2,800. Just an FYI - we have only 30 guests. The cost of wedding and reception is going to be about $1,500. The remaining are the wedding rings and photography and whatever else I have forgotten. A larger budget is not possible as I'm buying a house in November and the wedding is just after Christmas.
Cheap Wedding Photography In Bristol? Does anyone know of a cheap wedding photographer in Bristol? I am getting married next year and wedding photographers are so expensive. Has anyone used one in Bristol and found them really good & really fairly priced??????
Wedding photography trend? I just talked to a wedding photographer and she didn't mention anything about getting a "proofs" with any of the packages she offers.. The only thing she did say was that the photos would be avaliable online. I looked around a little bit online and found that some photographers are listing proofs and some are listing "online album". Is this a new trend with the online albums or am I getting jipped?? I think proofs should be included in the price...I am paying these people enough money! (lol)
Rate this wedding photography? What do you think of this photographer's work? http://www.eloisefifield.co.uk/page3.htm We're considering hiring her for our wedding next year. She's currently charging COST PRICE because she's using the photo shoots to compile a portfolio. Shealunaria, I'm sorry you feel that way, because I think the portraiture and wedding galleries are by far the best on the site. Fizzy Stuff - I don't agree with some of your points, esp the angled shots, and the B&W shots w/coloured bits. I think those styles look really nice, but obviously people have different tastes. I'll discuss what styles I want when I meet with her. Hopefully she will be able to show me bigger collection than is on the site. Thanks for opinions so far BTW - it's good to see what other people think.
wedding photography in MANCHESTER, UK ? i want to look for a wedding photographer in manchester, cheshire area but i don't know where to look and what are the differences?? what price should i be looking at? any recommendations??
Wedding photography in Utah? Where is the best place (preferably free) to do bridals in Utah? Thanksgiving point just jacked up their price and I cant afford it anymore.
I'd like to do wedding photography/portraits, what kind of camera is best for me? I have a Nikon n70 film camera-just the body and the lens it came with. First off am I good with just that or should I buy a new lenses, etc, etc to give it an upgrade? It seems like a nice fully manual film camera, but when I go into camera shops I see a huge price difference. Digital SLR's can be as much as $1000 easily. Is it really worth the money, or should I just stick with Photoshop? (Sorry, a lot of questions in one :] )
Wedding Limo Prices in Southern California??? I am getting married this summer and I dunno if I should get a limo or not. I'm having the ceremony and two reception (Lunch and Dinner) because our parent is taking over our reception and is paying for it. We only have to worry about the ceremony, flower and photography. I was thinking maybe I have the limo driver pick us up from home around 8am and take us to the ceremony and lunch reception. Probably have the driver drop us off at the lunch reception and have our family or friends drop us off to get ready for the dinner reception. so I guess probably 5 hours with the limo driver. Gosh, it sounds kinda complicated and such a hassle.
For a wedding photographer....what are the advantages/disadvantages of having digital photography or reg. film I'm getting married next year....we have 2 wonderful recommendations for this photographer who is a "Master Photographer" (not really sure what that means), but he does not do digital photography *at all* because he feels that when you print a digital print out, "it doesn't do his pictures justice" (his words). My parents really want to go with him, they have seen his work, and I have mentioned, he was highly recommended by two sources (one a family, and the other a videopgrapher we will probably hire). Anyway, here is the "conflict" of sorts....my fiancee (who works in the computer field and is VERY into computers and digital everything) wants us to have a photographer who does digital proofs. Is there a major difference between digital wedding pics and film pics? Is price a factor? I know the best way to find someone is by word of mouth recommendations, but my parents are very reluctant to go with someone they have never heard about, & my fiancee wants someone who does digital. So, help! I would like to see what the major differences if any are, and any of your experiences with either would be great to hear if you are willing to share. Also, isn't digital how the future is pretty much going ot be? My friend just got married, and she sent us the username ID and password to her wedding pic website, and the pics looked great. We got to see all her proofs, and order some if we wanted. But, I don't understand how someone can be so reluctant to go digital, especially if this is how people do photos now mostly. Just to get back to my main question again: Why would you NOT want to go with someone who will do digital wedding photos, and why WOULD you go to someone who will NOT do digital wedding photos? Hopes that makes sense....I've just never had to plan a wedding before. This is my first, and hopefully last one!!! I've got to make everyone happy, the groom of course, and my parents who are footing the bill. And I want nice pics too of course.
Where Can I Get Nice Yet Affordable Wedding Memory Books Made? My wedding photographer is offering a pretty penny to create a memory book for me but I feel I've spent so much in photography as it is. Is there someplace where I can get one made for a reasonable price? P.S. I love the story book wedding books and zookbinders, but I know they're expensive. Any amount of help would be appreciated. KC, the pretty penny I'm referring to is the memory book itself, not the photography. My photographer did a fantastic job and in addition I am purchasing several prints from them. And I would expect them to work their behinds off without feeling pressure because it's their passion. After all, are they not getting paid to do what they love? I don't know how you feel about your profession, but if you feel pressure from your clients and have this sort of attitude, perhaps you should find another job.
Looking for Wedding Photographers in Houston, what is the average price, what to ask potential photographer? Things are starting to get a little hectic and need some help!!! We are looking for a wedding photographer around the Houston, TX area. Any newly weds with advice on picking a photographers? There are so many to choose from! What should I look for? What are the differences between photographers? How much is the average price (hourly or whole day)? What does a average wedding photography package include? What questions should we ask our potential photographer prior to booking them? Do I need a videographer? etc.... Many of my friends said that the amount of $$ they spent on some capturing the entire wedding was not worth it, maybe clips and certain highlights of the actual ceremony. I have some friends who probably watched the video once and spent a couple of hundred of dollars on it. Whats your opinnion?? If possible please send links to sites that may help us. :) THANKS!!!
How much should i charge for photography? I was recently offered a job as a photographer to take pictures of a wedding. My teacher recommended me to a lady getting married and It's just for an hour and they really don't have a professional photographer at their wedding. The bride wants me to offer a price, what should it be? So far people have been telling me a hundred. I also haven't started a portfolio but im i have an eye for getting good pics. I also haven't started a portfolio but im have an eye for getting good pics.
Which wedding photographer would you choose? What is more important to you...a wedding photographer that is well known, has lots of previous wedding experience and charges a lot of money or one that has only photographed one wedding, but has done more with nature photography and is more reasonable in price? Thanks for your answers in advance. Keep in mind the quality would be the same with either photographer.
Where can i take the best in-budget in-studio wedding pictures in LA. ??? Actually am looking for an in-store wedding photography studio where they provide me&my husband with some wedding outfits to try out and have pictures taken in them.We thought of doing it again for for our 1st Anniversary. We have been to Temple City(near Pasadena) to checkout the prices. But they were like overpriced for me.Their regular price comes around $1200 for an 12x15(20)photos, 20x24(1)portrait, soft-copy of those selected 20 pics. So can some one tell me where can i find such studios within my budget of $800 in and around LA. Or can some one suggest some tips regarding this.
How can I improve the white balance in my photography? I am a semi-pro photographer that needs some tips on getting stellar white balance. I use the cannon rebel. I think that my balance is ok, but I look at wedding photos that have stellar colors and I would like to know how to achieve it. Also, is the expo disk worth the purchase price.
Photography packages? Okay. I've been working hard for a couple years on photography, gave it some thought & now I'm starting to do weddings. I'm 16, but certified. Anyways, I need your help on wedding package prices. Just like a general idea of what I might be charging. I'm thinking around $550 for the first package: 2 8x10's 8 4x5's 6 5x7's Does anyone know anything about putting pics on a canvas?
Average costs for professional wedding photo's....? I have a close friend who is trying to branch out on his own doing photography (mainly wedding) He has 10+ years experience. The company he is with now charges $15.00 per photo for a 4x6. This latest wedding he has done (on his own) he charged $8 per 4x6 photo. His client is complaining that that is too high, so he lowered it to $6. Can anyone with experience in this share what you believe are fair prices? Thanks!
im taking pics for someones wedding...what do i charge? im a photography student, and i just was wondering what people think a reasonable price would be. i will shoot the rehersal dinner, pre-wedding, wedding, and reception.i will put it all on a disc and they can print whatever they want. so what should i charge?
Which of these two wedding photographers would you choose? (1) a 50 year old with hundreds of weddings under his belt. His work looks pretty standard for photographers with his experience. Has typical experienced wedding photographer personality - not bad, not great. No fashion/model photography experience. (1) a young 30 year old with hipper, sexier, edgier work. He has a 3 or 4 dozen weddings under his belt - all his work looks good. Has significant fashion/model photography experience. Because of age, appears more fun to be around. Price is about $500 more than the older gentlemen. Packages provide similar albums and photos.
Affordable photographers in Melbourne? Any recommendations? Hi! I'm planning a vacation to Australia with my boyfriend soon. We're thinking of taking photographs professionally at some of Melbourne's scenic places or old churches/buildings. I've looked online and the prices they charged for pre-wedding or potrait photography sessions are rather pricey. Can anyone recommend me on more affordable photographers in Melbourne or student photographers who can spend two - three hours for the photo shooting session. May I know what is the fee rate? Thank you so much! -Malaysia-
Can anyone recommend a reputable company for a Oahu Destination Wedding? My Fiance and I are planning a destination wedding (with abou100 guest attending) I have researched so many wedding companys that offer beach wedding packages. We are planning a reception following the ceremony. Can anyone recommend a company to provide a beach front wedding (minister, flowers, chairs, photography etc) that reputable? We are looking for quality and professionalism. Also, any recommendations for travel agents or company that can provide my wedding party and guests with decent pricing since there are quite a few people going? Great group rate discounts? Thank you, I just feel like there is so much to do and I don't know where to start.. (I haven't even chosen wedding colors) I have reserved the "Halekulani Hau Terrace and Lanai" for the reception but have a week to give the deposit. Has anyone used this area before or suggest otherwise? Thanks..
Photography questions!!? Okay, I'm getting married next August 2 (I'm so excited!!!!!) and I have already got a lot of things booked and ready to go. I like to get things done. Anyway, one thing I haven't done is hire a photographer. I want pictures, LOTS of pictures, to remember this wedding by. I am definitely a picture person. I want to make sure I get the best deal for the best price. SO, what kind of questions do I need to ask when interviewing photographers? What are ways that they rip you off? How can I avoid being ripped off? Just tell me everything you think I need to know. Because that is one thing that I know nothing about. And if there is one thing that has to go right at my wedding, it is the photography! Anyway, all advice and suggestions welcome! Thanks!
Fort Worth Photography? I'm looking for a photographer for my wedding day. All I need is somebody to come to the location of my wedding, and take photos during the ceremony and the formal shots immediately after, so really just two hours is all I need. I haven't been able to find a photographer with JUST hourly rates. Also, I would prefer to just have all pictures on cd, so I can have them printed whenever and however I want, as opposed to having to order pictures from the photographer. If anybody has any suggestions where I might this, or even something similar, at a fairly low price, it would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance! If you don't have a REAL answer, please don't bother. Thanks again.
Which wedding photographer would you go with? I am having a hard time deciding....? They are the same price. Choice #1's website is undergoing some construction so it just has some samples of their pics. For choice #2, just click on the wedding/engagement link when you get on the site. Having a hard time deciding so if you have time and have gone through this or know about photography, let me know your opinions. Thanks so much!!! 1. www.everlastingmoments.com 2. www.wilsonsarkisphotography.com
shall I do everything with astyla studio? I am recently engaged, and bought my dream wedding gown in this store called astyla studio. I am satisfied with their services and comfortable with their consultants, I have been to other bridal store, this store is quite impressive. they also offer wedding photography, wedding video, hairstyling , bridal makeup... I love their wedding albums, also the price is right for me. but I don't know if I shall do everything with them, is it safe to put all eggs into one basket? I really want to, it is so easy for me to do everything one place. any suggestions?
Venture photography - anyone been ? Hi my husband and I recently got married and unfortunatly our photographer sucked!!! We have no nice pictures of us. I have booked in with venture photography near me and I was wondering if any one has been if so; what was the expierence like? what do they make you do to get the shots? did you have to take anything with you? and did you like the end product? I am wearing my wedding dress which is cream and silver will this show up oddly on the white background? We are also taking every day outfits. I know the prices are quite expensive but I am very good with sticking to my guns and we only want 3 photos out of it, my husband is a Mac operator so he is going to make copies and resize them - is this possible from the print they supply? thanks in advance.
Photography? I love taking pictures.Of my dogs,my niece, nature, sunsets, you name it I've taken a picture of it. I was wondering what kind of camera do you need to have semi-professional pictures? What is the price range? And how can I experiment with photography without spending over $400 to see if I really like it? I would want to specialize in wedding photos,Portraits,High school Senior pictures etc. I know my way around paintshop pro very well, and I've done photo imaging in the past and I am quite talented. Any advice to break into this field would be appreciated!
How could I become a wedding photographer? I live in a part of the country where wedding photographers get paid a lot and are in demand. I've been a very capable sports photographer over the years, taking official team and player photos and have had hundreds of photos, good and not-so-good, published in local newspapers. I don't consider myself an artist when it comes to photography, but am capable at the least, a good businessman and could undercut the local photographers in price. What steps would I need to take to start getting wedding clients? Thanks for any help. Thanks for the advice. I'm in my mid-30s, so would be uncomfortable being someone's aid. Again, I have shot team sports, so would not do a horrible job with these pics. I'm also good at organizing people. I could bring a 19-year-old student photographer with me as backup. I'm thinking of billing my services more as "photo-journalism." I live in a pricey part of the country, but have heard there are online firms that will assemble wedding books for me. Thanks again!
How many wedding pictures do you usually get? I shot my cousin's wedding last weekend. They had NO budget & asked if I would do it. I am NOT a professional but i love photography & I thought I did a pretty good job, especially for the price $0 :o/ I took over 3000 pictures but most were doubles & some were unusable (closed eyes, too dark etc...) after editing they got over 450 pictures. Is that good? Is that too little? I feel like they were looking for more. I was there for about 7 hours. What is the norm for finished product pictures? Thanks in advance. :o) They got 450 edited pictures. I have a little over 3000 untouched pictures. I am gonna give them all of them. Thanks for all your help & kind words. You guys made me feel better. :o)
