What are some ideas for wedding party pictures? My friend is getting married in January, and as her maid of honor, I've been asked to get ideas for the wedding party pictures to be held after the ceremony. Living in a suburban town and lacking an extravagant landscape, what are some ideas for a location for bridesmaids and groomsmen pictures? The wedding party members are all in their early to mid-twenties, so we're looking for a cute, rather silly approach to the photoshoot. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I'm getting married next year and I was thinking of having the men in jeans with the normal nice black jacket and tie. they would be wearing either nice white tennis shoes or the standard black shoes i can't find any pictures of a wedding party like this do you have any? the ladies I want short dresses not the regular long ones we were thinking of the color yellow but who knows. and it's not a country wedding but I'll at the pics anyway haha

Colors for Parents as the wedding party? I am having a small wedding in August 2007. We have only incorporated our children (age 9 & 2) within our wedding but we are also having our parents at the head table with us. We plan to take the 'wedding party' pictures with our parents and siblings. We are thinking of bright reds, yellows, and oranges for flower colors. My dress in Dimond White with an Oyster sash. Our daughter is wearing burgandy. All the men are wearing Tuxes (burgandy tie, etc. for groom & Mercury for the others) but I am stuck on the MOB & MOG. If they wear burgandy as well, our daughter won't stand out as much but under the circumstances, is that okay? Should both mothers dress colors be the same? And in what color? Our photographer suggusted we treat them all as our wedding party. So if they don't wear a co-odinating color, the mothers will look left out (since the men will all blend well) What can you suggest?? PLEASE HELP!!! Parents live in 8 hours from eachother. And 4 - 12 hours away from bride. We will be taking fun pictures as other brides do with their wedding parties.

Struggling to find pictures of My Wedding Brial Party Idea??? We are having a beach wedding and my birdesmany are wearing pale canary yellow. I want my fiance in white jacket,pants, and under shirt with a tropical flower, the groosmen are going to wear the same as my fiance but with a yellow undershirt as well as my dad. All without ties. This is what I am planning anyways, however I cannot find a picture even remotly close to how this is going to look. The groomsmen and my fiance and I are speard out among three states so I can't really line them up together and get a good idea. Anyone had a beach wedding and really like their bridal party style in their pictures and couls help, or know of any place I could find pics of beach bridal parties??? Where are some great spots in St. Louis for wedding pictures? We are currently getting pictures taken at Tower Grove Park, but are looking for another location as well. Are there any great locations where there won't be tons of other wedding parties taking pictures. I don't want to go to Forest Park, Keiner Plaza, The Arch, Botanical Gardens, Busch Stadium. etc. I don't want to have to fight through the crowds to get pictures. Are there any unique and not so well known locations that would be nice for wedding pictures. Thanks for the help.

Unique Party pictures? I am searching for unique/different ideas for wedding party pictures. It can be as simple as the wedding party looking at the camera when the groom is kissing the bride's forehead. We also plan on going to a park, so playground, baseball fields and hockey rinks are options for playing. Any ideas or pictures you've seen in the past? Step-mother in wedding party? Several years ago, my fiance's mother died very tragically. A few months after, his father had his new girlfriend move in, and less than a year after he re-married. Mostly because of the three teenage kids involved, the mother's side of the family has been extremely upset ever since. Now that we are getting married, we are trying to bring everyone together without offense. What role should his step-mother play in the wedding? Is it right to ask her to not be in the wedding party/pictures? She is a very nice woman but we don't want to hurt anyone. I should probably say that all three kids have a civil relationship with her but it's not in any way a mother/child relationship. She didn't participate in raising the kids, she stays in her room with the father all day, every day.

Why is it good luck for it to rain on your wedding day? It's suppose to rain on our wedding day and everyone has told me that it's good luck if it does. I'm not bummed about it as I love the rain but it's just that we were going to a park down the road from our wedding/reception to take the wedding party pictures that day, but we can always adjust that. Would it be weird if I wore a party dress to my wedding instead of a traditional wedding dress? We have decided to have just a reception, and a small private wedding. But would it be weird for me to wear a party dress to the wedding?And take pictures in that dress? The wedding dress probably would end up in the back of the closet anyway. The only wedding i have been in they had done it before and im sure because it does take a little while and if it was done after the ceremony the guests would have to wait for the wedding party at the reception. I used JVPHOTO's from Tulsa, OK and my wedding pictures turned out dark,blurry and out of focus. What do I do? Jennifer Voss with Voss Photography from Tulsa,OK charged me $850 for a package with unlimited amount of photos,engagement session,11 X 16 mounted and a photo album. I got my wedding pictures back 2 months after my wedding and was just very upset. I paid for quality which is not what I got. I mentioned to her how upset I was and she began to tell me that her camera messed up and that she had to send it in to get repaired. I don't even think she was going to tell me something went wrong during the wedding ceremony.The pictures before the wedding ceremony are amazing but,the one's with family friends. wedding party, and my husband & I are blury,dark, & distorted pictures. I asked for a refund of my money and basically she responded saying that she did her job. Someone please help me. Should I contact a lawyer because this is totally unexceptiable. A picture is worth a thousand words and with this picture's they look like they were taken with a disposable camera.

Wedding pictures later? Do you think it would be a good idea to just take a few pictures between the ceremony and the reception then do the rest a week or two after the wedding? We'd still do all the normal ones during the ceremony and ALL the wedding party and family shots. Also, we're having the wedding at our home church so we can get access to it to take pictures later. We're having an evening wedding and I feel that it would be rude to make our guests wait too long (and I KNOW that our photographer is slower than some and takes 2-3 of each pose) between the ceremony and the reception. We are NOT going to change our photographer. She is providing her services free of charge. What could be better than that? She's a great photographer and has a LOT of experience, she's just slower than most when it comes to taking wedding pictures.

Taking wedding picture in a summer wedding? I am getting married in June 21, 2008 and we are having the wedding and the reception in a same place but different salons. The wedding starts at 5:00pm and our original plan was to take an outdoor wedding party pictures before the wedding arround 3:00pm. How long does it normally take for the bride and the wedding party to get ready? ? I want pictures of us getting ready, before the ceremony, during the ceremony, and at the reception. Wanting ways to entertain wedding guests till bridal party can make apperance? We are wanting to do pictures after the wedding but do not want to keep guests waiting. What do you think about taking pictures before the wedding? I hate when I have to wait forever for a couple to finish taking pictures before the reception gets started. Who has copyrights, A photography studio or the photographer? I hired a photography studio for my daughter's wedding, the photographer who took the pictures no longer works for them. This photographer has sent pictures, to one of the girls in my daughters wedding party, pictures from her wedding to her myspace account. I want my dog to be in my wedding party? Why do I have to rent a suit being in the wedding party? I wasn't raised in a traditional north american home that says we must comform to the all the traditions that so many north americans think they must do. I was asked to be the best man for a friends wedding. Part of this entailed me being required to spend hundreds of dollars on renting a suit that they want me to wear so that they can have the picture perfect wedding as they see it. In talking with my mother about it, this really rubbed her the wrong way. Asking someone to an outrageous amount for a suit for someone elses wedding. Her thinking is that if they want everyone wearing a certain style, that they should pay for it. The wedding party on the other hand is asking/making all those who are wearing the suits/dresses to pay for them. So my question is... is this a normal practice in north america (us and canada do the same thing for weddings) to make the wedding party pay for your own wedding? If so, what is the reasoning behind it, or what historical reason can be given? In one of the answers someone said that I would do the same to others... thats not the case. I tried to make this point in my description. I am not going to have the wedding parties and cakes and catered dinners and such as everyone else has. So the idea that I would place this expectation on someone in return else is irrelevant. I think this is part of what my mom disagrees with. I know that the immediate answer would be 'well thats your choice' .. but that is not the case here. Sure I am honored I was asked. It just seems strange to her to force others to pay for what is suppose to be 'your day'. If you want your day a certain way, why 'impose on others' to pay for it? When I made the reference to hundreds of dollars I was talking about the party as a whole. The rental will cost me $156. Everyone must have the same suits, same dresses, etc etc. as they picked out. I guess when you put a present on top of that you reach hundreds of dollars though :) As for the idea of declining... we are 2 months away from the wedding date. I don't think my friend would have anybody else to chose as the best man. Fact is though nobody said there was a price tag attached to being named the best man.. not until just a week ago when I was told I have to go for fitting and oh yeah, you need to pay $156 for your 1 day rental we picked out. So these answers that simply say 'I can always say no' are missing the point of my question. Hey Miss J and Boston Get a clue... I haven't said anything to my friend about this and joined him in getting fitted yesterday. This question is more a matter of helping get an answer to my mother. Is it inappropriate to wear fire engine red to a wedding? I am a photographer just starting out and this is my first wedding. I'm not a guest or in the wedding party, I will just be taking the pictures. My T-shirt that I made for my business with the logo on it is fire engine red and I will be wearing that with blue denim capris and Doc Martin sandals. Friday Wedding? ok so My fiance and I decided to have our wedding on a Friday. The wedding and reception are at the same place but the wedding is outside in the gazebo. I'm a little confused on times. I was thinking about having the wedding party take pictures before the wedding but I don't want to see my fiance until the actual ceremony. But if we don't have the ceremony start until 6:00 and the reception at 7:00 will we have enough time to take pictures in between? Or should I just do the bridal party pictures(Bridesmaids and Bride then Groosman and Groom) before the ceremony and then pictures of Groom and Bride and some of the whole wedding party after the ceremony?? While the guests are waiting there will be cocktail hour and a slideshow. ***Pls no rude answers I am asking for help not put downs thanks***

Is it normal to have a wedding party with your husband being in it but you were not even asked? My new sister in law and my husband's brother chose my husbands cousin over me to acompany him in the wedding party. Apparently it was a last minute since her cousin canceled and she tought that nobody else would fit in the dress for her cousin but my husbands cousin. She never talked to me about it. I didn't know that my husband will be walking the isle in the church and take pictures without me. I felt very left out. My other sister in law says that in America that's OK.For some reason, I just can't get over it.I feel very hurt as if it was set up. I can't even imagine talking ever again to my new sister in law. Need help - I'm taking photos @ my friend's wedding? I'm not a photography student, nor do I own expensive equipment. Husband's brother getting married, my kids are in the wedding party...? My hubby's brother is getting married and he asked all 4 of my kids to be in the wedding party. Of course, I said yes, but my mind flashed back to my wedding, remembering my little flower girls and how exhausted they were. Am I invited to the wedding? A friend of mine from grade school (we're now college graduates) is getting married. We were best friends for about 3 years, then drifted some as we went to different high schools and different colleges. We rarely talk or see each other now, but it's always a treat when we do. She is getting married in July, and has set up a website with details, directions, pictures, wedding party, etc. etc. etc. On the website, there is a section to RSVP your attendance at the wedding and reception. Even though I haven't gotten an official invitation in the mail, if I was sent the link to her website, would it be out of line to RSVP that I am attending? It seems to me she wouldn't have included an RSVP option if she hadn't intended to effectively "invite" everyone to whom she sent the website link??? There is no password for the RSVP section. Anyone can use it. Geez, Sharon F... are you assuming that just ANYONE who received a link to the website would feel free to RSVP?? You may disagree, but I know the people with whom I associate myself wouldn't RSVP if the bride's mother's co-worker sent them the link. Most people (at least most I come across) have enough common sense not to RSVP unless they were sent the link directly by the bride. So for those who can't read... What colours of suits should the men wear for a spring wedding? I have chosen a neutral colour for my Bridesmaids (Latte) and would like the men in the wedding party to wear a slightly darker version of the girls. How to nicely present a letter? (Wedding party gifts)? As a thank you to our parents for all their support in our lives leading up to our wedding, we wrote them each a letter thanking them, and telling them what qualities of theirs we most hope to have in our marriage. How would I wrap and present these to them at the rehearsal dinner when we hand out the other wedding party gifts? I plan on printing them on nice paper (they were typed on the computer) but I don't know where to go from there. I don't really like the idea of a picture frame, but I don't want to fold the paper just in case they do want to frame/display it. I think it's too cheesy to do a double frame with the letter on one side and the other side blank for a wedding photo of us. Any other ideas? [Note: when we graduated from college, we got them big frames with a bunch of openings and did photo collages of us through our lives, so another picture frame less than a year later seems unoriginal.]

Is it a terrible thing to tell my sister inlaw she can't be in my wedding party because...? She is too fat? Here's the situation. After all her friends backed out of her wedding party and she was desperate for someone to be in her wedding party, I was volunteered. She said, "No, you are too tall and thin and you'll make me look bad on my wedding because I'm so short and fat." She really is a whale. I'm having my brother in the wedding party, but if she wants to know why I won't include her, should I tell her because she's too much of a blimp and I wouldn't want her to stick out and ruin the pictures? How to handle being jealous of not being in a wedding? My uncle is getting married in May. I love his girlfriend, she is awesome! But she invited my 2 younger cousins to be flower girls, brother to be the ring bearer, and her 2 step-sibs to be jr. bm & jr. gm. She has asked my mom to be a bm, and her sis's to be bm, and my uncle to be a gm. and my father an usher. Me and my younger cousin are the only 2 not in the wedding! I am almost 13 and my younger cous. (boy) is about 10. Her 2 step-sibs are my age. I am jealous because it feels like me and my youn. cous. are left out, like we're the leftovers. Even if she does put us as guestbook attendants or somethinjg, it's not the same as being in the wedding party. No pictures taken, no picking out fancy dresses, no hairstyles, makeup, compliments, no rehersal dinner. It feels like we are not special or meaningful. We aren't the cutest kids, but I want to be in the wedding! Do you think I have a right to be jealous? Or why my soontobe aunt didn't put me in the wedding? Thanks. I do know it is my aunt/uncles day. I am so happy for them. I still love them, and treat them the exact same way. I would never tell them or be rude to my other cousins. As I stand here tonight, surrounded by angel and star balloons, steamers and pictures, I can’t help but think of the 4 angels I have of my own. Though it may not always seem like this, they truly are the center of my world, the apple of my eye and what rises and sets my sun. I’ve seen them go through both good times and bad, but no matter what, work their hardest to come out on top. They’re what make me smile, laugh, cry, scream in both excitement and fear, believe and trust. I use to hope for a son to do “guy stuff” with, but after raising 4 daughters, taking them to football games and hearing them scream louder than me at visitor fans, show the boys who’s boss on the play ground, play sports, go crabbing and fishing, get all dressed up and walk down the stair case, dance on stage and wave to me, hanging up their endless amounts of pictures and paintings and hearing them laugh, I’m glad I never had one. To my 4 baby girls: Jaclyn Victoria, Christine Gabrielle, Erin Janine & Taylor Nicole. Though you are all grown up, both finishing up and getting ready to head off to college, able to make your own decisions, fix your mistakes and open doors to the future, you will always be baby girls to me. I need ideas for throwing a 30th wedding aniversity party for my parents.? I know that the big ones tend to be 25th or 50th but I was still in HS for their 25th. Now that I am out of school and have some money I would like to throw my parents a big arty for their 30th but I need some help with ideas. Wedding Flowers? 2 part question: I need some ideas for centerpieces for a Christmas themed wedding.. pictures would help. Also, we are having a small reception in the same place as the rehearsal dinner. Only the wedding party will be at the rehearsal, will it be okay to reuse some of the flowers? My ceremony flowers will be burgundy calla lillies, it's outside right on the river, so we need very little in the floral arrangements.

Moral dilema, probably just selfishness but...? I am planning a wedding and don't want to include a close friend as a bridesmaid because of her weight. I know that sounds horrible but she is morbidly obese and is closing in 450 pounds. Is is too selfish to not want to include her because I want the focus to be on me and not what one of my bridesmaids look like in their dress? She is a great person, but people people always staring and commenting when we go in public and I know it will be the focus of the wedding party pictures. I am considering not having any bridesmaids, I don't want to do that, but can't come up with a way not to hurt her feelings. I know a lot of people will think i'm a horrible person, so save your responses. Some helpful thoughts would be nice. Well i'm sorry that some people think I am the most ignorant selfish person on earth, but you don't have to like me and you don't have to be my friend. Of course I talked this over with my fiancee, he has been the person I have collaborted everything with for the last 7 years. I am probably thinking more of myself, but this is my day. For people who think it's horrible to not be that thrilled about putting this person in a red stain strapless dress and asking her to parade around in front of a 300 person wedding party then pose for pictures- get over it. I bet you think your perfect, but I was hoping for some alternative suggestions. I have gotten many good ones and I appreciate it. Everyone else can go get on their soap boxes somewhere else.
