Is this a good song for the bridal party to dance to? I have been trying to find a good song for my bridal party to dance to. We are having a patriotic wedding on 07-07-07. I was thinking more of something upbeat than a slow song. My fiance really likes the song "Why Don't We Get Drunk (And Screw)" by Jimmy Buffett. At first I said no to playing this at the reception but then I saw that some people are using "I've Got Friends In Low Places" by Garth Brooks and that is upbeat and funny like Jimmy Buffett's song. But I don't want to use that song by Garth Brooks just because of it's over-use by other people. So what does everyone think? Should I use the song Why Don't We Get Drunk (And Screw) by Buffett or not? I appreciate all answers. Thank You! Ok, I agree about the Jimmy Buffett song, what about "Let's Get Married" by Jagged Edge?

I am trying to find a song for my bridal party to dance to.....? This is the thing we only have one best man and one maid of honor. The made of honor is married so I do not want it to talk about being in love or anything like that I think it would just be weird for them. We also have a 3 year old, 7 year old and a 9 year old girls in the wedding along with a 7 year old boy. So what do you think we should use? We are using Elliott Yamin - You Are The One for the me and my soon to be husband. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IH-IbdGSfbg

how many songs should we choose?? Our reception will be about 4 hours. How many songs should we choose for our deejay to play? One hour will be taken up for dinner, and we will be playing light classical music. Also, is it really polite/necessary to have the first dance, the wedding party dance, the mother's dance, the father's dance and so on? I just think that with all of these special dances, our guests will hardly get the opportunity to dance. Aren't you bored out of your mind at receptions where everyone has to have a special dance? Can we just have our first dance and then have a dance with the moms, dads and bridal party and end it at that??
HELP! i need wedding songs to turn into DJ by tomorrow!! most of the music we like is underground music, like ICP, twiztid, boondox, blaze etc so it cant be used for this stuff. we need suggestions for: cutting the cake song first dane song bridal party dance song boquet toss song we love classic rock and oldies thanks!

When to have Dollar Dance at wedding...? The reception starts at six...we will enter in at 6 and then mingle for a little bit then eat and have our toasts. Then we are doing our first dance (8:00), the Father Daughter, the mother son, the bridal Party, then 2 open dances (one fast, one slow) (8:30ish) then the bouquet toss, then the garter toss then two more open floor songs...should I have my dollar dance before or after the bouquet and garter toss? And if I do it before should I add another open floor song? I hope I am not missing anything...the weddings this weekend! I really agree with SoCal Country Girl and it is just commen where I am from to have them at weddings. If they dont want to give us money then they dont have to. They can just ask us to dance later or they can dance with us during open floor dancing.
Wedding song??? What would be a good wedding song for the Bridal Party slow dance. Something that is slow, but fun, but not toooo romantic? Any suggestions??? thanks!!!

Good songs for walking down the aisle & dance? I was thinking about "All you need is love" by the Beatles, but I would like something a bit slower- still different and quirky, but slower- maybe acoustic? ALSO I need a dance for the first dance- there will be my hubby and me, and our grooms/bridal parties on the floor with us. Any ideas? ALSO there will NOT be a father daughter dance as my father is NOT invited to the wedding. However, what other songs are good for dancing at a wedding reception? Thanks!
Wedding song suggestions? Please give me some current songs that would be good to play at our reception... especially a song for the bridal party dance and the grand entrance!
What songs should we play at our wedding reception? We have a DJ, but I have no clue what songs to pick.? We want a lot of dancing at our reception..and will have a mix of ages, mostly couples in their 30s. I especially am stumped on the bridal party's entrance song...the garter & bouquet toss songs... acckk!! So many choices.
Wedding Music, what is good? I need suggestions for songs for the following dances: Bridal Party Introductions Bride & Groom Bridal Party 1st Dance Cake Cutting Bouquet Toss Garter Toss Last dance They like Pop music and top 40 the best. Oldies for love songs would be good too.
Wedding Music Help? My sister's getting married in less than 3 weeks and her fiance is having problems picking songs. They decided to both pick a song for the bridal party dance, somewhat like their vows. He also has to pick his Mother/Son dance. Seen as my Husband is dejaying the event we have been offering suggestions everytime he ask. He still hasn't picked one. This is what he's looking for something older like Johnny Cash, but not mushy! I'm starting to think he has a song in mind, but just likes being difficult. Anyone have any suggestions?
First dances at weddings? Help me pick some songs please!? We are doing the traditional wedding dances, first dance, father daughter, mother son, bridal party, and I would like to do one with my grandfather. I wanted Tim McGraw and Faith Hill's 'It's Your Love' for our first dance, but I have played it so many times I am sick of it!! Can you give me your opinions on a song or two or as many as you want for each dance listed above?? I want all kinds of opinions even if you think they are bad! I am open minded!! If you think of my style, I wanted Tim and Faith for the first dance, and the end of the night is going to be "Time Of Your Life" by Green Day- so like I said- I'm very open and like almost anything, besides hard core rap. Right- I want them to be personal, but I need to find some songs to check out to see if I like them and if they will be a good fit for me.
Multiple wedding questions? I've heard many different versions of "Bridal Party Dances" at the reception. What exactly is it and how did your Party do it? I love the idea of a cocktail hour but I have some alcoholics in my family and am worried they won't be responsible. What other ____ hour could I do? It's pretty popular in weddings to have the favor as a CD that the couple made with their favorite songs on them. My fiancee is into all that computer stuff, so would that be cute? Would you appreciate it as a favor and actually listen to it? (We pretty much like everything but Rap)
Need help finding a song!? Does anybody have the mp3, or know the location of the A Knight's Tale version of David Bowie's "Golden Years"? The A Knight's Tale version begins with medieval sounding music, then subtly goes into "Golden Years". This is the version we need for our Bridal party dance at our wedding. We thought it would be a cool way to throw off guests who will be watching them dance, and give them a nice upbeat surprise. :) Thank you.
(Warning: This is LONG!) Does this QUESTIONNAIRE from a Wedding DJ cover all the bases? Date and time of reception? Name and location of reception? Time of arrival of the newlywed couple? You'd like me dressed how? (I HAVE a Tux if required) At what time do you expect the guests to be seated before the entrance of the bridal party? For the wedding traditions: Do you wish to have formal introductions of the Wedding Party? In what order? List names of those in wedding party to be introduced, please, (Including YOURSELVES, please!) and help with any unusual pronunciations of names : Are the bridal couple to be announced as Mr. & Mrs. James Smith, e.g. or Mr. James Smith and Mrs. Jane Smith (OR a hyphenated bride name)? OTHER? In what order will following take place? (I've pre-set these in the most common order, but please have these occur in the order you wish)... Toasts / Speeches Dinner Cake cutting Bride & Groom's 1st dance (Name of song(s)/artist(s) for THIS dance_______ ) Father of Bride / Bride dance (Name of song, etc. ___) Mother of Groom / Groom dance (Name of song, etc. ____ ) "Dollar Dance(s)" (Name of song(s) ____ ) Garter toss Bouquet toss Are there OTHER formalities or traditions you'd like added? Will we pause before dinner to say Grace? Who will do so? Do you have preferred genres of music? (Classic rock, new rock, new country, older country, etc. etc.) Any strong DISLIKES, musically ? *Note : Often I'm asked to play Hip-Hop or Rap that I KNOW to have ***strong adult language.*** Do NOT play that kind of thing. YES or NO, please You MAY, but seek permission first. While my catalog of songs is great (including all the "standard" dance songs like "Electric Slide, Cha-Cha Slide, Baby Got Back - you get the idea...) Are there any songs you want to be SURE I have ("I can't BELIEVE he didn't have **BLANK** in his library!!!") ?____________________ ***Have I made you aware that you and your guests will be welcome to bring your OWN CDs ?*** Would you like to create a play list that includes songs you feel are special to you (I'll compile UP TO 2 discs - roughly 30 songs - if you wish) ? Is there anything else I might do to help make your reception a success? May I place a tip jar? I will not mention its presence. List any OTHER details I may have overlooked, please? I have a complete set of back-up equipment to insure against any possible failure, save for a power outage. Have I made you aware? The $275.00 fee is BASED on 4+ hours playing time BUT if the party continues beyond that I will CONTINUE to play until (x x) P.M. ANY and ALL special services from above (within reason) ARE included in my fee, so feel welcome to request what you'd like!!! I had indeed fumbled for proper wording of that, "Take me away." Further suggestions welcomed!
Which Wedding Songs? ... for everything.? Ok. a lil about us. We say we "bubs" each other instead of love. We say "If you loved me" lots. We met at a party and hooked up bc our friends played a lil game on us. I believe I am the luckiest girl in the world to be with him. I have had a crush on him since I was 13, and we hooked up when I was 17. I called him Sexy Voice Man. We both love to laugh. So here is my deliema ... Every song i fall in love with, i read the lyrics and its about breaking up, or a one night stand, or whatever. I want something that means something to us. I LOVE LOVE John Mayer, and really like Norah Jones, Otis Redding, Michael Buble, others are Diana Krall, Joss Stone, Stevie Nicks, Phil Collins. Jazz and oldies.So... Im looking for our first dance, walk-in for bridal party and/or bride, walk-out... SOMEONE HELP! LOL

Wedding ceremony/reception songs? I'm having a small, causal church wedding(we're taking 35-40 guests). I'm not even certain if I want to have a bridal party yet. Anyway, I'm pretty clueless when it comes to what's needed for the ceremony music wise. I haven't been to too many weddings so I'm needing to know the normal ceremony...program I guess. What music should be playing before the wedding? I don't want guess walking in and seating down in a dead silent church. There needs to be some sort of music, right? Would having an acoustic guitarist playing pretty music be appropriate enough? If I had a bridal party what music do they walk down the aisle too? I really love folk music and I don't want lyrics sang during the procession. Also, what do I walk down to? Is there a contemporary versions of the wedding march? I don't want anything pop or country. And during the ceremony, is it suppose to be silent while the officiant talks and during our vows? We're planning to perform the salt covenant (like a sand ceremony but with salt.) during that I have a version of You are My Sunshine I want played and sang. During this we also want to surprise our parents with giving the mother a flower and reading to our parents a short framed letter about how much they have done for us and how much we love them. Does there need to be music played after we've been pronounced husband and wife and when we're having the receiving line? I'm so confessed on how all of this is suppose to happen. My fear is things will come off cheap and tacky. The reception is going to be in the church basement. I'm having a cupcake wedding cake (top tier a regular wedding cake and then cup cakes on stands going down), punch, and finger foods. There won't be alcohol or dancing, so does their need to be music at the reception? I'm just afraid it's going to be so quite and no one will talk. I don't want things to be awkward. (My family and his side don't know each other well at all because of the distance each other lives.) We both have small families and I really want to avoid awkwardness between the two sides. So um, how is this all suppose to go down? :) I should have proofread this thing. Sorry!
October 4th wedding....suggestions needed.....? I'm getting married on October 4th this year and I've decided on everything except for the two songs I will play for the bridal party to dance to before the floor is opened up to the rest of those in attendance. Any suggestions?

Would it be okay to play 50 Cent "I Get Money" as the introduction for the dollar dance? My mom is letting my DJ do basically whatever since he can tell the music that our guests will want to get up and dance to. I want to incorporate some different songs for the usual wedding reception events. The bridal party is being introduced to the beginning of "Blind" by KoRn and "Purple Haze" by Jimi Hendrix (that has to do with my fiance's nickname). Would it be "appropriate" to play something like the beginning of that 50 Cent song? I just don't want to hear about it later on, but it's just so... me. ha ha Help!
i need some ideas for music...? My wedding is fast approaching (october 28th) and I need to submit a song list to my DJ asap. wedding song playlist? any good and unique suggestions for- bridal party entrance father daughter dance cake cutting garter toss bouquet toss
First Dance Song? We are having a pretty traditional, yet modern wedding. I'm unsure about what my reception music. Our bridal party/intro song will be something like, "Let's Get the Party Started" (or whatever that song is called) by the Black Eyed Peas. I orignally wanted our first dance song to be "Bless the Broken Road" (again, whatever it's called) by Rascall Flatts. However, I really love "At Last" by Etta James. It's just an amazing song. However, I feel like compared our other more "modern" music....it will seem out of place. During dinner, we plan to have typical love songs from the 70's, 80's and 90's. For the dancing part, I plan on having a mix of today's popular music and party favorites. Some older songs from the 70's for our parents, aunts and uncles...etc. Our garter toss...is Justin Timberlakes, "SexyBack" So, as you can see. We are having a very modern music list. Will this one "older" song be very out of place. Also, please don't tell me..... "It's Your Day" I really want people's honest opinions on how this would fit in with the rest of our music. We aren't having a theme either.
intro songs? I'm not using a DJ for my wedding its just not in the budget so I need some good song ideas for *Bridal Party intro *Me n hubbys intro *First dance What does everyone think of ceremony music (through the wedding) did you or are you having it, what type of music etc?? Thanks
What music is good for a fairytale wedding? We have thought of a few songs to have, but I am reallly unsure as to wether they would be appropriate or not. What do you think? Music for the; prelude- 15 min b4 the Bride arrives at chapel (last song, somewhere out there) "Beauty and the Beast" no lyrics the bridal march- brides entrance- Love of My Life - The Wedding Song the signing of the register- Tarzan soundtrack "You'll be in my heart" when we exit the chapel- the postlude- Introduction of the bridal party- dinner songs- "Be our guest" (dinner is served), cake song- Love and marriage, father daughter song- "Butterfly kisses" mother son song- "The Man You've Become" first dance song- last dance song- I want to grow old with you? Bouquet toss song- Its raining men or this one is for the girls garter toss song- "Wild thing" I dont want just the same music as every other wedding has. Please give me some ideas. last dance song
Would you do this on your wedding video? I was browsing videographer websites and came across one that, while they have great work, I had to scratch my head at one of their offerings. Would you and your bridal party (and maybe even your guests) make a music video, dancing and lipsynching to a song of your choice, and it looks like a real music video? While everyone's style and personalities are different, I have to wonder if enough folks actually use an add-on service like that to make it worthwhile for the company.

What is good fun and clean music to play at a bridal shower? I can't believe I have to use points for this, (I thought it'd be on here somewhere) but here is what I'm looking for, PG-13 girl song to play while we're playing hot potato at a bridal shower. Most of the guests will be 19 - 35. There will be a few in their 40s and very few older then that. I want to fill a whole cd though. I might let it play in the background afterward. Thinking thing's like girls just wanna have fun, by cyndi lauper and maybe control by janet jackson. Pink's - Lets get the Party Started. I know there's a few good country ones but I'm drawing a blank. I'm asking for title and artist. Please don't give me your opinion on playing the music. Its what I'm doing. I just need help finding songs. The more 80's the better. I don't want a bunch of sex oriented lyrics or Hannah Montana songs either. So please, if your 14 don't tell me what was played at your high school dance, but if your 30 and can remember that, go for it, I'm also staying away from engagement / wedding songs because the groom is in Iraq and the bride hasn't seen him since September. I don't want to cause her an emotional break down in the middle of her shower. (No opinions on this part desired)
How do you tell a bridzilla to calm the f down? My friend is getting married and she's always been a little on the bossy side but she's taking it too far now. My other friend and I are both in the bridal party (well just me now). My friend had a hard time making some of the appointments because of shift work and plus there was not a lot of notice given for appointments. The bride basically told her friend of almost 10 years that she couldn't be in the bridal party because of the lack of time she was not able to devote. At the bridal shower, she was criticizing every gift with the way she looked at it. At the wedding social, she wouldn't even let us take a break from our duties and dance a couple songs. She confronted me when I went to the bathroom and to get a drink even. She's ruining friendships and acting like a total bitch. Nothing is ever good enough for her and being there for her right now seems like a total chore. I'm about ready to step down from my position if she doesn't smarten up
