Wedding party gifts to the bride and groom? My boyfriend and I are going to his friend's wedding, and we already purchased something (sort of expensive) for them out of their registry. He's a groomsman, and I have also heard that groomsmen traditionally buy an extra gift for the groom. Is this universal? Seems like it would be expecting a lot of money from us/him with a wedding gift, tux rental, travel expenses, AND a groomsman gift.
The Best wedding party gifts you have received from the Bride and Groom? I am trying to figure out what to get my wedding party..I know you can get the boring jewlery or make-up compact..but I was wanting to do something different..I was thinking personalized bags with their names on them and different things that each girl would like..any other ideas..Let me know what the best gift you have received from a wedding...favors...gifts..anything let me know!!!:)
I need idea's for wedding party gifts, and where to go to find them in Barrie Ontario? I had originally order the gifts from a cataloge, well I just received notice in the mail that we wouldn't receive them on time and that they were sending out a check to refund my money as I had already prepaid for them. So now I am stuck as to what to get and where to get it. I am getting married in less then 5 weeks, and now have nothing to give the wedding party. The date is July 28/07, any idea's and suggestions would be great, thanks.
What is the etiquette regarding wedding gifts and shower gifts and party gifts? I am in my mid 20s and lots of my friends are getting married, but one thing that is really bothering me is that all of them are expecting gifts, expensive gifts, not just at their wedding showers, but at their engagement parties, their bachelor/bachelorette parties and then also at their actual weddings. When I was growing up my parents taught me that a gift at the shower or at the wedding itself if you weren't invited to the shower was good etiquette, but my boyfriend get so embarrassed when everyone else brings gifts to every occasion and I insist that we are fine. Are we wrong for not bringing $50+ gifts to every event or are our friends wrong for expecting gifts at every event surrounding the wedding? To add to the earlier details, are showers and weddings 2 separate events requiring 2 different gifts off of the couple's registry? Typically everyone brings a registry gift to the showers, and then another to the wedding. At the bachelorette showers invitations go out with requests for lingere and "gifts meant to be enjoyed on the honeymoon" and for the bachelor parties bottles of liquor or adult themed gifts... It adds up when you consider we all for the most part just finished school and my boyfriend and I are both still in school (PhD studies) without full time employment. One last thing, I don't even live in the country (I go to a university abroad), but I still get invites and send gifts, as if the situation wasn't complicated enough. Answers for my specific situation and in general for people who do attend all of the events are appreciated.
Wedding party gifts for male guests? I'm getting married October 13, and my fiance and I are having a pre-wedding party (in place of a reception) on October 6. I've decided to make wedding favor bags for everyone, but am unsure of what to put in the male guests' bags? Or should I even bother? The female guests will have candles, bubbles, beauty supplies, etc. Should I not bother to give out wedding favor bags to the men? I feel like I should include them, but my fiance feels that the men really won't care if they receive a giftbag or not. Either way, what are some good, reasonably priced gifts to put in a male guests wedding bag? Thanks!
Any ideas for wedding party gifts? My fiancee and I are getting married next weekend in Rhode Island and we are having a tough time finding gifts gor our wedding party. We are looking to spend $50 on everyone and more on the Best Man and Maif of Honor. We don't want to get the usual jewelry and flask or cufflinks. We want something different and cool. Any ideas?
How to nicely present a letter? (Wedding party gifts)? As a thank you to our parents for all their support in our lives leading up to our wedding, we wrote them each a letter thanking them, and telling them what qualities of theirs we most hope to have in our marriage. How would I wrap and present these to them at the rehearsal dinner when we hand out the other wedding party gifts? I plan on printing them on nice paper (they were typed on the computer) but I don't know where to go from there. I don't really like the idea of a picture frame, but I don't want to fold the paper just in case they do want to frame/display it. I think it's too cheesy to do a double frame with the letter on one side and the other side blank for a wedding photo of us. Any other ideas? [Note: when we graduated from college, we got them big frames with a bunch of openings and did photo collages of us through our lives, so another picture frame less than a year later seems unoriginal.]
original wedding party gifts? My fiance and I are getting married in Chicago in October, and we have 5 bridesmaids and 5 groomsmen. We are looking for original ideas for wedding party gifts. Has anyone heard of anything fun and original for guys besides the old standbys like flasks, money clips, wallets, anything leather/silver/engraved? Thanks!
where can i get inexpensive wedding party gifts? i'm looking to buy necklaces in the 20-30 range for my bridesmaids to wear at the wedding. i've tried ebay and didn't like anything, as well as overstock.com, which seems to have jewelry that is poor quality. what are some other good websites, or even stores (im in southern california) where i can get this? thanks! hey kali, i think you misunderstood my information. as it happens, i'm having my wedding on a farm in virginia, on a VERY small budget, and its really all about the families and friends getting together and having fun, so please dont talk to me about how i'm trying to "impress" someone. i want my bridesmaids to have a necklace they will wear again after the wedding, and the things on ebay were either too fancy for my down on the farm wedding or just not my taste. on overstock, i went by the reviews, which were actually quite bad about the jewelry falling apart, nothing to do with "impressing" someone. anyway, thanks for the "advice", but i'm not trying to impress anyone, juse give nice, thoughtful gifts. guess what tirya? i'm more intelligent than your entire ignorant family put together could EVER be. just because someone is having their wedding on a farm (because its inexpensive, beautiful, and outdoors) does not make them a hick or dumb. you are an ignorant predjudiced woman and you really ought to try being a bit more open minded, then maybe your life would actually go somewhere.
wedding party gifts? If im going to have a wedding party, do the bride and groom usually buy them gifts? if so, what kind of gifts and how much should be spent on each person?
Cheap gifts for the wedding party...? So, I just found out I have to buy the wedding party gifts, but my fiance and I would rather not spend the money because we are poor. What are the usual gifts and how can it make it cheaper?
What did you get your wedding party for gifts? I need all the ideas I can get for bridesmaids and groomsmen gifts! For the bridesmaids, I am paying for their hair and makeup which will be about $100 per person, but I want to get them a little something also.
Do bridesmaids give gifts for all: shower, bachelorette party, and wedding? I am a college student with a limited budget, and my friend is having a shower and a bachelorette party. Am I expected to give a gift at those events, plus a wedding gift? I am a college student with a limited budget, and my friend is having a shower and a bachelorette party. Am I expected to give a gift at all of those events, plus a wedding gift? I am already paying for the norm: dress, shoes, hair, mani/pedi, etc.
Wedding gifts for bridal party and parents? Im not sure what to get for the bridal party and our parents. Ive been in 3 weddings recently and dont want to use the same idea as them. They used: Engraved bracelettes White gold rings bracelettes with words and meanings. We are on a tight budget but i dont want these gifts to be cheap because these people do mean a lot to us and we want to thank them for helping with our special day. Any gift ideas? ** SERIOUS answers only. Please dont be rude. Thank you in advance!
How to collect gifts from friends without holding a wedding party? I've been to almost 20 friend's wedding parties before and just relocated to a new town and get married. How can I collect their gifts without holding a party? If I just send out a notice and a wishlist to them would that be awkward? I gave most of them gifts in their weddings before and now I want some back...thanks for any advice
Is it bad etiquette not to give gifts to the wedding party? I am having a wedding in a year and my husband and I are trying to keep the budget down. It's gonna be mostly family and close friends in the wedding and I know they know about our financial situation. If we didn't get them gifts they probably wouldn't care but i think i would feel bad about it. Let me know !!
when is the most appropriate time to give gifts to wedding party? I have a matron of honor, and a total of 10 bridesmaids that are all my fiances and my daughters and nieces. He has a best man and a total of 7 groomsmen that are all his nephews. When do he and I give our gifts to them? Do we do it together at the pre-nup dinner, before, after or during? With the other family around or privately? Just before the wedding while the men are getting ready together and the woman are getting ready together but the men and women are separated? Another time? My gifts for the girls are two parts, one thing to wear in the wedding and a keepsake for after. Should I break them up and give one before and one later or give both together, when?!?!?! I have no idea what he is gifting and really, it's up to him as to when. I'm more concerned with me and the girls...and, most everyone is getting the same thing so doing it altogether shouldn't be a problem as far as anyone being jealous or feeling left out or that their gift was any less special and so on.
Wedding Gifts for Bridal Party? Hi! So I have 5 girls in my wedding party. Do you buy the Maid of honor something different that the brides maids? Do all the brides maids get the same gifts? What are some good ideas for gifts? Thanks :)
Wedding party gifts? Guys? I already know what I am getting for the girls in my wedding, a nice makeup kit, we are having a Mary Kay party and im also going to get them cute little makeup bags with either their names or initials on them, but for the GUYS???? my fiancee and i where talking the other day and his 4 guys are his cousins and they are ALL sports nuts, so we where thinking of getting mini helmets that are autographed by their favorite player...we priced them and they arent to much money since they are the mini helmets. If you where to get this, would you like it? and please dont be mean, there is no point in it! Thanks! We also thought about tickets, but they are all going to a game for my fiances bachlore party!
What is an appropriate amount of money to spend on gifts for the wedding party? I am a bride, and want to give each member of the wedding party a gift as a thank you for their help. We planned a small wedding with an outdoor service and a cocktail party. The bridal party hasn't had much to do as the groom and i have done almost everything ourselves, but we still want to give them something special as a thank you for their support.
Wedding party gifts...please help!!!!? Hey, I am getting married in October and I need some good ideas for groomsmen gifts, and bridesmaid gifts. All over 21 years of age. I have 3 younger cousins as bridesmaids also 10-14 years old. Then I have a flowergirl who is turning 8 and one that is 2 and 1/2. And the 2 ring bearers. I have no idea what to get any of them!!! Please help me with ideas for all of them. I am really bad at this kind of stuff. Thanks!!!! :)
Give me some ideas for gifts for wedding party.? Im the groom and i need suggestions for gifts for my guys in the wedding. Also im wondering what about the flower girl and ring bearer. What are good gifts for them? Also im wondering how much the pastor should get?
Wedding party gifts for boys? They are 8 and 10. I want to give them a tote bag with things to keep them occupied along with something special, but I have no idea what those things should be. The girls are easy to buy for, but I can't figure out what to do for the boys!
Help with gifts for my wedding party? Is it acceptable to give gift cards for movie theatres or restaurants to your wedding party. I want to give them something that they can really use versus engraved lighters, frames, etc etc. Any ideas of useful, fun things that I can give to my bridesmaids and my fiances groomsmen that they will really appreciate? With a budget of roughly around 50 dollars a person? Thanks in advance :) Thankyou all so much for your great ideas! :)
who in the wedding party are you buying gifts for? i know the MOH, Bridesmaids, bestman, groomsmen, flower girl and ring bearer get gifts but where do you stand on the mothers of the bride and groom? should i give them somthing? my dad is doing the videoing of the wedding so i am giving him something. anyone else i should be buying for?
Wedding party gift ideas for 12 year olds? I'm getting married in a couple of weeks and i need some ideas for 3 12 year olds who will be part of it. The girl is a girly girl and i think I can get her a bracelet or something, but the 2 boys are ... well boys. One will play the piano and one will be the ring bearer. I have no idea. Most ring bearer ideas are targeted at younger children. Both boys like sports but I feel it should be more a keepsake than big present.
Do members of the bridal party buy wedding shower gifts? I've helped pay for the previous showers when I was in the wedding but this shower is being hosted and payed for by the mother of the bride. Our families are close and I offered to chip in but she wanted to take care of all things shower related. So because I'm not helping with the shower itself I feel a small gift would be appropriate, am I right? Should I talk to the other bridesmaids to see what they are doing?
Gifts for wedding party? I'm starting to think about gifts for our wedding party. The people we would like to buy for are: * Bridesmaids * Best Man * Mothers I've bought a couple of cubic zirconia necklaces (can't afford diamonds!) for the bridesmaids, but we were wondering about the others. What did you buy, or what will you buy? There are NO groomsmen in our wedding Good suggestions on making the gifts unique, but I'm not keen on the idea o initialling them or having the wedding date on them. Just not my taste. I love the fact that you bought something different for each of your BMs though.
post wedding party gift opening etiquette? I got married last month in Las Vegas. My sister is giving my husband and I a party. This is not a shower, and not an occasion where I am expecting gifts. However, I know that some people may bring gifts. In this instance, do I open the gifts at the party, or should I wait until later? I have heard different perspectives. Some say that you open gifts at a shower, but not at a party. Other people are of the opinion that it is tacky not to go ahead and open the gifts that people bring. I don't want to offend anyone! What is the proper protocol here! Thanks!
What are some ideas for gifts for less prominent people in the wedding party? I know what I'm getting my bridesmaids and personal attendants, but I'm having a hard time coming up with ideas for like my soloist (and her accompanist), and the guestbook attendants, gift attendants, MC and candid photographer. Does anyone have good ideas for these people? I dont' want to spent a ton of money on all these people with smaller roles but yet I don't want to resort to gift cards for all of them either. Any ideas?
Gifts for the wedding party question, its long SORRY? http://www.amazon.com/Movado-Eliro-Diamond-Watch-0605469/dp/B000AC19C6/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=jewelry&qid=1203954378&sr=1-2 1) That is the watch I got my fiance (not from amazon obviously) I would like to get him a just a little something else (about 500 dollars) for him for a wedding gift. He likes to golf but I just got him a nice set of clubs for holidays and he already belongs to a golf club and driving range. He likes video game but I got him a PS3 and Xbox 360, games, and accessories through out the year. I am out of ideas. He is a 29 year old pharmacy consultant, Indian by heritage. Any help would be great. Also do you think he will care for the watch? Ok next, my bridesmaids. I am taking them out Bliss 57 spa before the wedding and I am paying for their hair, make up, and nails/pedicures for the wedding. I got them diamond earrings and matching pendants, also a LV bag for each. I would like to fill them with something though just so its not like an empty purse thats personal for each of them First is my MOH, my brothers wife, she is 24 year old accountant for J&J (she is filled with bath and body products because of this), she is kind of a hippie at heart. She doesn't wear make up. This is her bag, so you can work with the size http://www.eluxury.com/estore/browse/product_detail.jsp?id=11840435 Second is my BM who is my 15 year old cousin. She is in state choir, likes to travel around europe with her school. She listens to mostly indie rock music http://www.eluxury.com/estore/browse/product_detail.jsp?id=10397750 And third is my 15 year old other cousin. She is kind of off beat, like punk music and she likes to shop at like hot topic but she also is in fashion design academy. (her mother mentioned she likes the bright colors) http://www.eluxury.com/estore/browse/product_detail.jsp?id=11224595 No gift cards. About 200 each I have spend. WRONG MOH PURSE sorry I was just clicking on links and not looking http://www.eluxury.com/estore/browse/product_detail.jsp?id=10804571 That is the MOH purse Tracey to be honest I am not terribly close to any of them but I don't really have any friends and my fiance had three so I needed to match . So just for them to take time out of their lifes and stand for me I feel so lucky that they are that nice so I really want to show my appreciation, not to mention it was left over of my budget. Its not a load of crap. My family friend works at an LV store so I got them for 300 off, and my family owns jewerly stores in NYC so the jewlery was really inexpensive.
Wedding party gift ideas? My fiance and I are looking for ideas to give, as gifts for our wedding party. I would like something they are not going to forget, or something they will use and not just put in a drawer or closet. I guess I am looking for something unique. Any ideas? I would prefer if the gift could be bought in Canada, as cross border charges tend to cost alot.
Bachelorette party, bridal shower, wedding gifts? I am going to be one of three bridesmaids in an upcoming friend's wedding. For the bachellorette party we are going on a 3-day cruise. The cruise costs around $300 (with everyone going paying their own way and a portion of the bride's cost) and the dress cost $150. My question is about gifts. I recently got an e-mail from one of the other bridemaids telling me to bring a gift for the bachellorette party. Now she tells me that I need to also attend the bridal shower (which I always thought was supposed to be more of a family thing) to which, no doubt, I am expected to bring another gift. The couple already has everything they need for their new place, and I have already spent quite a bit of money on this occasion - Am I supposed to buy a wedding gift, too?
Gifts for Wedding Party? Ok. I am getting married in 2 weeks from today, and my fiance and I have a large wedding party (6 bridesmaid, 6 groomsmen). We are paying for the wedding ourselves, so are of course on a small budget. How much money should we spend on each groomsmen/bridesmaid?
Gifts for the wedding party? To whom do you give gifts to at your wedding? (I am the bride to be) Please help me with the list and what is usually given to each person. I have a little delema also, we will be purchasing my maid of honours dress & getting her here (9 hours away) also all of her accessories etc. I would think this would be enough?
Gifts to people in my wedding party? I am getting married in February. I am wondering... I've heard its kind of standard to give gifts to certain people in the wedding party, like bridesmaids. Who all should receive gifts from us? Thanks, Emily Thanks!! I think I've found my answer.
what is this whole thing with gifts for the wedding party, flowergirl, etc. Can you please explain this to me? I keep hearing about people giving gifts to the bridesmaids, groommen, ring bearer, flower girl, parents of the couple etc. I have never heard of this done in my culture it seems corny because wedding couple is already doing so much and spending alot of money. The wedding party is getting a free rehearsal dinner, not to mention all the food at the reception, dancing, entertainment etc. So it seems odd to have to give them additional gifts, granted yeah I know they paid for their own tuxes and dresses but thats whst friends are for. And its not that we have money issues or anything like that, in fact we're going all out on our wedding its just something that I dont understand and it would great if someone could answer this for me. Thanks!
Wedding Party Gift for Coworker? I just started working at a new job this Monday. My cubicle buddy is having a wedding party this Saturday at his wife's aunt's place (so nothing really fancy). He got married earlier this year but never had a reception so this is kind of replacing that. Since I had to relocate to another State for this new job and since I don't know anybody here and since we've been getting along pretty good at work, he invited me over to the party. Should I bring a gift? I'm assuming I should...even if it's a little thing..but can't think of anything to bring either. I need some ideas and advice please~!!!
