I need a list of current/popular songs to dance to at a daytime wedding that arent 2 raunchy or clubby. Ideas? My sister is getting married this summer and she asked me to come up with this list of music. The reception's going to be from around 1 to 4 in the afternoon so the music shouldn't be TOO clubby...but it should be music that's popular right now and that people can still dance to. I'm also looking for songs that HOPEFULLY aren't too filthy or at least ones that have an edited version. If you have any good suggestions...please help!!!

Dealing with a DJ at a wedding, how specific can I get with which songs I want? My fiance and I have very strange taste in music, and now that we want to hire a DJ we are wondering just how much say we will have in what music to play. Every wedding I've been involved in the planning of (bride's maid, daughter of the bride) they have had bands and get to be pretty specific but off a list. I'd like to be able to control about 90% of what they play, mostly jazz, Rat Pack, some newer and popular stuff, some classic wedding songs, but there are certain songs I DON'T want...like the Chicken Dance or that weird country-techno song (forget the name). I want people to be able to ask for something that means something for them...but want to be keep the feeling of the wedding relatively consistent. Is this possible? Will they do this?

Please help. Those of you who know love songs from the 90's. What's the name of the band and song? I know this is a tough one, but list all the one's that you MIGHT think this could be, even though the clues I give you are extremely general. Ok, so, the song that I'm trying to find is basically a wedding song, but not a popular one. The band is basically like those other bands in the 90's, like, Color Me Bad, All-4-One, Boys II Men, etc. (but's it's none of the bands that I just listed). Def. before '96. It has a wedding music background tune to it.... GAWD what is it?? I know this is tough, but PLEASE help on this one. Ppl really don't read carefully, haha. Like I said, It's NOT All-4-One (NOT any of the bands I listed), and it has a wedding melody in the background. NOT Boy II Men, Color Me Bad, All-4-One, etc. BUT, is a boy band. WEDDING MELODY IN BACKGROUND PPL!!! Nevermind, I found the band that I was talking about (UNV "I'm so In Love"). Popular songs from 1942? My wife's granparents got married in 1942 & we're planning a wedding anniversary party for them. I thought it would be nice to have some music from 1942 presented/performed at this event. Can anyone help me find songs (or lists thereof) from 1942?

well known love songs? I'm in charge of games for my sisters bridal shower. I was thinking about doing a Don't Forget the Lyrics type game with wedding themed music. First Dance Song? We are having a pretty traditional, yet modern wedding. I'm unsure about what my reception music. Our bridal party/intro song will be something like, "Let's Get the Party Started" (or whatever that song is called) by the Black Eyed Peas. I orignally wanted our first dance song to be "Bless the Broken Road" (again, whatever it's called) by Rascall Flatts. However, I really love "At Last" by Etta James. It's just an amazing song. However, I feel like compared our other more "modern" music....it will seem out of place. During dinner, we plan to have typical love songs from the 70's, 80's and 90's. For the dancing part, I plan on having a mix of today's popular music and party favorites. Some older songs from the 70's for our parents, aunts and uncles...etc. Our garter toss...is Justin Timberlakes, "SexyBack" So, as you can see. We are having a very modern music list. Will this one "older" song be very out of place. Also, please don't tell me..... "It's Your Day" I really want people's honest opinions on how this would fit in with the rest of our music. We aren't having a theme either.

I was happy to see that mine and my wife's song was not one of those, "It's your love - Tim McGraw and Faith Hill." What is/was your first dance as husband and wife, song?
