Need help adding metal music to wedding reception song list? I have a list of music picked for my wedding, however my hubby-to-be LOVES metal, heavy metal, death metal, etc and I need some help with songs I can add to my list so he enjoys our reception too! I like metal too, but not as much as him, thats why its so hard for me to find songs that would be good to add to the list, I don't wanna freak out our guests but I want my hubby to be happy as well. Any song/artist suggestions will be highly appreciated!!!
D.J. music list - what songs would you say are a'must have' at a wedding to get everyone up? Ive been asked to come up with a list of songs for our D.J. that we would like to have played at our wedding. Im looking for some ideas that will encourage people to get up on the dance floor.
Wedding Music? I am getting married in 3 months time - and trying to sort out music. I have a list of songs I would like played for the reception (a mix of my favs, OH favs, and general music to keep others happy - including some Scottish tunes, since we are Scottish) The thing is, I just want to know at what other points music should be played. I have the following thoughts (civil wedding): 1. walking up aisle. 2. during time of registry signing 3. back up aisle 4. a CD perhaps while we have photos taken and guests are doing nothing but waiting? 5. first dance 6. evening reception music. Do you think I have it all covered? Also any ideas on up and down aisle music? I love The Cure, Duran Duran, Roxy Music, The Cult, ABBA (I do i do i do??? - muriels wedding style??), Depeche Mode, Echo and The Bunnymen - that kind of music - so I don't want Celine Dion and stuff. Any ideas???
I want to use contemporary music for my wedding ceremony, is that acceptable? I plan to have my bridesmaids walk down the aisle to "Waiting on an Angel" by Ben Harper, and then I want to walk down the aisle to "At Last" by Etta James. For the recessional, after we're pronounced husband and wife, I want to play "I Feel Good" by James Brown. I'm so tired of the classical wedding music...it seems like people are just going through the motions and playing songs because that's the tradition. However, some people have said that playing contemporary music will make the guests feel uncomfortable. What do you think? How would you react if you went to a wedding and heard the songs listed above instead of "Cannon in D" and "Here Comes the Bride"??? I've asked the groom for his thoughts on everything and he's not much for opinions unless it's something important like what kind of food and beer we're serving. :)
I need a list of great songs in spanish for a spanish-english wedding reception.? Hey everyone! My fiance and I are trying to compile a list of wedding songs. We listen to music in spanih and english, but I have alot of songs picked out for the english portion. To mix it up I'd like to add music in espanol as well. So let's see who can come up with the best list of perfect songs for a mixed wedding! We'll have spanish only speaking family members and english only family members, which is why we decided to play the both types of music! Have a great day, and I can't wait to see the lists. Oh yea! A few favorite groups of his are Los Tigres del Norte, Conjunto Primavera, And I love Enrique Iglesia's Heroe which I think will b our first dace song, we'll play it in english and in spanish. Cute? Thanks everyone!
My aunt wants me to provide music for her wedding, i need some ideas? I need some dance music lol. im more into rock than rap, if you guys could just list some good dance songs for the wedding i'd appriciate it. person with the most songs gets best answer =] MUST BE GOOD DANCE/WEDDING SONGS though. they could also be rock-ish as long as their catchy and upbeat
Wedding DO NOT PLAY music list? I've been going to a bunch of weddings lately, and mine is going to be in June. I'm making a Do-not-play list so people don't have to hear the same songs they hear at every other wedding. Here's what I have so far: The Isley Brother - Shout KC & The Sunshine Band - Celebration Van Morrison - Brown Eyed Girl Any Neil Diamond, any BeeGees Abba - Dancing Queen Bob Seger - Old Time Rock n Roll B52s - Love Shack Commodores - Brick House Any other suggestions to keep our guests from running screaming from the wedding? I'm 25 years old, if that helps in any way. Read the question again. WHAT NOT TO PLAY In response to: "My question is why do you want all of these on your do-not-play list? Just because they're played at other weddings?" Because they are lame. I'm not banning all songs because they're old. I'm just wanting to play something that you don't hear at EVERY SINGLE wedding. How often do you hear Ray Charles or Stevie Wonder at a wedding? Ha, I guess "Hit the Road Jack" is pretty overplayed too. We were thinking about doing "Nighttime is the Right Time" as the intro song. I'm sucking the fun out of the wedding? No, that's exactly my point. I want it to be FUN, and not to SUCK.
Wedding songs help! Dance music for the crowd? Actually i have a list of old, romantic, slow songs for my wedding but what i want from you all is some romantic dance music..like for the crowd to dance to..i want some upbeat songs..hip hop even but they should not contain any swearing or f word.. thanks heaps!! btw i love Sean Paul and R. Kelly but is that kind of music inappropriate for weddings??? at least for the dancing...
What's the best way to mix various types of music into a Wedding Reception Play list? I'm pulling together a play list for a relative. She's provided a list of songs she wants, but there's dance, R&B, slow dance, Jazz, Pop, and a few rock songs. Randomly mixing them together would be a bit jarring. Are groups of 3 or 4 of a type better (especially with the slow and jazz)? For example, I'm considering putting 10 fast danceable songs together (various types) and then mix in 3 or 4 slow songs. Advice from people who've done this before would be welcome.
Wedding music...please help me with some ideas? I'm looking for songs to put on the dinner list of music at my wedding, just nice simple wedding music the guest can enjoy while eating, would prefer country or 80's. A little pop would be okay if the song really has some meaning. Any ideas? Thanks, AuBree

Do you have any Wedding Music Suggestions? I'm trying to compile a list of songs to be performed at a friend's wedding. They are looking for modern music - Not mainstream. Something that hasn't been overplayed/oversung at weddings (pretty much trying to avoid anything out of those wedding compilation books).

Fun question! Please suggest reception music for my wedding? I am compling a big list of music for my reception, dancing music only, I have already done the dinner music. Please suggest two or three songs that you would love to hear at a wedding and love to dance to. I want there to be a great selection so people want to dance all night! Thanks! Oops, I meant to say 'compiling' not 'compling' lol :)
OKAY People!!!! I require a listing of music that can be played at a wedding reception. Songs with dances? Any song with dances to them, or fun songs for the attendees to have a great time.
What are your fav country music songs to dance to? I am looking to add a bit of country to our wedding play list. Nothing overplayed please. No Islands in the Stream, no Shaina Twain, etc Our first dance song is George Strait if that tells you anything about what we like... Thanks in advance!!
Spanish music appropriate for wedding reception needed? Hi. Please provide a list of Spanish songs (cumbia, salsa, bachata, huapango, etc) appropriate for a wedding reception. Please don't list songs with crude or sexist lyrics. Thank you.
Is it wrong to provide the band with list of songs for the evening? The band that is playing at our wedding provided me with a sample song list of what they typically play at a wedding. I only knew 3 songs on the entire sheet! I am really worried! And not that it is a big deal but the band members are almost all in their 50's. I don't want to put people to sleep with old slow music. I want to have fun and get people dancing, so is it terrible of my to create a list of like 50 songs that I would prefer be played?
what kind of music for a wedding reception? a blend of dance music..but only stuff you can dance too..but very well mixed where the dj doesnt play 3 hip hop songs followed by 3 country..so on..because i dont like that.. i dont care if its 50s dance 90s dance..or country you can dance to..even the freaking chicken dance..as long as you can DANCE! (im a dancer lol) and i told the dj to blend it very well but do play more of todays music then the stuff from 1960 my fiance thinks it should be mostly oldies..with some of today stuff but he wants stuff like johnny cash..and that horrible 80s soft rock crap and tons of love songs (he made a list of like 70 of them he wants played) what do you think? he just told me that noone is going to stay at our reception because of the music i have chose

I need an upbeat fun recessional song for my wedding!!!? So far our music mixes traditional with non-traditional... Our music list is "Parents' Prayer" (Stephen CUrtis Chapman), Cannon in D, "Can't Help falling in love with you" (Elvis), "I can only Imagine", "everything" (michael buble, and now I need a good song to wrap it up...HELP!!!
Rock music for wedding reception offensive to guests (parents and grandparents mainly)? Okay, I'm not your 'normal' bride I guess you'd say. Our cake topper is of a zombie bride and groom and our colors are going to be either black and silver or black and red (we're still discussing) So obviously I'm not going to want the 'normal' wedding music. So I want your opinion of whether rock music will be offensive to others. Here's part of our list so far. AFI- Silver and Cold HiM- (haven't quite picked the exact song yet, but there will probably be a couple because it's my fave band) The Cure-Lovesong NIN-We're in this together now That's just a few, there will also be some 80's music.. I mean, obviously I'm not going to be blaring Cradle of Filth or something like that, I do have respect for the parents and grandparents so I'm being careful that the songs I choose don't have cussing in them (and if so, just minimal) I'm just afraid that they still won't appreciate it because they're old-fashioned. What's your take on it?
What are some good songs for a wedding? Im trying to get a list of songs that would be best for my wedding... This is my problem tho... I and my family are hispanic and my soon to be husband is caucasian (white). But they said to give themm a list of songs and they will see what they can do. i am terrible with names and artist . i knoe i like the above type of music to dance to but cant seem to think of any. one or two i have so far are...sweet carolina remix although i dont think thwy can sing a remix. i also found a justin timberlake song that is kinda like house or dance its called the way you are. please help me to think of titles with there artist. thanks
Please help. Those of you who know love songs from the 90's. What's the name of the band and song? I know this is a tough one, but list all the one's that you MIGHT think this could be, even though the clues I give you are extremely general. Ok, so, the song that I'm trying to find is basically a wedding song, but not a popular one. The band is basically like those other bands in the 90's, like, Color Me Bad, All-4-One, Boys II Men, etc. (but's it's none of the bands that I just listed). Def. before '96. It has a wedding music background tune to it.... GAWD what is it?? I know this is tough, but PLEASE help on this one. Ppl really don't read carefully, haha. Like I said, It's NOT All-4-One (NOT any of the bands I listed), and it has a wedding melody in the background. NOT Boy II Men, Color Me Bad, All-4-One, etc. BUT, is a boy band. WEDDING MELODY IN BACKGROUND PPL!!! Nevermind, I found the band that I was talking about (UNV "I'm so In Love"). Everyone was completely off, not paying any attnetion to what I wrote, but I MUST say, Mikey Mike did a pretty good job. I'm glad you can read correctly. Thanks! Thanks for trying all!
Hard Rock wedding music. . .? I'm working on my playlist for my wedding and really want to incorporate some of my favorite artists. I don't want to offend anyone and there will be kids, so no "bad words", please. And the hardest two parts - - I need it to be mainstream enough that people can dance to it and I don't want just "power ballads". I like rock & hard rock. Here's what is already on my list: You Shook Me All Night Long (AC/DC), New York Groove (KISS), Authority Song (Mellencamp), White Wedding and/or Dancing With Myself (Billy Idol), Girls Girls Girls (Motley Crue). I'm already doing soft stuff by Alice Cooper & Bruce Springsteen. I'd really like to find an Ozzy Osborne or Sabbath tune and any other suggestions are welcomed. THANKS!! I'm walking down the aisle to a string quartet version of "sweet child o' mine". Gn'R & Billy Idol are two of my faves so I may work in even more of their stuff. It doesn't have to be wedding-romance type stuff. I want lively stuff that people are going to get up & dance around to. Scorpions - I can't believe I haven't looked at all their CD's in my ipod yet!
HELP!! I need a help making a list of dance songs for my wedding reception.? I have a lot of love songs, and a lot of just slow songs. I need help making a list of songs people can dance to and have fun. I am more looking for Rock and country music. Please help with any ideas!
We still can't think of a recessional song! My fiance and I can't come up with a reccessional song. We are trying to make our wedding individualized and personal, so we don't want the typical wedding songs that the wedding websites list. We're having an outdoor garden ceremony. The ceremony itself will be slightly on the non- traditional side. The processional song will hopefully be played on guitar by my brother and will be The Rain Song by Led Zeppelin. It's a beautiful song and very slow. For the recessional, we wanted something more upbeat and happy. It can be intrumental, or with lyrics. My taste is music is mostly in the rock genre, and his are rock, pop, country, oldies, and pretty much anything you could think of. Thing is, I HATE most pop music. It makes me want to stuff something in my ears. So that's most likely out. Anyway, could anyone direct me to any sites that could help me out? Or, does anyone have suggestions off the top of thier heads?
What are some beautiful wedding songs? not just the music. im looking for something romantic that is dedicated either to the bride or groom. please list the song names and descriptions of them. thanks. something that can be performed solo, please. thanks again.
Help me write a play list for my wedding ceremony.? I am getting married in 4 weeks today. We are having an outdoor wedding ceremony in the Daintree Rainforest in Australia. I am trying to put together a play list of music for the guests to listen to while they are waiting for the ceremony to start. Something happy and relaxed to get them in the mood for the day. I am trying to create a playlist around the song "better together" by Jack Johnson, that is kind of the feel I am going for.. So far these are some of the songs I am considering: Like a Star: Corinne Bailey Ray My Brilliant Feat: Colin Hay I Hear The Bells: Mike Doughty Universe and U (acoustic) : KT Tunstall I would love some ideas!
Party Music for Wedding? I am trying to put together a list of dance music to be played at my wedding. This will be after the dinner and the formal dances. I want people to dance and enjoy themselves. I am looking for current music; pop/hip-hop/club. But also music that is relatively "clean" because grandma and grandpa will be there. No country please. And no break-up songs. I just haven't been up to date with the current music scene. Thanks! Any current songs that are hits right now? I have all the standards, like Love Shack. But I am trying to limit the cheesey songs. No macarena, chicken dance, electric slide, conga line, mambo #5, hokey-pokey. None of that! Current club-like songs if you can name some. Thanks!
Wedding Songs! HELP ASAP!? Need songs for a wedding...a list of slowjams to be played and a list of fun upbeat dancing songs of old school and today's music. Thanks to whoever helps. Appreciate it.
I need Music Ideas for my Wedding Reception? I need ideas for songs for me and my father-in-law to dance to because I am not dancing with my father because he was never there for me growing up. I also need ideas for the wedding party. My husband and I have our song and I'm just so lost on the other songs. One for my husband and his mom is a good idea too. We have one kinda but we would like ideas. So just list some songs that you like and think that would be good for dances for the party, and the reception in general. Thank you for your help in advance! I really need help with the father-in-law dance and it can't be too father/daughter like. One it will weird me out since I am his daughter in law not his daughter. Not to mention he lost his only daughter like 14 years ago, so I don't want to push the whole daddy daughter thing. I just want a nice slow dance with him.
What would be a great wedding song? My friend is getting married and she asked me to help her with the music and stuff. I recommended Journey's Faithfully,Lonestar Amazed, zztop legs. She wants a lot of love songs to be played ( but only one in which she and the groom are the only ones dancing). I am trying to make ger a list...any suggestions.
Wedding Reception Music? I was wondering if someone could help me in find a website that has a list of songs for differnet dances at my reception, like first dance, father/daught dance, etc... Thanks.
Which Wedding Song Should I Choose? Please choose from the list: http://elaine.stonedsage.com/music-and-lyrics/
I need some good song choices for my wedding.? I need to give my DJ a list of songs. I told him to just play a variety, but he wants only a list. Please Help!! What are some good dance songs for fast and slow. I listen to music on the radio but I am not good with titles or names of who sings them.
Need songs for a wedding, please? My freind doesn't like most of the classics, like "You Are So Beautiful", "Amazed" is purely been skewered to death, "I Finally Found Someone" sounds too "desperate" and "I Don't Want To Miss a Thing"... well, duh. Those "top" songs just are not doing it... I have taken her to every site possible to try to find her something, but she calls the current "top" wedding play lists CRAP. I am in crunch time... I need a better, more up-to-date list of music that would be good for the groom and bride to dance to. Even a song or two suggested would help... I need to apease the great Bridezilla. I think I hat a good note with songs like "Don't Let Go" by Bryan Adems and Sarah McLachlan from the soundtrack to Spirit: The Stallion of the Cimmeroon and "Flying Without Wings" by Westlife from the soundtrack of Pokemon 2000, The Power of One. Are there any more REALLY good songs from movies I don't know about? Just a thought. Sorry, rjbendre. Been there, done that. No help. I'm looking for something that is extraordiary. She's different like that. ... ^--^ ~> Thanks, malroymck... I will have to keep those in mind for my SISTER's wedding... :P
I'm doing my own wedding song list? I'm playing music on an ipod, but I'm having to make the whole play list. So ANY suggestions would be great I like classic music, like Frank Sinatra, etc. We also like classic rock. We also like some alternative music. We really don't like country, but we DO like some, just not the country that has the country twang to it. Any ideas would be great! Thank you very much =)
Last song for wedding... HELP!? Hello all! I'm hoping you can help me help my nervous fiancee. Earlier we picked out the song "I Feel Good" by James Brown to be our last song in our wedding. We found out that the trumpet player was nervous because he knew we needed a good piano player for back up. We only have an OK piano player (at least as far as Jazz goes). He's good at reading music, but we're not sure he could pull off a funk song. SOOOOO.... anyone have any other fun ideas for a last wedding song? It can include a piano, trumpet and/or a flute player. If we get really desperate we could have my best man play some guitar as well. (acoustic). If you have any ideas, PLEASE let me know. We'd like to steer away from "traditional" wedding music and do something a little more fun. (although if you have a good traditional one, don't be afraid to let me know... we're getting desperate. I'm due to give a list to my fiancee at 8:00 tonight! Thanks!
Music for my reception? Is there a website that lists songs for wedding receptions, that I can preview preferably dance music but I'm gonna need 4 hours worth of music, any ideas? thanks
I need a list of current/popular songs to dance to at a daytime wedding that arent 2 raunchy or clubby. Ideas? My sister is getting married this summer and she asked me to come up with this list of music. The reception's going to be from around 1 to 4 in the afternoon so the music shouldn't be TOO clubby...but it should be music that's popular right now and that people can still dance to. I'm also looking for songs that HOPEFULLY aren't too filthy or at least ones that have an edited version. If you have any good suggestions...please help!!!
Wedding and Reception Music? I am having trouble getting my list of songs to play at the reception together. Does anyone know of any good websites or songs that we can use? PS: We listen to country, pop-ish, rock. Artists like Simple Plan, Kelly Clarkson, Colby Callet, Carrie Underwood, Rascal Flatts I can't afford to hire a DJ. Trust me I've thought of it
Old music at a wedding? my fiance and I love OLD music (frank sinatra, dean martin, ella fitzgerald, etta james, frankie vallie, etc.) we want a very self-centered wedding (what WE want, not what everyone else wants)... as a guest would you be bored if you didn't hear the macarena or celebration or the cotton eyed joe, etc? Or would you prefer a list of classic older songs, that allow you to enjoy the other guests' company? for those that say I have to do what the guests want... why? Do you go to other parties people are hosting and expect them to cater to your wishes? I have a hard time understanding why the people we surround ourselves with on a daily basis (who know what we like and don't) would expect us to be completely uncomfortable with the music played at OUR wedding?
How can I play ipod music at my wedding reception? I put together a playlist on itunes, and intend to buy an ipod to play all the music at my wedding reception to save money by not hiring a DJ and have portable music to take on the honeymoon. Now I'm starting to worry that my receiver and speakers won't cut it at the reception, even though they rattle the windows of my house when I play my songs full throddle from the play list on my lap top using an auxiliary cord plugged into the laptop's earphone jack. I'm not that electronicly savvy...Please help. The music is so important for this occasion and I painstakingly hand picked every song and put them in the perfect order. Help! Anyone electronicly savvy!!
modern soft rock/alternative songs for wedding walk? Hi people! Im working on a list of songs for my wedding ceremony. My fiance and I are not traditional and and want the music played at out wedding to represent US (what a concept right!LOL) One of the songs we love is Everything by Lifehouse. Does anyone have any ideas for songs that are similar to that one? Thanks for you help!
OKAY People!!!! I require a listing of music that can be played at a wedding reception. Songs with dances? Any song with dances to them, or fun songs for the attendees to have a great time.
First Dance Song? We are having a pretty traditional, yet modern wedding. I'm unsure about what my reception music. Our bridal party/intro song will be something like, "Let's Get the Party Started" (or whatever that song is called) by the Black Eyed Peas. I orignally wanted our first dance song to be "Bless the Broken Road" (again, whatever it's called) by Rascall Flatts. However, I really love "At Last" by Etta James. It's just an amazing song. However, I feel like compared our other more "modern" music....it will seem out of place. During dinner, we plan to have typical love songs from the 70's, 80's and 90's. For the dancing part, I plan on having a mix of today's popular music and party favorites. Some older songs from the 70's for our parents, aunts and uncles...etc. Our garter toss...is Justin Timberlakes, "SexyBack" So, as you can see. We are having a very modern music list. Will this one "older" song be very out of place. Also, please don't tell me..... "It's Your Day" I really want people's honest opinions on how this would fit in with the rest of our music. We aren't having a theme either.
I need good music for my wedding reception...any ideas? I need about 40 more songs to complete my list...I need both love songs and fast songs...ill take anything except for rap.

I hope you can help me find maybe a list of songs....it hard, i know. I appreciate your help. thank you.
Wedding Songs? So the wedding is quite a ways off (not this October, next October), but I'm very bored, so I decided to work on the list of songs for the reception. Here is what I have so far: Vanity Fair - Mr. Bungle LOve You Madly - Cake The Guitar Man - Cake Boats and Birds - Gregory and the Hawk If I Were Only a Child Again - Curtis Mayfield Strawberry Letter 23 - Shuggie Otis Digital Love - Daft Punk Making Days Longer - Rjd2 Black Crow - Jamiroquai Desperate Kingdom of Love - PJ Harvey I Want To Sing - Regina Spektor Us - Regina Spektor Fidelity - Regina Spektor Samson - Regina Spektor That Time - Regina Spektor Treefingers - Radiohead A New Friend For Jimmy - Black Swan As Serious As Your Life - Four Tet I would like some suggestions for more music to play. Absolutely no country music. Also, no Top 40 stuff, it's bad enough to hear it on the radio, God forbid I hear "I'll be" or "You and Me" on my wedding day. My fiance has requested lots of Funk music for the reception. So please make some funky suggestions! Thank you! Uh, my parents aren't invited to the wedding. They are very sick people.
Please list any songs you can think of that would be nice to DANCE to at a wedding.? I need some good dance song, either fast or slow, doesn't matter. I would also like to know what kind of music would be good to play while we are eating lunch. Thanks!
Help me jump this hurdle! Need a song OR where to find a list to choose from? My uncle has a BEAUTIFUL singing voice & plays the guitar just as beautifully. He's agreed to provide the music/vocals for my ceremony. One of the songs we're having him do is Kenny Chesney's "You Had Me From Hello"...our song...."awww...." BUT my 12 yr old daughter who is not only going to walk me down the aisle, also has a beautiful singing voice & wants to sing something for us at the wedding. Everytime I come up w/a song I think will work, either the lyrics aren't quite right or the music would be to difficult to fill properly w/one acustic guitar. I'd like to find something that they can sing together as a duet, that would sound pretty w/1 guitar? Does anybody have any suggestions ? Either a song OR where to look? I've been looking for 2 months, so please don't think I'm being lazy in asking for help... And I realize I already asked this under "weddings", I did get some good ideas there, just thought I'd get some more/diff suggestions via this forum. THANKS! well...as I said I had this also posted under weddings...and between some answers there and going back to my initial list of possibles, I've decided on Keith Whitley's "When You Say Nothing At All" "best answer" here will have to be up to the voters as I cannot decide myself! But THANK YOU to all who provided input..and though your suggestions may not have been picked as what to sing, it gave me a good idea of some pretty songs to play at the reception! THANKS AGAIN!!!
I'm making this list......? Of music for my wedding (it's 6 years away so no rush=]) but... Getting a little stuck in the music category. =/ Here's my list of just a few I could think of, to give you an idea of my style: 1. Pure Imagination -Willy Wonka 2. Somewhere Over The Rainbow 3. The Wedding Song- Peter, Paul, and Mary 4. Part of Your World- The Little Mermaid (no, I'm not 10 years old, but these are some of my favorites because of their childish innocence with meaningful lyrics. lol) 5. L-O-V-E -Frank Sinatra 6. The Wonder of You- Elvis Presley 7. I Know You- Sleeping Beauty 8. Surfer Girl -The Beach Boys 9. Twist & Shout - The Beatles 10. Hmmm.... Can you think of any classic (or off-beat but fun =] lol I was thinking "these boots are made for walking" for my wedding march :P) Any suggestions? Thanks soo much. =]
What songs should I play for my dollar dance at my wedding? We are doing the dollar dance at my wedding. I thought it would be a great way to spend a little time with the guests and get some great pics. But me and my DJ talked and we dont really want to do songs that have to do with $. So I was going to see if I could get some help. Do you know and good dance songs? I know I have to have Van Morrisons "Brown Eyed Girl" on the list. Any kind of music will do, except anything that will put me to sleep...lol.. Thanks..

How do I have just my specific songs played at my Miami wedding? I am getting married in Miami. For part of the wedding, I want to have something sort of like DJ service, but I want complete control over the songs. In fact, I want to have everything chosen in advance from my (and my fiance's) mp3 collection. So....should I: 1) Hire a DJ to play songs only from my list and my mp3s - and not worry about what he has or doesn't on his list (can this be done)? 2) Find a speaker set and just press play? I guess I'm looking for someone who can manage the music but not choose it. I don't want to be limited by a DJ's list. Is this normal in this age of mp3s? Anyone have any specific suggestions - especially for people in the Miami area? Thanks! BTW: It's not that I can't respect a DJ's craft, it's that music is our life. My fiance and I have spent years crafting our own artistic vision of great wedding songs - - so yeah - - the trick is finding somebody who is willing to accept money to honor our very specific vision (not theirs). I have no clue where to start! :-) Specific names would be great, too! I extended this question because I'm really hoping I get luck and get some names...I appreciate everyone's input...but I have to admit I'm crossing my fingers for more websites or names.... PS- Don't worry, I have no intention of playing sapppy romanitc songs all night - yuck ;-)! We have worked hard to create a really thoughtful program with songs for all invited! :-)
I need ideas for songs that have really beautiful melodies.? I am trying to compile a list of songs to be used to seat guests at an upcoming wedding. The songs will be played by a solo pianist, so I am looking for really pretty melodies. Some of the songs I have chosen so far are: Morning has Broken, What a Wonderful World, Have you ever really loved a woman, Fields of Gold. In this case, it's the music that matters most. A lot of songs are considered beautiful because they have really poetic lyrics, but since I won't be using the lyrics, I 'm trying to think of pretty melodies. I know there are 100s of them out there, but when I try thinking of them, I'm drawing blanks. Please, any suggestions? I will be using classical pieces only for the procession and recession and would prefer more contemporary melodies as people are seated. Also I am trying to steer clear of most of the standard run of the mill 'wedding songs'. Thanks for your help.
Best love songs for wedding reception? As many as you can provide!!? I have found a DJ that will play only the list of songs I provide, which I want them to be all the greatest love songs. I'd like it to be a wide variety of music and genres. Please provide as many answers as you can think of!! I am 22 and by fiance is 25, so I'd like them to be songs we'd be familiar with. THANKS ALL!!
Are there any classical music buffs out there that knows what song was played in Four Weddings and a Funeral? After the second wedding-the one of Bernard and Lydia, and the guy who plays Mr. Bean plays the priest, there is a classical piece played in the church. Does anyone know who the composer is, and what is the name of the piece? I am getting married in May, and I think this music is beautiful. I looked at what songs are on the soundtrack, and there are no classical pieces listed. http://www.amazon.com/four-weddings-fune... The original score was composed by British classical composer Richard Rodney Bennett.
