How much does the average wedding hair + makeup stylist cost ? I'm paying about $280 to have her in the morning and before the reception. She's also charging me $50 to drive to my house. Is that expensive or about average? Thank you!!

Are you supposed to tip for your wedding hair or makeup trial? I understand tipping for the wedding day but what about for your trial? To the annoying people that are asking me WHY WOULDN'T I TIP? Just to let you know, I ALWAYS tip my hairdresser, more than most people would. Hair stylist tipping for wedding ? Hi! I'm having a local (California wine country) hair stylist do my hair and makeup for my wedding. The package cost $450.00. It includes a 3.5 hour trial or preview and the day of the wedding hair & makeup. They aren't traveling more than 5-10 minutes to the location. It's one person doing the whole thing and she's scheduled 3 hours to complete my look on the wedding day. Should I tip her? Is $40 too cheap? In my opinion the price of $450 is pretty steep for what she's going to do... so I just would like other's opinions. Thanks!

Makeup/hair stylist was a no show on wedding day! How to warn others about him and get compensated for stress! San Jose,CA Make-up/Hair Stylist was suppose to arrive at my house at 5 AM. At 7 AM, I received a phone call from his co-worker (at salon) who said the guy got sick and could not show up. Co-worker told me to go to the salon. I drove there and hair and make-up was done for me. I drove back home arrived at 9:15 AM when my ceremony starts at 9 AM. Deposit to the original guy was $100. I told him I'd settle the payment AFTER my wedding. I plan on contacting the BBB b/c guy owns a hair/nail salon. What other things can I do to worn customers about this person. Upsetting b/c this no show was due to the fact that he went to a fashion/cultural show at a night club the night before my wedding day. Disappointing b/c he was a referral from a co-worker!
