I want to design myself a killer gown for the wedding of a good friend of mine.. I need some advice? I am short 5- 5,1 and I have long wavy brown hair, brown eyes and a bit tanned skin color. The wedding is going to be a very religious one so it has to be 3/4 - long sleeves and modest but I still want to shine with a nice dress, so what colors and style will compliment me? (if there is something also that I can do to look taller except the high heels)? and what kind of cloth I should use for the gown? The wedding is at night but light colors will do to.. Will putting an extra crinoline under a wedding gown shorten length of the dress? My wedding gown is just an inch or so too long with my shoes on. I've tried taller shoes and they don't raise the front of the dress. I can step on the dress if I try so I need to make sure it's up off the floor so I don't fall on my wedding day. The dress fits so good in the body (where it'd have to be altered due to elaborate design at the bottom of the dress) that I'm trying to avoid cutting my dress.

Do you like my $29.00 Wedding Gown? Lots have asked to see it, but I thought it would be bad luck to post it before the wedding. This is the wedding gown that I made for only $29.00. The fabric came from eBay, the lining was $1.00 a yard at Wal-Mart. The ribbon was also an eBay find. The lace trim came off of my mother's wedding gown and was hand made by grandmother. The train is also from my mother's 45 yr old wedding gown, hand made by my grandmother. There are 5 pics, including the $6.00 bridesmaids gowns. Where can I selling never used wedding gown!? I have ben trying to sell a wedding dress which is very pretty, it has never been used before still in the original packaging. Along with the wedding dress I have the flower girl dress and the maids dress. I have posted the dreses on ebay a few times but no luck yet. I have gone into shops and retail stores but nothing. I paid over $3,000 fpr the wedding dress. I bought it at Eva's Bridal, I had tried to cancel the making of the dress but it was kind of too late but they did not finish altring the drss to my measurements but its a size 14 but in reality it is like a size12-10. Its a unique dress with a beautiful hand broided designs with a long train with broided design. So where can I go to sell the wedding gown and the other drsses? I know I will not get what I paid for it but why have it in the box in the closest if its going to turn colorish with time, when someone else can use them and enjoy them. If by the looks of it I'm never going to use them... So please help me out!

What to do with an old wedding gown? We are divorced as of last week, but I still have my wedding dress. It's pretty, was designed and custom made for me. I've never sold anything on e-bay although I tried. I no longer have sentimental reasons to keep it, and I don't want my (non-existing) daughter to wear it. What do you think of this wedding gown? It is a Maggie Sottero It is ivory in color and is embroidered with double pearl embellishments in swirly designs. It is a 2 piece corset gown with a box pleated skirt. My sister in law re-styled the dress into a spaghetti strap style in 2006 and wore it for her wedding too which was neat that someone else got to wear it. Thank's for everyone's input. Will I regret wearing a colored wedding gown? My mom thinks that I will regret looking back to my wedding photos if I choose not to wear a white dress. Well, I look terrible in white! I was married 10 years ago and my mom said the same thing...so I wore ivory. It was ok, but now I am 32 years old and I want something different. I was going to have Nurrielle custom design a spectacular one-of-a-kind dress for me in either a rich pink magenta or aqua blue (probably costing somewhere in the neighborhood of $5,000-$8,000). Then I was going to have my bridesmaids wear white :) BUT...I look at my friends' wedding pics and they look so gorgeous in their white gowns! Sometimes I look back and regret "going against the grain" in past situations... what do I do??

how do I get started? I have the most beautiful wedding gown designs in my head but I can't draw a stright line so getting them down on paper is a loss. who would I go to to have them drawn-up? I've asked around at local dress shops,wedding events,art and fashion schools and have even told people I would split any profits that came along if someone wanted to buy the designs but no one seems to take me serious! What do you think of the "Toilet Paper Wedding Dress" bridal shower game? This game is played by dividing the guests into teams, giving each team a few rolls of toilet paper, and asking them to to use it to design a "wedding gown." Then, a winning gown is chosen. I am throwing a shower for my friend. Her grandmother, mother, and a few aunts will be there, in addition to the other bridesmaids and young (20-something) friends. Do you think that this game is appropriate? Have you actually ever played it? If so, was it fun? Instead of this game, I am considering giving each guest a few pieces of tissue paper to design a veil. Which game sounds better? Or are they both lame?

A good site for pictures of colored wedding gowns? I am looking for a dress that is white with purple (violet not lilac). I am having a difficult time finding any sites that have examples of these that I like. I looked at the alfred angelo website and I am not in love with any of the designs, although I go like the idea of having the back lace up with purple and then open to a purple train. My goal is to make beautiful dresses at more affordable prices for the bride to be. My problem: I cant sew and I have NO CLUE how to even start this up. I know I have to start small, but I dont know where to start, except by drawing up my designs....then what? And do I need a license, etc? Where can I get my wedding gown? Okay, please read what I am looking for first... I want a white dress with ORANGE roses on the bottom. I do not want these to be tacky though. They can either come that way or be died the way I want them. I do not want a super poofy bottom...some flow is good, but not too much and not too little. I am unsure if I want straps or not, it depends on the dress. I want a long train. A ribbon on the waist may be okay. Not too much design, and not too many sequins. Not too much clevage, but some. It may need to be in a larger size...not extremely smal. I do not kow dress sizes, but I wear an 18 pant size right now..yet I plan to drop about 50 pounds and will be about a size 12 pant size then. I have a large chest, so it has to house that! lol I do not want to spend over $2,000 and preferrably not that much. I need to choose a hairstyle to go with my halter top wedding dress.? I custom designed my wedding gown to get exactly what I wanted. It only cost me 150.00!!! Anyways, I have little less than a month to decide how to do my makeup and hair. I'm white French tipping my nails. I'm wearing pretty natural makeup, with the exception of black eyeliner. I'm making my bouquet with ribbon and glass beads, and other out of the ordinary non-floral oddities. Everything is completely white. Here's a couple pics, to give you an idea of my face shape, and length of my hair. Wedding Nails, can they be colored? My wedding gown is white with navy blue straps & train (Bonny Bridal #449). I don't want the plain old traditional french manicure. I wanted to add some color to it but still look elegant. I've tried searching the net for pictures but no luck!! I was thinking of either a french style but with navy tips instead of white, or get the white with a navy blue stripe along the bottom of the white & maybe a design on 1 or 2 nails per hand. Where is a good palce in Michigan to find a unique wedding dress? I went to David's Bridal to find a gown, and everything is pretty but way to common. I also went to a few small bridal shop and found the same things I did at David's. I am on a tight budget to so its not like I can have my gown designed. Please Help!
