Inexpensive wedding favors? any good ideas? and is it even necessary?
What are good, inexpensive favors for an outdoor wedding/reception? I'm hoping for something that's worth keeping, not just something they will throw away or eat and have nothing left to show for it. Unfortunately, are budget is going to control what we can use. The wedding is in early April, but it's in Arizona, so it'll be relatively warm. Not formal, but not casual either. We want our guests to be comfortable, no ties or suit coats required, but we'll be dressed up as usual. The wedding is medium sized, about 120 guests or so. I would like something inexpensive, but still be nice and elegant. I want it to BE cheap, but I don't really want it to LOOK cheap. Therein lies my problem. :)

Also any website with good pricing for weekend wedding packages, for a honeymoon. We were looking to go to jamaica.
What are all of you doing for wedding favors? I need some ideas for inexpensive favors- I was thinking of doing the hershey bar favors with personalized labels, but they really end up expensive after doing them. My theme is a beach-themed wedding, with seashells and sandcastle decorations (like an enchanted sandcastle wedding theme) Yes my wedding in on the beach, but reception is inside the cottage:) Hmmm, gold fish in bowls is extremely different. It is a little "too different" I want something my guests can keep forever as a keepsake:):) Plus what if the goldfish dies before I can give them to the guests??? I did message in a bottle invitations, so I don't want to do anything with sand in a bottle for the favors!!!
Whats a good, inexpensive wedding favor? We are getting married 5-24-08 and we were looking at custom printed M &M's but for a 100 people it would be like $250!! So we are thinking that may not be the way to go. We were planning on having them done in purple and silver, for the wedding colors. Its a very low-key affair, everyone bring a dish type event.
VERY inexpensive (read: CHEAP) wedding favors?? We're getting married on August 2nd. I am trying to find ideas for really unique, fancy wedding favors that are inexpensive? My wedding is on September 20, and I want everything to be grand and formal. My wedding is taking place in a beautiful old church, with antique wooden pews. The reception is in our local Elk's Club, in a huge ballroom with hardwood floors. I love the antique, old fashioned look of everything so far planned. Our centerpieces will be large glass bowls filled with water, floating candles and rose buds (probably light pink or orange). We have not officially picked our colors yet, but are leaning towards sage. I am having a difficult time finding an idea that I like for favors. My budget is about $1.00-$1.50 per favor. Thanks for any ideas! Not cheap, but inexpensive ;-)
Wedding favors? We are getting married in July and want some cute, unique, but ultimately, inexpensive wedding favors. Our colors are light blue and raspberry. Any ideas?

Inexpensive wedding reception ideas? I'm getting married in August and need some ideas for inexpensive decorations, favors, etc for my reception that incorporate our colors...navy & red.
Any Wedding Favor (DIY or inexpensive) ideas? My sister and I would like to either make wedding favors or buy very inexpensive ones (under $1.50 each) for a Febuary wedding. The rest of the wedding is going to be pretty expensive and up-scale so please do not suggest anything too tacky.
DIY wedding favors? Ideas, please! My fiance and I are paying for our wedding ourselves so I need to keep the price down whenever I can. In addition, we will have almost 300 people at our wedding so wedding favors can prove to be outrageous in price. I love arts and crafts, so what I want to know is if anyone has any ideas of inexpensive favors that I can make that will be completely unique? I would love to have something that you don't see at every wedding. Thanks.
What is a good wedding favor that is VERY inexpensive? I have 200 favors to give and only $150 budget. Some have told me hershey's kisses, jordan almonds, jelly beans. Any other ideas? HELP!

Wedding favors and wedidng party gift...? I can't seem to find a favor I really don't think is a waste of money... the best ideas I've found are carmel apples, tulip bulbs, saltwater taffey (we live in Charleston, SC and we are having a very Charleston wedding), and "Mint to be together" mint tins. What do you think and can you think of any other inexpensive, interesting favors? What should I get my bridal party? I'm thinking something unique, I've got a 50's style to the wedding... Maybe a Michael Buble CD... I'm lost on presents to the groom's men.... HELP PLEASE! What do you think of using 4" x 4" honey combs (as in still in the wax) with little custom labels? I found a local honey farm willing to cut me a deal.
What are some good souveniers/trinkets from Illinois, Wisconsin, Montana, and/or Wyoming (as wedding favors)? For my wedding reception, each table is named after a state that my fiancee and I have been to, and the favors are related to the state. For example, Indiana has racecars as the favor because of the Indy 500, and South Dakota has pieces of Fool's Gold because of the gold rush in the 1800s. But for Illinois, Wisconsin, Montana, and Wyoming, I can't think of a really good favor (and one that is relatively inexpensive). Any suggestions?
Wedding Favor Ideas for a "Match Made in Heaven" theme? Looking for inexpensive wedding favor ideas for a "Match Made in Heaven" theme. Thanks in advance.
Jamaica/Caribbean Style Wedding Favors? We are incorporating Jamaica into our reception because it has a very special place in our hearts and because of that are adding personal touches to our wedding. I already know what I'm doing for the favors ( making a box out of wood and putting sand in the box, tying their place cards to sand dollars and sticking them in the sand) but I wanted to do a little something else. Initially I was going to buy sugar cane (i found a really great site that sells caseloads and it's very inexpensive sugarcaneswizzlesticks.com) and I was going to take a few sticks per person, wrap in celluphane, tie with a ribbon and place at each persons table setting. Unfortunately I'd be taking a risk b/c the lady told me that sugarcane may not last that long like that and it might dry up like sticks..... PLEASE help me come up with another cute/inexpensive/island inspired possibly edible favor to have at each person's place setting. THANK YOU!!!
Wedding Favors & Centerpieces? I'm helping a coworker put together her wedding in April. The colors she's picked are Ivory/Champagne, Gold, and Black. We have the invitations more or less figured out. I'm just trying to help her come up with favors and centerpieces that are fairly inexpensive. She wants it to be classy, simple, and elegant without breaking the bank. Any ideas would be much appreciated! Thank you! :) PS: I'll pick a best answer.
help with simple wedding favors and etc.? I am looking for simple wedding favors that can be cheaply made. I like the spoonful of kisses idea and was wondering if there are more like that, that are relativly inexpensive and easy to make. We are getting married in the fall and wine and white are our colors and we are going to have 300 guests (thats why i need ideas that are easy sice I will have to make so many!) and we are getting married outdoors but having the reception indoors.
***Where can I find inexpensive plain favor bags for my wedding?***? I keep finding them 12 for $15.99. I need 350 or so, so that will really add up! A candy buffet is what I need them for Marine Lover.
Summer wedding favors? We are getting married in July and I was wondering if anyone has any ideas about favors that are inexpensive and original. We are expecting around 350 guests so obviously I don't want to pay more than a couple dollars per favor. We're also staying away from a beachy theme. Its just not us. Any suggestions would be great!
need some good ideas for wedding favors for the guests...? something inexpensive...do it yourself type thing
Wedding favor ideas? My fiance and I are getting married in April in Las Vegas and we're having a reception here in Ohio when we get home. Obviously we're already spending a fortune on the wedding so we're looking for inexpensive favor ideas. Our colors are red, black and white. We're working hard to tie the vegas wedding into our reception. Our cake will be decorate in fondant cutouts of hearts, diamonds, spades, and clubs. The tables will be decorate with cards, poker chips, and dice instead of flowers. So I really want favors that tie in to the theme but everything is so expensive (like personalized playing cards). Does anyone have any ideas?? I'm willing to put alot of time into creating something if you have any ideas for something I can make?? or maybe you know of something out there i can buy? Thanks in advance!!
Anyone have any good DIY wedding ideas for table (6 ft banquet) centerpieces and favors? - summer wedding..? I'm having a June wedding, and I would like some unique idea's for Reception table center pieces on a 6 ft banquet table, and for wedding favors for my guests. I'm trying to keep it as inexpensive as possible but still look good. My colors are red, black, and white. White table cloth, black plates, with red accents (napkins things like that). Our wedding is fairly casual, and we are getting married in the same hall as our reception, do our guests will be sitting at the tables while we are wed... I am pretty crafty so I would like to do this myself.. kind of home-made!! thanks all for your input or experience in this!!!!
Wedding favors question? I know that some people aren't even doing favors to save money since they can be costly and are often forgotten about, left behind or thrown away, but I would really like to do them. Does anyone have any ideas that I could do myself or that are inexpensive but still unique enough that they won't be forgotten about? We have thought about doing CD's with some of our favorite songs on them and some songs from the wedding, but that will mean making about 200 some CD's. (very costly) Also our original idea was to do black white and red m+m's (our wedding colors) but that will cost a lot of money for the candy alone, much less the bags and tags. I am very crafty and willing to do a lot myself. (we are already doing our programs, invites, and decorating ourselves) but I just can't seem to think of something that won't cost us an arm and a leg to make them unique! duct tape; thank you for the suggestion about the candy buffet I had thought about that too (I forgot to say that in the original question) but my FH doesn't much like that idea. Thank you everyone for the good ideas, but I think we will probably end up skipping them all together or at least decorate some card stock with a cute poem on them.
Any ideas for inexpensive wedding centerpieces?!? I'm looking for something that is inexpensive for wedding centerpieces. I know the "typical" flower arrangements are fairly pricey. I'm not opposed to using flowers, I just don't want to spend a ridiculous amount of money for something that's only going to have meaning for one day! My colors are orange and fuschia and I'm getting married next July...so I was thinking of going the goldfish in vases of water route, but my fiancee thinks that's "inhumane." I also like the idea of making the favors the centerpiece, but I don't really know what I would use to do that...Any other thoughts?! Thanks! :)
Where to buy custom Christmas ornaments for a wedding favor? I am getting married on December 27th this year, and I would like to give out customized Christmas ornaments as favors. Any idea where to look? I would like something elegant and simple (heart, star, snowflake shapes perhaps) that I can add our names and the date to. Also, would like them to be relatively inexpensive (no more than $5) since I need to buy about 100 of them.
HELP... need personalized wedding favors on a TINY budget? I'm getting married in less than 3 months and I really need to find a wedding favor that will blend with my wedding. The main theme of the wedding is watermelon pink & ivory. The bridesmaids dresses are pink, centerpieces and flowers are pink, linens are pink & ivory... i don't want food... i want it to be something they can keep. i was looking at personalized seed packets, but they need to be inexpensive and i want pink or ivory flowers. also i found this wedding/love story that i thought about printing on ivory paper and rolling it up (like a scroll) and tying it with pink ribbon. any other ideas like these two would be great. thanks!
Anyone have any cute wedding favor ideas? I am trying to come up with something cute and simple for wedding favors. My wedding colors are pink and silver. I saw some inexpensive circle silver containers. But what to put in them besides the same ol' mints, almonds, bla bla etc. Or does anyone have any other ideas or websites that have good ideas on making them? Let me know! Thanks :)
Did you go overboard with the wedding extras? I discovered the craft stores a little late. I am not a crafter by any means and never thought to look there for wedding stuff. Now I want to get all kinds of things.... but it would be going overboard! So I can't. My mom ordered personalized shot glasses as wedding favors. We still have to figure out if/how to dress them up. I have little swan boat thingys that we could dress up and use as favors. I saw some inexpensive toasting glasses through Oriental Trading. They are so cheap it's tempting to get them. My mom wants to get personalized napkins! I think I got tons of gifts for my attendants. I have tons of decorations, but no centerpieces. Everytime I see some cute favor, I want to get it. I also ordered some wedding activity pads and plastic wedding cups from Oriental trading for the kids, so they don't get bored. I got a recipe book with blank cards at my shower. I would love to have people somehow share their favorite recipes with us to put in the book. Since someone asked.... No, I am not an alcoholic. I probably average about one alcoholic beverage a year! But I do know some people collect shot glasses from places they visit, etc. because it's a rather inexpensive "souveneir". Also, shot glasses, depending on the shape and size can double as a votive holder. Maybe I'll put votive candles in them so people don't get the wrong idea.....
What is the best Wedding favor to have at the tables? Forget the little candies wrapped in mesh, or in a box. Any other ideas that are fairly inexpensive, but not cheap looking, yet worth taking and memorable? Wedding is planned for Nov. No specific theme. Colors are pink, and gray.
party favors for my wedding? Here is a bit about my wedding. I am having an outside wedding and formal ceremony with tuxes bridesmaids and dresses. my reception on the other hand is going to be informal. It is going to be a pot-luck and it is an open wedding (so far we have estimated about 200guests may come. should I scrap the party favors or is there something inexpensive but unique I could do? something that won't matter if we have extras at the end
Couple Shower Favors? Does any one have any ideas for an inexpensive couples shower wedding favor?
Favors that are inexpensive, and that gusts will actually like? I'm trying to think of some unique favor ideas, other than the usual little box of jordan almonds or whatever that are usually at peoples weddings. They need to be inexpensive, like 5 dollar or less per table. We dont want to do anything that would be clutter in someone's home. Afterall, who wants a mini-photo frame with our wedding date on it? Any ideas? We have not yet picked a theme for sure. We are either doing a red/white theme (our colors) a movie/Hollywood theme, a Star Wars theme, an amusment park theme or doing no theme at all. (Calling it a wedding theme.)
Inexpensive Wedding Ideas? Just want some inexpensive deco ideas for reception and party favor suggestions. thanks
Any ideas for a March wedding centerpiece? Any ideas for favors? Both need to be relatively inexpensive. I have 100 guests and 10 tables. I would like to do pink and silver for my colors but I also like pink and green. Please help.
Cheap wedding ideas: $4000 budget? And that's Canadian money too. Just throw out any suggestions you have for fun little wedding and reception tidbits. We're thinking of giving out origami doves as wedding favors (we're having a Christmas Peace & Love) theme. My family and I are going to attempt to take care of the food, for 175 people.....ugghh. Have any inexpensive food ideas? Anything you can throw at me is great! Thanks!
Ideas for giftbag to keep kids quiet and entertained at a wedding reception? I am anticipating several kiddies at my daughters wedding... it is an adult event....but thats another story. My own kids are grown and its been a long time.....ideas for puzzles, novelties that would be appropriate and inexpensive as a "favor" to be handed out at the guest book table. The idea is just to give them something to do while we are at the table....I think the hour and half for dinner is just a long time to expect them to be still. Ages 6-12. Nothing that flys, chimes, rings or buzzes. Make separate girl/boy bags? or have ideas for generic items?
Any ideas where to find mini tape measures for a wedding favor? I'm wanting to do mini tape measures for a wedding favor but I'm having a hard time finding them. I'd plan on personalizing them myself if I had to keep them inexpensive or do custom print if not too expensive. I want to have them say "love beyond measure" and our names/date of wedding on them. So far the ones I've found are too expensive or require a huge min. order. (only want approx 150 and looking for something around $.50-$.75
does anyone know where i can find small glass cake domes.? I am making individual sized cakes for my wedding as favors and i was wondering if anyone knew where i can find inexpensive small glass cake domes. i have tried searching but i only find domes for large cakes.
More Help with Planning Friends Wedding? Im planning a wedding for a friend and I need suggestions for inexpensive decorations. She wants to keep them to a minimum because the bulk of her budget is going to the reception where she is having an open bar. I've included links to her dress, bridesmaid dresses, and flowers [orange tiger lillies] (just to give you a hint at the "theme" and the wedding is next October) What I really need help with is table centerpieces and ceremony decorations. I like the idea of having pompador balls on the isles but not sure what flower to make them out of. Also, any ideas for favors would be appriciated too. Parents paying = parents controlling the entire wedding?? Long story short,.... Was given a budget, planned entire wedding around that budget. Nickel and dimed things and was able to splurge on 2 things we really wanted...a videographer and a string quartet at the church. Parents decide that they want to invite more of THEIR friends, so they demand my budget list and overhaul it to include what THEY want. They ultimately cross the string quartet off the list because it's just plain "stupid" and money could be spent better. Okay okay....like I said, we (my fiance and I) skimped in places to afford classical music at our ceremony, which is $500 for four adults to play. I am making my own invitations, getting my veil off eBay, ordering favors off eBay, getting inexpensive flowers for my bouquet....to name the few areas I am saving money to afford music that we want at the church. We are about ready to take a loan out and tell my parents to save their own $$.....we should have done VEGAS! Opinions? I REALLY appreciate everyone's opinions! I agree with each and every one of you! *I also want to say I am not giving any thumbs-down...I'm not at Level 2 yet!*
Sweet Sixteen Help...Stores, fundraising, favors, invites, making my own cake etc.? I am planning my sweet sixteen (well, the one I hope to have). I don't have a lot of money, actually any at all. I am going to use some fundraisers to raise money, and donate some to a charity. Any fundraising ideas? As for the sweet sixteen I want to have an under the sea theme. I want to make my own cake, any good under the sea wedding type cakes (pics etc). I need ideas for any online stores with inexpensive prices, also any favor ideas, invite ideas, and as mentioned before cake, and fundraising ideas. Please anything that will save a lot of money, I can get some money from a mothers friend who insists that he will pay for it so it's extra special. PLEASE HELP! and nothing to do with drugs, or prostitution please. I can make fondant, gumpaste etc. I can make anything pretty much since we have a friend who works at Michael's craft store, and get a 50% discount. My friends have a band and they are playing at the party, but that was a GREAT idea!
Bachelorette party supplies? I am planning a bachelorette party for my friend's wedding, in which I am a bridesmaid. I would love to get some feedback on some good decoration ideas, and where to get cheap supplies. I am looking for things like plastic martini glasses and so forth and also need some ideas for unique (but inexpensive) party favors and game ideas. There more you ideas you have to share the better! The only idea the bride gave me was the she likes pink and plaid (???), there rest is up to me (and you all!) Thanks so much!
I need some ideas for party favors for a bridal shower.? There are a lot of people coming so they need to be inexpensive...around $2 each and also we want it to be something they can always keep. It is a summer wedding.
