Does anyone have an ideas for elegant wedding favors? I am getting married on June 9th, 2007 and my wedding is going to be very elegant, a black and white wedding and I am having trouble picking favors, I know I would like to do matchbooks, but I need something else and I can't find anything that I like and that is elegant. Any suggestions?
Inexpensive yet Elegant Wedding Favors....? i'm getting married 9/8/07 and my colors are going to be dark purple and chocolate, and i have no idea what do do for favors, and i'd like them to be around $1.50 each (or less, haha), any ideas?????
Help! Need fancy wedding favors -- fast? I really need help with favors. I just found out my sister-in-law is getting married in 3 weeks -- the short notice is not her fault, she just found out too. Anyway, I'm asking for ideas for making VERY nice favors, not pillow mints in plastic champagne glasses (that's the last resort). She won't get to have a big wedding, but at least she should be able to have an elegant wedding. Thanks in advance!!
I am making my own wedding favors and I need suggestions please!? I am having an elegant tropical themed wedding and I came up with the idea of making ordinary sea shells (I bought at a craft store) into personalized favors. I sprayed an adhesive on the shells and sprinkled pixie dust glitter on them and sealed them with a primer. I now want to put "Ashley & Gabriel August 18, 2007" on them so my guests can have a little momento to take with them. I am having trouble coming up with a way to get the writing on them. I was thinking about using a fine tipped felt pen, but then I was thinking about craft paint in fine tipped bottles. Does anyone have any suggestions for writing text on shells? Thanks!!!! These are pics from a website that sells these shells for $5.95 PER SHELL!! (which is why I'm making my own...and I personally think mine actually look better) http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a382/anas_contradiction/sparklyshells1.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a382/anas_contradiction/sparklyshells2.jpg This pic is my inspiration for how I want them personalized: http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a382/anas_contradiction/personalizedshell.jpg
What should we do for wedding favors? We are getting married in May. our colors are purple and silver (rhinestone) and we are stuck on what to do for favors. everything else is done. Our ceremony is outside and our reception is inside. We want something classy and elegant but something that will also be used/ate by our guests. We also have 300 + guests invited.
wedding favors..mmmmmm...? I want a elegant favor to put on the table for my guests...but nothing gone crazy you know?? ideas anyone??
Wedding Favors: Too Good or awful? So I have been thinking long and hard about party favors - No one keeps them, they either end up being thrown out or collecting dust somewhere. I really don't feel like spending money on something that won't be appreciated As I was sitting in traffic the other day this awesome (or just down right horrible) idea for favors popped in: in a small little box put in 2 big tme lotto tickets and have a message that says - "I hope you get as lucky as we have" or something to that affect. My fiance and I like this idea - but what do you think? (the wedding is going to be simple, elegant and we'll have a joke here and there during the reception- such as dancing to sir mix alot - we are a fun and "silly" couple for lack of a better term)
Wedding favors? Help! So I found this cute little idea for wedding favors. It's a lottery ticket in a very elegant looking small envelope, on the cover it says "Wishing you riches from the mister and misses." My mom says its tacky. I think its cute. What do you think?
Baby Girl Names? Do it yourself wedding ideas? I have 2 questions: 1. What do you think of the name Audrey Mae, or Audra Mae? Do you have any other ideas for little girls? 2. My wedding is in Aug of 2008, but Im planning now! Any ideas for do it yourself wedding flowers, or favor ideas? I want to have a very elegant wedding, but I want to keep it cheap (as in cost). Ideas? I really want to keep Mae as the middle name, because I want my daughter to have part of my name, because my son, has his daddys middle name.. :) If i were to make my own flowers, with real flowers, how long would i have to make them before the wedding? To keep them fresh? PLease dont get me started on the whole fact that i will soon have 2 children and im not married yet and all that stuff. I've heard it all before. . . keep those opinions to your self please! Thanks!
Wedding Favors & Centerpieces? I'm helping a coworker put together her wedding in April. The colors she's picked are Ivory/Champagne, Gold, and Black. We have the invitations more or less figured out. I'm just trying to help her come up with favors and centerpieces that are fairly inexpensive. She wants it to be classy, simple, and elegant without breaking the bank. Any ideas would be much appreciated! Thank you! :) PS: I'll pick a best answer.
Wedding Favors - Changed my mind? Darn it! I let my mom choose the wedding favors because she did a great job with favors for past showers. But now I am having second thoughts. From reading various posts here, and magazines, etc. I am thinking that her choice may not have been the greatest. She chose these shot glasses http://www.discountmugs.com/usa/glassware-5120-cl-clearshot-glassess.htm Now I think I'd rather have something like this http://www.favorwarehouse.com/favors/d4157.html and use them as place cards. Then the guests wouldn't have something with our names plastered all over them, they are actually equally priced (maybe actually LESS expensive, and I think more elegant - and functional. I don't need to hear about how favors are required, waste of money or anything else along those lines. That is not the point, nor is it relevant here. I don't think I want to hurt mom's feelings and tell her I am having second thoughts about the favors (it might be too late anyways) What if I do both??? Just to add some perspective. We are mid-thirties. Not even CLOSE to being alcoholics. I'm not against alcohol, but do't really care for it. I'll probably toast with 7-up! LOL. My fiance is a former Marine, Police Officer, and does have a beer every so often, but far from being a boozer. So I think anyone who knows us at all wouldn't think anything of the sort about us.
Need Ideas for Wedding Reception and Favors? I need some really good ideas on decoration for my reception, I need some ideas that are simple but elegant. My colors are Chocolate, Cream, and Lavender.I've been thinking about decorating every other table with large balloons, but I really dont know how that would look.Im going to need some great ideas for some favors, I want it to be favors that I can do myself.
Where to buy custom Christmas ornaments for a wedding favor? I am getting married on December 27th this year, and I would like to give out customized Christmas ornaments as favors. Any idea where to look? I would like something elegant and simple (heart, star, snowflake shapes perhaps) that I can add our names and the date to. Also, would like them to be relatively inexpensive (no more than $5) since I need to buy about 100 of them.
what do you think of these for an elegant, formal wedding? I think these are great, but wanted an outside opinion. Our wedding is very elegant, black, white and platinum with all red roses. These would be our favor boxes and place card holders all in one. http://www.efavormart.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=1924
Can you help me find an east solution for a project for my friends wedding? I am making the favors for my friends wedding. She is donating money to a breast cancer organization and I have to make something up to put at each place setting. Yesterday I purchased a Fiskers 4-in-1 Embossing Corner Punch to make these a little more fancy. They look wonderful so far but they need something else. I would like to make the embossing stand out a little better but I don't know how. I was looking at craft dust/powder but I am not sure it will work or even how to use it. I have been told that I have to buy one of those craft heater gun thingys but I don't have the extra money to spend. I know there has to be something else I can do that will look elegant. Can someone help???
Fall Wedding Favor Help!? Hi! My wedding is in October of 2009. I am having trouble picking a wedding favor. I need something elegant and contemporary. No pumpkins or anything... I have a few ideas attached. What do you think? Any suggestions? Thanks! http://www.holidaydecorationsdirect.com/asp/show_detail.asp?sku=ARF1081&refid=FR251-ARF1081 http://www.orientaltrading.com/ui/browse/processRequest.do?requestURI=processProductsCatalog&categoryId=377320&BP=2110&cm_mmc=GoogleBase-_-datafeed-_-datafeed-_-datafeed&sku=94/798&ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=94/798 http://surprisesignscart.com/index14029.html http://www.myweddingfavors.com/fall-in-love-shaped-soap.html http://www.shopwiki.com/detail/?q=Oak+Leaf+Cookie+Favor&s=418505&o=112121796&d=leaf+cookie+cutter+favors
Best ideas for an elegant/formal wedding on a budget? I am planning my wedding. I have very formal and traditional taste, but I am also quite modern and open to all ideas. However, I have a small budget. I would like to keep it under $10,000. If you estimate $50*175 people for the venue/food/alcohol...you have 8750. That leaves practically nothing for flowers (i think I'll have to do silk), decor, favors. Any ideas where to cut costs and not sacrifice quality? What do guests really care about? to be honest (and probably sound like I care what other people think way too much)....I want the wedding to have the "Wow" "Jaw-Dropping" effect on the guests. I normally don't care what people think...I'm in sweatpants all the time, but I want it to be amazing Also, regarding the guest list...it is hard to cut down. On my father's side alone I have 24 aunts/uncles and 46 1st cousins that are over the age of 16. On my mom's side I have only 8 aunts/uncles and 4 cousins. Also, both families meet for every holiday and bday. We a tight knit family.
What to give as wedding favor? I wanted to give some kind of snack as a wedding favor. For example, glazed almonds or walnuts, toffee, bark, cookies, etc. I would like to bake it but nothing that takes too long. I planned on putting it in a small box or brown (sturdy) bag with a ribbon... simple but elegant. Any ideas/ recipes? Also, the wedding is this Saturday... last minute yea I know!! Enough for about 25 people. Thank you!!!
Which of the following names should I name my wedding and event planning company? Le Noce- Tender Touches- An Event to Remember- Moments of a Lifetime- Happy Endings- Elegant Ambiance- Happily Ever After- Celebrations- It has to have Wedding and Event, and it can end in either of the following: Management Professionals Planners Consulting Or let me know of any different names. I plan to also eventually offer other wedding services, ie; invitations, favors, etc.
Where can we have an elegant but affordable wedding and reception in Las Vegas? My fiance and I would like to get married in Las Vegas because our families are far apart geographically and we don't want to favor one hometown over another. We think that if everyone is going to have to travel, we might as well all travel to someplace fun and exciting. We want our wedding to be classy and fairly traditional, but not religious. It would be nice if everyone could stay at the same hotel and not have to travel from the wedding to the reception. We would like a full bar and sit down dinner, but want to keep it under $100 per person if possible. We expect from 40 to 75 people in all. Also, we would prefer indoors because the weather there can be, well, you know. Any suggestions? Thanks!
Personalized favors? I already brought my wedding favor boxes to make. But I just came across this website that sells weddings favors at good prices. Which personalized favors do you think looks more elegant? http://www.efavormart.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=1236 - the personalized satin bag or http://www.efavormart.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=1599 - the personalized black box. I really can't decide! I plan on putting chocolate kisses inside either the box or bag.
Need some tips on decorating the wedding dinner table? We are having a dinner after the wedding at a nice elegant resturant for about 30 guess. But I would like to decorate the table alittle more but what things could I do to make it a little more nice. My colors are lavendar and white. I already bought some lavendar colored candles with clear glass candle holder and I was going to be a white ribbon around the glass and light them and put then out the on the table. The table will be in a "U" shape. I will also have the favor out on the table in front of each chair. What else could I do? The cake will be off to the side on a round table, what could I do with that? Any ideas that are too expensive.
Wedding Favor candy? I am having these wedding favor jars for my wedding favors....My colors are ivory satin and champagne. The sticker I will be using is ivory. What kind of candy should I use to fill these jars that will look nice and elegant? White Jelly Belly's? White M&M's? Jordan almonds? Butter Mints? http://www.labelsbuydesign.com/images/themecandyjar2.jpg
Chocolate Covered Strawberry Favors? I really love the idea of giving my guests something edible as a wedding favor. I think Chocolate Covered Strawberries would be a really elegant touch. However, they are expensive from a store. So, I'd like to make them myself. How much would this cost me? I'm having anywhere between 130-150 guests and I'd like to give 2 strawberries to each guest. How much do you think this will cost (on average-since prices of food vary depending on where you live. Strawberries are about $4-$5 dollars a pound here). Also, how difficult is this and how far in advance can I prepare them? I was thinking about giving to charity, but I still want to give my guests something to walk away with. I like the idea of giving them something they can eat.
I am thinking about having a candy station for my wedding. I would like to make it very elegant and plentiful? with a cute saying so I was thinking about saying "How sweet it is to be loved by you" Derrick & Yakima 06.07.08, thanks for sharing in our day. What is the best place to order candy and cylinders. What do you think about the saying or do you have anything better? Are candy stations a good favor, or do you think they are childish. But everyone likes candy! Please give me your suggestions on favors, I really want my guest to feel appreciated and like the favors that will help them remember our special day.
Ideas for my beach theme wedding? I am having a beach theme wedding, my colors are: aqua, sand, and white. I am planning a elegant, classy wedding. I need some ideas for reception/ceremony decor, favors, flowers, BM & MOH dresses, centerpieces, etc. PLEASE HELP!! Thank you so much! Also invitation ideas, I was thinking about message in a bottle for the invites, but that would be costly, So I was thinking about asking my wedding party (like to accept being in the wedding) in message in bottles.. what do you think?? We are having a church wedding, and I just want the feel at the reception to be like were at the beach.
do you like this wedding favor idea? I am getting married next year and we want everything to be as cheap as possible but still very elegant. We think there are ways to save tons of money but most people don't choose to do some research! So, here is my idea...rather than give a traditional type favor that will collect dust, we thought of printing out a 4X6 or 5X7 black and white picture of us from walmart (so it's only 19 cents a piece, a little more for a bigger size) and then writing a thank you note on the back. we also think we'll do a centerpiece giveaway at each table. does anyone think this idea is really bad?? let me kno please!! and if you have ideas, i would LOVE to hear them!! Thanks for the answers! But I'm not sure why everyone is assuming this is my thank-you card?? A typical wedding favour has some sort of tag on it that says "thank you being apart of our special day". I understand that I need to send a thank you card after the wedding, I'm not THAT cheap. But thanks for everyones opinions!
Help with wedding colors! and decorating? I originally wanted just burgundy and white for wedding this oct.(classis, elegant) BUT now i am thinking of incorporating silver.... how would i use all these colors together w/ flowers, favors etc... bridesmaids already have burgundy dresses- should they have silver shoes? or should i forget about silver alltogether? P.S. i already have silver rose disposeable cameras, and silver rose stickers for theinvitation envelopes...
**THE NOTEBOOK (movie) Wedding** Any suggestions for ways to incorporate the time and setting of the movie? My fiance and I LOVE the movie "The Notebook" and would love to have some things that remind us of that time period and setting in our wedding. We want to have it in the country with a country feel (but not gingham check tablecloths and lots of sunflowers). More elegant, but still a country feel. Probably outdoors at sunset, lots of candles, maybe mason jars with candles in them hanging from the trees. My favorite color is blue, especially aqua blue and turquoise. Any other ideas for how to pull this off, including invitations, attire, decorations, favors, cake, etc. Anything that reminds you of "The Notebook". We don't want to go so far as to quote lines from the movie, but just want the feel of that time and place. Thank you in advance!
Are there any quotations or poems about the relationship between pearls and love? I want to give away crystal oyster shells that hold a pearl inside at my wedding as favors. To us, the pearl symbolizes the precious thing that has grown inside us or ... we have found a precious thing inside us, whatever. Does anybody know of an elegant way to express these thoughts? I want to print the sentiment on little scrolls to attach to the favor boxes. Thank you!
Reception Decoration Ideas for a Garden Wedding? I need help thinking of ideas for centerpieces, decor, favors, etc. for my reception. The reception is going to be held in a garden and we're serving an afternoon tea. My colors are red, ivory, and champagne and the theme is sort of Rustic/ Vintage/ Garden-y. I'd like some simple and elegant decorations. Any ideas? Pictures would also be appreciated.
My sisters and i are trying to plan our parents 25th wedding anniversary any good ideas? There are six of us girls and we want to be able to show our parents how much we care for them by throwing them an anniversary party. They never had the chance to have a real wedding as they were really young when they married and didnt have the funding to provide. My sisters and i want to be able to do something special and hold a reception somewhere to in a way have the wedding that they never had. Here's the catch....we dont have a lot of money to provide so i am looking for low cost but elegant anniversary ideas for theme, decorations, and favors. I just need help with ideas to put together a night that they will be able to remember.
Any cheap ideas for a wedding in Fall 2009? My fiance and I are having our wedding in October 2009 and are using persimmon (redish/orange) and gold as our two main fall colors with hints of brown and greens. We want our wedding to be very fallish so we have already bought silk leaves (which will be used on each side of the aisle and on our tables at the reception) and have ideas of what we want for our centerpieces (floating candles). His aunt is making our wedding cake and my church is preparing the meal (traditional Thanksgiving meal) so these things are covered. Our favors...we have no idea what to do as we are having 150 guests to make favors for. We know we don't want to use any food products so maybe candles or something. Anyways, if you have any simple but elegant ideas please let me know. I can't wait to hear from all of you. P.S. Incase this matters my dress is ivory and my bridesmaids are persimmon. My fiance is wearing an ivory tux and his men are wearing brown tuxes.
I'm planning a Halloween/Gyspy themed wedding.. Can anyone help? I am pretty much starting from scratch here. I have time (the wedding isn't until Halloween 2009) I have a few idea, and a SMALL budget. I do plan on hiring a fortune teller. And for the party favors I was thinking of having the like 'cootie catchers' (like we used to make when we were little kids).. I will take other suggections for favors also.... But I really have no idea what what to do for centerpieces, or other decorations.. I want it to be elegant yet unique, but I don't want the theme to over shadow the fact that this is still a wedding... Can anyone help??

Ways to let people know you've donated in their name? (Favor)? Our favors for our wedding is a donation to an environmental society, since our families are so big on hiking, going to parks, camping, etc. But we're trying to find an elegant or unique way of letting people know we donated in their name without spending even more money on favors. A card for each person? Something on the tables informing them? We don't want to pass out something edible (too many dietary restrictions to worry about). Also, if you're going to give me pain and suffering about the fact that I "shouldn't do donations because people wouldn't approve," go answer elsewhere please. It will in no way answer my question other than stating your opinion. We ARE doing a donation, and you can't change that.
how to decorate a ( favor )bottle? I got my bottles from mexico, they have a picture of my fiance and i on the front, with our names and wedding date also on the back they have a verse from the bible, my wedding is going to be elegant and i am not sure how to decorate them or what to put inside of them to make them special... they have a stopper and you cant see through them,,,
Too fancy for this reception? First of all, we're having a BBQ (for 250+ ppl) after a smaller wedding since I'm getting married outdoors. My fiance's parents are paying for the reception food/drink but we're both paying for everything else. My fiance said he likes the clear plastic plates because it looks much nicer and seems more sturdier. I'm not sure if I should agree with him or just get some regular ol' paper plates. I will have centerpieces, guest favors, balloons, a space jump for kids and I'm also going to keep the wedding color scheme going, which is white/silver. The only thing that will be set apart from the wedding is the casual/jean dress (food is messy). Before I give him an answer... My questions are: (1)Aren't clear plastic plates at weddings used as a substitute for china at an indoor reception because of the elegant look and sturdiness? (2)If I do go along with the nicer plates, will it look TOO fancy for an outdoor/casual wedding reception? The wedding is in July yea, I'm making hand-made favors and centerpieces... but I get what you're saying.
Sweet 16 theme help!? I am having a sweet 16 in september. It's an elegant type party with dancing and stuff....kind of like a wedding type deal. I need a theme asap and I can't think of anything creative and all my friends have had awesome ones so far. I'm into nature, the environment, and the color green and stuff......I need an elegant spin on something like that and favor ideas/theme names would be especially helpful! oh and I would like it to be really unique as well....like something never done before...thanks :)
Anyone know where I can get prisms in bulk for cheap? I'm thinking about using these for decorations since they are elegant looking in themselves and will give off a rainbow pattern. ALSO I may tell the guests to choose one to take home as a favor. How does this sound? I'm having an Old Hollywood theme wedding in a church with beautiful stain glass windows. I'd love to hang several in the windows. Also, I'm wanting to do a lot of crystal looking items for decor, and I thought these might be a good addition. Any thoughts? of COURSE i wouldn't be mad if you used the idea! :) actually, email me about it, and i can tell you what i'm planning so far and maybe together we can come up with some great ideas! tonya1@hotmail.com
