Cookie Wedding Favors Knowledge Base
Homemade cookie wedding favors? Anyone ever baked cookie favors for their own wedding? I'm an experienced baker and am considering it... not sure if it'll be something I will regret before the wedding--don't want to be in too bad of a time crunch. :-/ Also, the cookies I would bake freeze well (for up to three months). I would just need to assemble them in boxes closer to the wedding so that they dont spoil after they defrost.
wedding cake cookie favors? I saw some cookie favors that looked like wedding cakes in a Brides magazine. So I bought a cookie cutter that looks like a 3 layer cake and some little celephane bags to put them in, but I'm not sure of of what kind of cookies to bake. I would like to bake them about a week to 10 days in advance. What kind of cookies will keep? (Not gingerbread-please) Also, any suggestions for the icing (melted white chocolate?) and decorating
Cookie Wedding Favors?? Okay so we found these SUPER cute sand dollar cookies to use as wedding favors for our beach wedding. However, they aren't huge so we are giving people like 4 each and buying them in bulk saves a ton of money. I need to find a way to package them, like a clear sleeve or something that will work to hold the cookies. Any ideas? We are tying the bags with personalized ribbon that matches our wedding colors and adding a charm and the legend with them. Any ideas on how to package them would be great! Thanks :)

I for my wedding favors to be cookies with the letter "C" on them? I need to find a cookie that is premade (like archway or something). I need a cookie with a really smooth surface. Any suggestions. I also need to find a stencil of the letter "C". What should I use I use to dust on the stencil to make the letter? Coco powder? Colored sugar? Any ideas?
fortune cookie favors/placement cards? I'd like to buy fortune cookies w/ take out boxes for the wedding favors/placement cards. I have seen a few sites that offer this, but was wondering if anyone has done this or can recommend a good site where I can order them. I would also like them to be in the colors blue and chocolate.
Need different crazy fun ideas for wedding favors and centerpieces!!!? Ok- I am trying to think of different off beat things for wedding favors and centerpieces. I am trying to have a very fun and different wedding. So far I have decided that I am having a Masquerade Ball Wedding and we are going to ask the guest to please wear black or white. The invitations will read something like Black and White Ball.... We are going to supply feather mask for the guest at the tables. My dress is either going to be a medium pink or hot pink and the bridesmaids will be black and white. I have check out all the basic things for favors- CDs, Candy, Cookies, baskets, candles, cookie cutters ect... but none of them are different enough. I really like the small bottles of wine but they were $5.00 per person and we are having 200 guest- OUCH! For centerpieces- I like something different then flowers... Any ideas no matter how crazy or weird are greatly appreicated! Yes, I am a very tacky!! And I don't need any comments about how different and strange I am!!
Fall Wedding Favor Help!? Hi! My wedding is in October of 2009. I am having trouble picking a wedding favor. I need something elegant and contemporary. No pumpkins or anything... I have a few ideas attached. What do you think? Any suggestions? Thanks! http://www.holidaydecorationsdirect.com/asp/show_detail.asp?sku=ARF1081&refid=FR251-ARF1081 http://www.orientaltrading.com/ui/browse/processRequest.do?requestURI=processProductsCatalog&categoryId=377320&BP=2110&cm_mmc=GoogleBase-_-datafeed-_-datafeed-_-datafeed&sku=94/798&ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=94/798 http://surprisesignscart.com/index14029.html http://www.myweddingfavors.com/fall-in-love-shaped-soap.html http://www.shopwiki.com/detail/?q=Oak+Leaf+Cookie+Favor&s=418505&o=112121796&d=leaf+cookie+cutter+favors
Have a question abt wedding favors. I asked before abt chocolate & someone said lindt truffles. I went to the? website & was thrilled with classic bag, an asstment of 45 truffles of 3 types for abt $13. If I gave everyone one of each type in a little bag, the total cost per each would be about $2 ( assume the bags cost abt $1 each). I was all set to start to search for bags in a wine or burgandy color that I could get for cheap. I started on my online search, got the mail & got an invitations by dawn catalog. I went through the whole catalog & while I didn't find any bags, I did find some boxes. I also found some cookie bags. which brought me back to my first thought of doing cookies with a heart cookie cutter at the tables. That got changed to at the end maybe with coffee "to go". But wedding in May. Then thought since we are doing a donation & having bud vases as centerpieces/take aways, don't want too much. But still want something edible. So, what would you prefer as favor: three bagged lindt lindor truffles at beginning or cookies at end with bottle of water? We are doing a donation to charities that help diabetes, epilepsy & mental illness. And we will have a card on the table for each guest that explains this. As something for guests to "take away" our table 'centerpieces" will actually be bud vases with 2 or 3 roses on the table - enough for one vase per each couple. The edible thing was just something I wanted. I was trying to figure out what to do. Then on another question someone mentioned the lindt lindor truffles, I figured that would be perfect. Until I saw the catalog with the cookie bags. I work at a catering hall & I think it's a nice gesture for a winter wedding to allow guests to stop at a "send off station" before they leave to pick up a baked treat (cookies or brownies) & some coffee, tea or hot cocoa on their way out. But our wedding will be in May - that's why I said water bottles. Also just realized we will NOT be having an after party. Because it won't fit in right with our guests and would cost too much.

Wedding Favors for a Double heart Wedding? My fiance and I are getting married in 2009. We wanted a Double Heart Theme. I was thinking about the cookie cutter idea, but I also wanted to incorprate something along the "chef" part because my fiance is one. I was also wondering if anyone had any witty ideas or comments? Need help! lol. thanks!! Also I was wondering.. how many different favors should I make for each person? Whats a normal amount? I was thinking about a favor box, scroll, and something else.. what do you think?? omg, I love love LOVE all your ideas, especailly about the make your own cookie, mini cook-books, and also the webpages of different ideas! thank you all SOOO much, I'll let my fiance know about the ideas!!! Thank you!! I'm still deciding.. but leaning towards the cookie cutter idea, but I might use the cookbook idea for close family and friends. Not sure yet, but love the ideas! thanks you!!!
Wedding favor ideas? I am getting married in the fall and want to do something unique as wedding favors and decor. Something other than the cookie cutters or candles. Themes I'm looking at are a wine theme or garden theme (for fall). I would like to cut costs in this dept, so something I could make myself would be great. Any ideas?
Where can I purchase bulk cookie cutters? I am getting married next summer and as a wedding favor, we are giving away a recipe with a cookie cutter. I am looking for heart cookie cutters, any size. I need about 150-175 of them. If anyone knows of any websites or stores, help would be appreciated. THANKS!!!
Royal icing? Have you ever used Royal icing on cutout cookies? I've seen a lot of AMAZING cookies on the internet, and I've noticed most of them use royal icing. I was gonna make it today, but opted instead for a "meringue buttercream" icing. Bad idea. The recipe included shortening, which instantly makes the volume of the icing go up, resulting in a creamier version. That might be good for cakes, but not for decorated cookies! I so want to copy the awesome techniques these master cookie people make, but don't know where to start ;)! If you don't believe me, check out these awesome cookie designs. So talented! http://www.davidtoc.com/cookies/index.cfm?Cookie_ID=1 http://www.rollingpinproductions.com/Baby.htm http://images.google.ca/imgres?imgurl=http://www.beau-coup.com/Pictures/cookie%2520-%2520beach%2520150.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.beau-coup.com/cookie-wedding-party-favors.htm&h=150&w=150&sz=9&hl=en&start=1&tbnid=WqYPvjV6KRhKeM:&tbnh=96&tbnw=96&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dcookies%2Bbeach%2Bwedding%26s
Giving a speech at my wedding can i give our story? Craig and i had been kinder friends turned high school enemies. Football player and Literature Geek. Hate. Curse words. Punches and shoves. Eventually with the years it all dimmed and we ended up working together during a trip we were having dinner and dessert was brought to us. My dessert had a silver fortune cookie which i opened and it read "will you marry me?check : yes/no/maybe/moron" it made me laugh He got on his knee as if on cue by my laughter, pulled out his ring and genuinely said " Make me the luckiest man on earth. Let me wake up to that laughter everyday...forever" What surprised me is that i don't usually wear rings and he didn't know the size of my finger yet it was perfect. And everyone in there Clapped. i'm not pulling your leg . I felt like i was in a movie. As wedding favors we're giving out the exact same silver fortune cookie with the same sentence "will you marry me ? check yes/no/maybe MORON" And our names signed under it. What do you think?
how taboo is it to have a punch and cookies wedding reception? I am going to have a wedding in October and I am trying to figure out how to plan out my reception. I can not honestly afford to buy (or be in debt) 75.00 or so a head of a sit down menu dinner and I was thinking traditional buffet style but someone mentioned to me that it would save a lot of money to have a punch and cookie reception. I could have on the buffet table lots of cookies, punch, and pies and at the end maybe a little candy buffet for people to fill up their wedding favors with out of beautiful glass candy dishes that I already have. BUT how taboo is that? I mean it is considered cheap and cheesy? I've never really been to too many receptions so I don't know. I was going to provide my own meal buffet myself but I was thinking it is a lot of stress to cook so much food by myself (no one to help) the day before my wedding. The reception is 2 PM, and is outdoors. Besides the reception mostly traditional, floral and pretty. Kind of a rustic outside scene. What should I serve? Yes I plan on having a pretty 3 tier pedestal cake from Walmart made that only costs like 138.00 and I will add all my own fresh flowers. What should I do about people who are diabetic? Have a 'sugar free' cookie section?
Need help with cookie decorating? I am making sugar cookies shaped like wedding dresses as favors for my cousin's bridal shower. Unfortunately this project is way over my head, I didn't realize what I was getting into. I found a recipe for royal icing, and that is working out well, but I need a thicker icing to do the detail work on, like the border around the cookie and to do some decorative designs on the cookies. I can't find a single recipe to use for this! I would prefer that it not be buttercream as some of these will have to be stacked, any other ideas or is buttercream the only choice?
What Do You Think Of This Favor? http://www.orientaltrading.com/application?namespace=browse&origin=searchMain.jsp&event=link.itemDetails&demandPrefix=12&sku=5/1220&mode=Searching&erec=3&D=cookie%2Bcutters&Ntt=cookie%2Bcutters&Ntk=all&Dx=mode%252bmatchallpartial&Ntx=mode%252bmatchallpartial&N=0&sd=Wedding+Cookie+Cutter+With+Card My friend is thinking about giving these favors out at her wedding. She doesn't want to use the card that in the picture, but plans on printing her own card. It will have her favorite cookie recipe. What do you think? What would you think if you received this favor? She likes the idea, b/c this is relatively cheap. It will be less then $100 bucks for everything. Thanks for the advice. My friend always e-mails me with these ideas for her wedding. Usually, I know the answers, but sometimes I like to give her different opinions.
Wedding Cookies??!?!?!? Does anyone know a good website where I can purchase us wedsing cookies for a favor?!?!? I have found a bunch but they are outrageosuly priced $4 and upward a cookie. I would just make them, but we are having a destination wedding, and I won't have an over, etc, and the supplies necessary to make them. If anyone knows of a place who has a decent deal on cookies I would be so appreciative! They don't have to be wedding themed either, they can be beach themed as well! THANK YOU! Sorry for the typo's above!
Should I Go With Cheap or Practical? I'm trying to figure out favors for my wedding. I thought I was going to do M&Ms, b/c I believe food/candy is more practical. However, I've recently come across so heart shaped cookie cutters. They are about 50 cents each. I'm having about 150 guests, so that would be $75 for the cookie cutters. Then another $25 for the tags I would attach to them. So, overall $100 for 150 people. Or about 70 cents per favor. I know people will probably leave them behind, but for 70 cents, you can't go wrong. Plus, I like to bake, so I would just take the extra cookie cutters home with me. So, I go w/ the candy which will cost a little more or w/ the cheaper cookie cutters.

Wedding favor ideas? I have a couple ideas for wedding favors for a May wedding. Small crowd - need only about 15 total. Also, we're giving out bubbles at the church. Which is your fav: Cookie cutter with 'recipe for love', coffee or tea with 'love is brewing' cards, small candle holder with tealight or our color m&m/jelly beans wrapped in organza, 'Seeds of love' in silver pail? Any other great ideas besides these? Thx a ton! OH...and it's mostly the over 40 crowd attending, and I KNOW they're going to be keeping, even looking for, a favor. It's a tradition at every wedding they've ever attended, so I'd rather get them something useful. Another idea I forgot to mention was mini silver frames or mini photo albums. I thought about adding in our pics for them to keep, but that route proved too expensive. Thx again for your ideas and 'votes'.
