Where can I buy a pretty envelope to put coffee in for a wedding favor? Has anyone done this. I would also like to put the Bride and Grooms name on the envelope and the date of the wedding.
Have a question abt wedding favors. I asked before abt chocolate & someone said lindt truffles. I went to the? website & was thrilled with classic bag, an asstment of 45 truffles of 3 types for abt $13. If I gave everyone one of each type in a little bag, the total cost per each would be about $2 ( assume the bags cost abt $1 each). I was all set to start to search for bags in a wine or burgandy color that I could get for cheap. I started on my online search, got the mail & got an invitations by dawn catalog. I went through the whole catalog & while I didn't find any bags, I did find some boxes. I also found some cookie bags. which brought me back to my first thought of doing cookies with a heart cookie cutter at the tables. That got changed to at the end maybe with coffee "to go". But wedding in May. Then thought since we are doing a donation & having bud vases as centerpieces/take aways, don't want too much. But still want something edible. So, what would you prefer as favor: three bagged lindt lindor truffles at beginning or cookies at end with bottle of water? We are doing a donation to charities that help diabetes, epilepsy & mental illness. And we will have a card on the table for each guest that explains this. As something for guests to "take away" our table 'centerpieces" will actually be bud vases with 2 or 3 roses on the table - enough for one vase per each couple. The edible thing was just something I wanted. I was trying to figure out what to do. Then on another question someone mentioned the lindt lindor truffles, I figured that would be perfect. Until I saw the catalog with the cookie bags. I work at a catering hall & I think it's a nice gesture for a winter wedding to allow guests to stop at a "send off station" before they leave to pick up a baked treat (cookies or brownies) & some coffee, tea or hot cocoa on their way out. But our wedding will be in May - that's why I said water bottles. Also just realized we will NOT be having an after party. Because it won't fit in right with our guests and would cost too much.
Have an idea's on wedding favors? My colors are mocha and light blue, I was thinking of nice packets of coffee with brown mugs. I want to be creative, my wedding is Oct 08 in PA. Any ideas as favors? I'm having about 160 people so nothing crazy. Also, are you suppose to give a favor to everyone or one perfamily?
Wedding Favors? I am having such a hard time picking my favors. I wanted a bottle stopper, and then was reminded that not everyone needs one. I wanted to do candles, but then was reminded that they burn away and people won't have anything to remember the wedding by. I don't like ANYTHING on the internet- except the little sliver fortune cookies that can be set somewhere to remind people of the day. They aren't edible lol. They are resin, I believe, with little gems. They are the only ones that I like. I don't want coffee, or tea, anything to do with wine obviously, no scoopers, no magnets or coasters... What do you think I should get? Do you think the fortune cookies wll throw everyone off? It isn't an Asian themed wedding, but do you think they are cute? Take a look! http://www.favorideas.com/shopping/prod/SP-3890-FC.htm
chicago themed wedding favors? My fiancee is from seattle and works at starbucks so were giving coffee, and Im from chicago and also want to give something chicago themed. I was thinking the hot dog gum, and garret caramel corn. Any other original ideas? Something small, and not too expensive.
For our wedding favors I want to have river stones with the word love on one side and our name and wedding? date on on the other. I think this is a good favor cause people can just throw the rock in their garden, or on their coffee table, or in a plant with the word love side up. But people kept saying favors get thrown away. So what if I just ordered 100 instead of 150 ( the amount that are invited) and just put them at every other place for decoration and small bag of candy at the other places. That way people who don't want the stones wont take them and others can and there won't be any left over. Is that lame?
What is the best recipe for Basbousa? I have decided to make Basbousa as one of the desserts for our wedding and serve with coffee... or I will use it as a wedding favor for the guests when they leave. Most of them are American and will never have had this before... Do you think this is a good idea? What is the best recipe for basbousa that you know of? If you don't think this is a good idea can you tell me of another easy dessert that I can make that is Egyptian or Middle Eastern that I can serve or give to the guests as favors? Please give me your recipes below: Thanks!
How early can I make edible favors? My wedding is in October and I was wondering how early I can make edible favors. The candies I am using are Hershey Kisses, chocolate covered pretzel rods, and spoons dipped in chocolate (for dipping in coffee or other hot drinks). I just don't want to be bombarded at the last minute.
Wedding favor ideas? I have a couple ideas for wedding favors for a May wedding. Small crowd - need only about 15 total. Also, we're giving out bubbles at the church. Which is your fav: Cookie cutter with 'recipe for love', coffee or tea with 'love is brewing' cards, small candle holder with tealight or our color m&m/jelly beans wrapped in organza, 'Seeds of love' in silver pail? Any other great ideas besides these? Thx a ton! OH...and it's mostly the over 40 crowd attending, and I KNOW they're going to be keeping, even looking for, a favor. It's a tradition at every wedding they've ever attended, so I'd rather get them something useful. Another idea I forgot to mention was mini silver frames or mini photo albums. I thought about adding in our pics for them to keep, but that route proved too expensive. Thx again for your ideas and 'votes'.
I'm having an autumn wedding, but my wedding dress has light blue in it. Anyone have any decoration ideas? I really want the wedding to have an autumn-theme to it, but I still want it to go with my dress! I am thinking my bridesmaids will wear a darker blue with a light blue sash, and they will have lavender/ mauve rose bouqets. I came up with the idea of using baby white pumpkins as place card holders for the tables, and maybe having our favors be personalized irish coffee glasses, but other than that I'm stumped! I want it to be autumn-y but still be a pretty wedding. It is a November evening wedding and will be in an art museum. Any ideas? I'm open to hearing anything, from centerpieces to food stations!
anyone know where you can order about 100 personalized waterproof stickers/labels for a low price? for wedding favors i was thinking about getting black coffee mugs and getting stickers made with our names and the date on them to put the the mugs. (the colors are black, white and hot pink) i need some ideas on the cheapest ways to buy the mugs and stickers or some other ways to pull off the personalized coffee mug idea. also if anyone has some other ideas for wedding favors, that would be helpful too.
Edible Favors need help!!? I bought some really pretty white favor boxes and we will be decorating them to go with our fall theme. I need help with what to put inside! I want something edible because you know, people love to eat. I was going to get chocolate covered coffee beans but everyone I told that too, they thought it was strange. They all said "well, can you eat them?" well, of course, you can....but I dont want people to open the boxes and go "what the heck is this crap?" So, I want something that everyone likes, something yummy, cheap and something that will stay nice and fresh. My mil just went to a wedding. She said the favors were two tiny rock hard cookies....thats a nightmare for me. I wanted buck eye candies but Im afraid they will melt and turn into a pretty little box of choco-peanutbutter goo. So, whats good, cheap, fresh, unique, etc? What do you like to get when you go to a wedding?....gosh, dont these details drive you nuts?! Thanks so much!!! oh, i really dont want the jordan almonds...you always get those and no one eats them...and I really dont want the pastel mints...they just get ground into the carpet and they are kind of chalky....

Unique affordable wedding ideas? Im getting married in October and have a small budget. I am not into the super traditional stuff. I want to do something memorable and fun. We are having an outdoor ceremony and reception, with hors d'oeuverses and a full service coffee bar. I want some origional unique ideas for favors, fun decorations, food ideas, things to keep it interactive, etc.
Tips for planning a cheap wedding.? Ok so we have the basics down. Along with our large wedding we are having a smaller wedding with my very close family and his families close friends and family. This is an Indian Hindu wedding to respect and honor his heritage and families faith. We have the basics down... Rentals (tent, fans and air conditioning, china, glasses, chairs, silverware, linens, tables & dance floor) $2,000 Caterers (they also provide chafing dishes and servers. Include appetizer, naan, parentha, 3 veg dish, 2 meat, 2 rice, and 2 dessert. Coffee, tea, and lassi) $2,000 DJ (with Indian mc) $950 Flowers for Mundup, and garlands $750 Bar (open bar, sodas, and water) $1,000 Invites (RSVP cards, and postage include.) $350 My father is building our Mundup and fire plate for us, we are not including our clothing in the budget. This leaves only $3,500 for everything else. Ok so my question is What can I do for favors, and centerpieces on such a tight budget (about 100 people, 10 tables)? What is left that I am forgetting? I should mention I am Italian American, so I really don't know what is to be included... Actually for the Indian DJ in northern NJ this is one of the cheapest we could find. They go from about 900-2100. So that kind of sucks.. haha I should mention also have a photographer
Crazy Girl got married- Anyone interested in all the details of it? Well, let just say it sounded interesting and the guest didn't really have a good time. Reminder- she is already married and this is a redo. Well, so many things went wrong that she didn’t worry about my mutual friend’s hair and makeup… She gave the girls the wrong time for the hair appointments- so they were two hours late. She didn’t feed them so they were starving and there was no food in her house so they had to order pizza when the lady was doing their makeup. Her house was filthy dirty… stuff ever where and dirty dishes piles up in the sink so everyone was grossed out about getting ready there. Her photographer canceled on her because it was like a friend of a friend and she ended up getting one out of the phonebook and paying 3 times as much. She rented a limo and a Rolls Royce…. And had all this fancy junk like a chocolate fountain and hot chocolate stand…. But the guest were pissed they had cash bar for the wedding. No one knew that it was cash bar so no one had money on them to purchase their drinks. The only time the bar was open was cocktail hour so everyone was at the bar getting drinks and refused to watch the first dance because they wanted a drink before it turned to cash bar. No one really danced or paid much attention to the bride. The food was good but cold because they didn’t have the food on any type of heat source. Her favor was coffee syrup but it was in a cheap strange bottle so no one took it because they didn’t know what it was and half the people spilled it trying to open it. She used hand lotion balm containers with the flip lid. My friend tried to pour it on her hands thinking it was hand lotion but luckily another guest who made the same mistake stopped her! My friend said the wedding was sad and depressing- the groom gave a speech and never mentioned the bride…. The best man never mentioned the bride in his speech either. The DJ was terrible and they could barely hear the music. My friend was trapped in a room with the wedding party and no one got them drinks or any food so she was starving and pissed she missed the 1 hour open bar. Here is the kicker she invited 189 people guess how many really showed? Hints -100 people didn’t even bother RSVPing or returned her phone calls -77 People RSVP Yes. How many really showed? Coffee syrup is like a liquid flavoring made out of pure sugar- she used a clear syrup so people didn't know what it was. LOL- they refused to wear the spanx but she didn't notice because she was freaken out about other stuff. And her wedding dress was very badly stained! And my friend pointed it out and she snapped and said it wouldn't show up in the pictures. Dress was stained because it was from 1930 and is just old and was not properly stored. She just dry cleaned it and called it a day but it's just the point she was so insane picky about everything else. Kit's answer correctly with 47! 10 points to you! 23% showed!!!
baskets for out of town guests..? We're getting married September 27, 2008 in NH. So far everyone is staying at least one night in a hotel. I want to give our guests a little basket of goodies in their rooms, and I do have a small list of items, but they just seem sorta cheesy. Here's what I was thinking: bottles of water, to-go coffee cups, instant hot coco, instant apple cider, cocolate lollypops (one of our 3 favors), directions to various wedding locations, local brochures, tissues, mints, thank you note, disposable camera... also, we have two kids (a ten year old boy and a 5 year old girl)that will be there, what should I include in their packs? i was thinking at least coloring book and crayons for my neice, but my nephew I don't think would appreciate that :) Thanks for any ideas!
Candy buffet? Some people have mentioned it to me, and my fiance loves the idea! This will be in addition to favors (Lindor truffles in a small basket) as just something fun to do along with our coffee bar (having a nonalc wedding...please no rude comments about it). So, we were thinking about instead of doing vases, using decorated boxes and filling them with all sorts of candy. We're having a fall themed wedding. We'll give everyone a small white paper bag to fill with candy. What kinds of candy should we use? What candies would be fitting for an early October wedding (trying to avoid the entire Halloween thing, so please no Halloween suggestions)? Shana_J: your rude comment is not wanted. Please, take your hateful words elsewhere.
Two desserts at the reception? So our prime fixe meal that we have selected for our reception includes a dessert (tarts w/assorted fruit, chocolate silk cake, lemon chantilly, white chocolate cheescake w/berries). I have heard that years ago, you would serve dessert and then people would take home a piece of cake as a favor. That just sounds weird to me. Every wedding that I have been to we just ate wedding cake. I hate to not serve the dessert from the caterer since we are already paying for it, but I really wanted to have a wedding cake. Do I serve both? I love sweets so I don't mind, but will people want to eat both? Do I serve at the same time? I was thinking about serving the wedding cake and then after dinner and dessert I was going to have them set-up a "sweets" table with the desserts and some cookies and coffee so that if anyone is interested they can grab something on their own.
What do yall think about...?? I want honest opinions here..like what would you think, if you showed up and saw this: An ALL Dessert Reception??!! I am having a Saturday night Outside October Wedding in Texas. I'll put on the invitations of course, "Dessert Reception to Follow". The "food" will be in a all glass pavillion, so I wont have to worry about anything melting or anything..This is what I'm thinking: 1. Both Bride/Groom Cakes 2. Candy Bar w/ personalized take home boxes for favors 3. Build your own Sundae Bar 4. An assortment of cookies, w/ old fashioned glass milk jugs 5. Milk/White chocolate fountains, w/ a wide choice of dipping things (fruit, marshmellows, pretzels, etc..) 5. Bite size pies/chessecakes (pecan, apple, pumpkin, assort. of cheesecakes) 6. Fruit, cheese, cracker spread for those that don't want "sweets" 7. Coffee, Punch, Dessert Wine, Water, Milk w/ cookies Honost opinions..I don't want people to say, "Where's all the food, I came to a wedding for FOOD!" I want UNIQUE!
