What do you think of this for a Winter wedding theme? I heard that alot of brides who want a winter wedding can get discounts on alot of snowy decorations, because stores are moving everything out by January for spring stuff and Valentine's day stuff. I'm thinking about having the theme in whites, crystals, and pale blues. Pale blue accents everywhere... kind of mixing with the cold, ice theme.
What are some ideas for a winter wedding? My wedding is 12/29/07 in Long Island, NY. My colors are a mix of blues and silver. I like the snowflake idea, but what are some other things I can do for centerpieces, decorations, bouquets, etc that I can use?
Need creative ideas for wedding reception decorations? My brother is getting married in June. His fiance and her mother have asked me to help with the wedding reception. (particularly the decorations) She is wanting a summer(ish) themed wedding. She knows she wants bird of paradise for her flower. She also wants the colors found in that flower to be her wedding colors. (yellow, orange, light blue-ish purple) Sorry for all the detail. My question is does anyone have any CREATIVE ideas for things like centerpieces at the guest tables and head table decorations. Also she wants to have a unique place for the guests to set their gifts. (not necessarily a table!) eg. a winter wedding guests could place their gifts under a christmas tree. Thanks in advance for your ideas. I really need them!
Winter wedding question! Hi. we are still in the process of setting and finalizing our wedding plans. If we? select and are able to get married in the early part of December 2009, being that it is a few weeks away from christmas, we would probably go with a "christmas theme" for our decorations and colors. So what I was wondering from a ll the good people at yahoo answers is a two part question: 1. should bridesmaids be apple red or wine colored. and what color roses? red roses or black magic roses. it could be one of 4 color combos - which do you like best - 1. apple red dresses with red roses 2. apple red dresses with black magic roses 3. wine colored dresses with black magic roses or 4. wine colored dresses with red roses (this would most likely be the choice if we get married in Sept or Oct - but I'm now asking about December). So, what color combination would be best for the bridesmaids for a christmas themed wedding. (would the decorations of the catering hall make a difference? AND ALSO: A previous question asked about favors for a winter wedding and one of the answerers said that ornaments are ok, but predictable. And if the person did that to not get the ornaments personalized. Now, I like the personalized idea. Think of it a christmas tree ornament that said "Hope and Sal's wedding" Dec. 2009 -(not our real names) but the poser did bring up a point - as a guest, if you were going to get an ornament anyway, would you prefer a personalized one from the wedding like above? OR a plain ornament, but in a personalized box? as in that the box would have from the wedding info? Thanks in advance! Curious to know what people think! Hi. Thanks. want to add a few details. I gave lots of info, bc I wanted to give a complete description of situation. We haven't picked our date yet. But most likely it will be the end of next year. So Sept, Oct , Nov or Dec. We will have the wine dresses with red flowers if we go with a fall month. But December is winter. So I was wondering what people thought. I have heard both red & wine for Christmas-y colors, wanted to know what others thought. I know i have to call reception hall to see what colors they decorate in, & thats why I was wondering if it would make a difference for the indoor pictures. Oh yeah. We & all of our families & all of my friends are Catholic, a Christian religion. His co-workers are the only ones that we're not exactly certain of their religion, but most are of some Christian denomination. & my guy is very religious, & Christmastime is his favorite time of year. So the thought of a Christmas wedding was beautiful. & its OUR wedding!

Winter Wedding (Vow Renewal) Ideas? My husband and I are planning to renew our wedding vows and host an amazing anniversary party in December 2007. Our original wedding was just horrible. At the time I was 15 and he was 18. It was decided (not by us) and thrown together within a month. Therefor I have no idea on all of the wonderful wedding ideas out there...I am completely lost. I want it to be a winter wonderland....frosty with lots of sparkle. It will be held in the evening. I would love to hear any and all of your suggestions! Favors, decorations, clothing, jewlery, poetry, quotes, traditions, customs....anything you can think of! Neither of us want this to be a traditional christian affair as we are more new age/spiritual in nature. Thank you so much for your time and all of your help! I hope you have an amazing evening! :)

I'm very excited to be getting married in the winter, for a little bit of a different feel. ALSO, if any of you have any left over items you might want to sell, I'd love to know about those as well. :)
Winter Wonderland wedding in January? I am getting married at the very beginning of January. I decided to make my theme as a winter wonderland theme. Does anyone have any ideas on decorations or food or anything to use to support my theme??
Autumn or Winter wedding? I can't decide! I love both (considering all the aspects) but which one would you be apt to have/attend? Keep in mind the decorations :)

Wedding colour scheme for winter? What do you think about this colour scheme for a wedding in October? Cream for wedding dress, latte colour for bridesmaids, and chocolate brown for men's suits. THese would also be the colours for the reception decorations. Also what flowers shouls I have with this colour scheme? I was thinking roses, cream for me, what colour for bridesmaids? Oops, oh yes, originally thought it was going to be in December which is why I have a winter wedding stuck in my head! I am aware that brown suits does sound very seventies, however I am not going for a look like this: http://www.zootsuitstore.com/Shopping/assets/thumbnails/stacysuit7013sm.jpg, But more like this: http://www.savviformalwear.com/images/gallery/gallery/full/choc-infin-big.jpg which looks great.
A no-flower wedding? My future sister-in-law has asked me to help her with her snow-flake themed winter wedding. The catch is - she doesn't like flowers. She feels they belong in their natural state and not cut and brought inside. Any creative ways to add very simple and elegant touches without flowers. What about bouquets and boutonnières, center pieces, church decorations, etc. Links to pictures will be especially helpful!! --- Please don't get me wrong - I do wish to honor her wishes and don't judge them. I'm just blank on ideas to help her (w/o going the obvious silk route - which I personally am not a fan of, but she may be okay with).
Dark Blue and Silver/Gray Wedding Themes? I am having my wedding in June of this year and have picked a dark blue and silver as my colors. Originally we were going to have the wedding at night and that way the colors would work but we have now decided to move the wedding to the early afternoon. I realize I kind of picked winter wedding colors...ooops. How do I make it work with a summer wedding theme? What theme would you use with these colors? I'm talking for the favors, flowers, decorations etc. Thanks! I am going to use white table cloths to brighten it up. I already ordered the dark blue bridesmaids dresses though.
What do you think of my bridesmaids walking down the aisle with candles instead of bouquets? I'm having a winter wedding, in the evening. I'm really trying to pull off a lovely wedding on a budget. Flowers are expensive, and so I was thinking we could dim the lighting in the church sitting area (the front would be lit up for the guests to see us well) and have them walk with candles (big ones, so they won't drip on their dresses) and then they can set them down in the front of the church when they get up there as added decoration. What do you think? Good or no? Also, my fiance's family is pretty judgemental, and they are all in the wedding, so I'm not sure if they will go for the idea or not. Also, maybe we could decorate the candles with fake flowers with a hot glue gun or something (ideas for that would be great too.) Thanks! It's a Catholic church and they burn candles for every service. I don't see why we wouldn't be able to because of that. And we could use the sheilds.
Need some advice on wedding vow renewal date.? My wedding date is Dec.3.Me and my husband want to renew our vows (it will be 10 years)The problem is its in winter time and I do not have a house big enough for every one.So it would have to be done outside, but then it might be to cold for the elders. My grandmother wanted me to have it in June or July. And if I have it in June can I use the winter colors for the decorations. This is the time our families get together and see me and my husband recite our vows to one another. When we got married we went to the justice of the peace. We had a lot of hard times and now we are starting over fresh.Bottom line no one thought we would last.So now we want to do this right,in front of or families. We are not having a wedding, more like an anniversary with renewing the vows with the clergy. So even though we got married in december can we do our renewal in june.I want this to be special.
Wedding day attire?? Wedding Colour?? Arrgghhh!!? Our wedding is in early July. It is my 2nd and his 1st. We're having it at home and alls pretty well under control EXCEPT I have no idea what I will b wearing. And I want 2 choose colours but until I know what to wear, I just dont know. What kind of things do people wear for a 2nd wedding in winter? What kind of colours? I guess I need to go out and shop but I just have no idea what I want to wear or what to look for. :-( Absolutely no idea. I want to kind of theme the day around the beach because we met at the beach and our invites have embossed gold shells we're using driftwood, shells and bali flags decorations, I was kind of thinking of yellow and aqua or turquiose theme colours, but dont want 2 buy anything in these colours yet cos I dont want them to clash with what we are wearing. If I did use these colours, what colour gown would go? Yellow will definitely be used, as we are doing a butterfly release and the butterflies are yellow. Can anyone help with some ideas please?
Wedding color selections...what should I do? I'm getting married Feb. 9, 2008 and I'm trying to start planning a color scheme. But, I can't decide what to do! We don't want a Valentine's Day themed wedding because we both think its kind of cheesy, even though we're having it right near V-Day. We want to stick with a winter theme...lots of sparkle, white xmas lights, candles, very elegant. I'm thinking of using black, red, silver and white as our colors. What do you all think? Do they go good together? Obviously, I'm going to wear pure white...bridesmaids I'm thinking of putting in black because i love how elegant it is...and I'm thinking red flowers...and lots of silvery decorations. I don't know though....I'm open to anything at this point...tell me what you think for a wintery wedding! its going to be an evening wedding so im not too worried about the dresses being too dark. thank you all for you help with this! i can't make up my mind about anything lately so its good to hear other opinions! thank you!!
I want to find a native american print but don't know the title. Can someone help me? I am looking for a print I seen about 6 to 8 years ago. I thought Lee Bogle painted it, but I can't find it on his website. I think the title has something to do with, "the bride", or "the wedding" or something in that line. It has a native american women dressed in a long white decorated doeskin dress. She might be wearing a headband with decorations and a long feather on the side. If I remember right, I think she's standing by a tree, but I'm not quite sure. She was very beautiful with a serene look on her face. Her hair was loose and the scene could have been in the winter. I haven't seen this print for quite awhile so I'm not quite sure of all the details. If you know who painted it, the title, or a website I could look at, that would be great.
Decoration Help?? I have about six months left before the big day. I know to some that may seem like a while but we are trying to be smart on cash and buy our decorations a little bit at a time. There are so many things I can do I'm stumped. The wedding is in January so it's a winter wedding. Our flowers are red roses, white calla lilies and white stephanotis. My invitations and grooms cake are a tuxedo and wedding dress and I thought about doing those for the favors and toss and get away too. To make things glitter I thought about using snowflakes but I think that's a little too over the top with different decorations so I'm thinking lots and lots of rhinestones anywhere I can put them. Oh and a lot of christmas lights for low lighting to set the mood. Any more ideas? Advice on what I have? I'll take anything really.
which of these bouquets do you like best? Which of these bouquets do you like best for my winter wedding? My colors are silver, white, and cobalt and I'm incorporating feathers into a lot of decorations. http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l236/TonyaAnnMiller/_mg_2959.jpg http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l236/TonyaAnnMiller/2348_12.jpg
I am having a masquerade wedding. Any creative ideas?? It's in the middle of the winter in 'Cinderella's make believe ballroom'. I am wearing a burgundy gown. I want all guests in black with masks? Should I ask them to bring their own masks? Should I make them all? What decorations can I use??
all brides or engaged couples or anyone that has been married...? What time of year did you have your wedding? I was thinking about April (spring) or October (fall) for my wedding but now I have started thinking about maybe Mid November. I love Christmas and I think all of the lights and Christmas decorations would be beautiful. Do you think it is bad to do it in November with all of the holiday stuff going on? also, what about January? Could you still have a Christmas-sy theme then? I live in Georgia. I just can't decide whether to have a nice outdoor wedding in the spring or fall, or to have a "white" christmas wedding in the winter.....
Snowflake theme? I am planning a wedding with a snowflake theme in either Jan or Feb (not a christmas theme) and i seem to be having troble with finding a place to hold the Ceremony because we cant have it in a church because my fiancee is a witness. Help I live in a small town where there is tons of snow in the winter so we cant have it outside, unless we want to freeze our bottoms off. We are going to have the reception at a nice hotel. anybody with ideas please help Oh yeah and if you have any other ideas such as center pieces, decorations, flowers, etc that would help too.
Your opinions on these ideas for the ceremony? The wedding will be on Christmas Eve in this beautiful cathedral, but I was hoping to get some more input on a few of these ideas. The colors are a kind of powder blue and silver (for more of a winter theme) , but my fiance was also hoping for an evening wedding. Since these colors aren't exactly big and bold... do you think they will get washed out? I suppose it wouldn't be the worst thing that could happen... but if people won't be able to tell the difference between a silver ribbon and a blue one... then I'll stop worrying so much about the decorations. Also, my bridesmaid and I came up with this idea. You know how during the Christmas eve services, a lot of larger churches have the candlelight service? What is your opinion on doing something more like this? I think it would look gorgeous, and would tie in really nicely, because the centerpieces for the tables at the reception are candelabras... but I definetly don't want my wedding to look like a funeral. What about replacing the bridesmaids and brides flowers with a candle... or combining candles and flowers? I mean... its just a thought in progress, but I'd love to hear some opinions? Have you seen any pictures like these? Or been to a wedding that incorporated those ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated. =] Thanks. Okay... just because you have a disgruntled family life doesn't mean my friends and family do. It's a destination wedding, we invited whole families, and never asked anybody to pay for their own trip or accommodation - so actually people are pretty excited. Not to mention we're all young and don't exactly have loads of kids. Anyways... thanks for your opinion on something that I totally wasn't asking? I forgot to mention that - YES the venue allows the lit candelabras and YES the we already asked, and the cathedral will allow them as well. But I didn't think of what would happen if they blew out... good point. Thank you =]
