Wedding - Church Decorations on a Budget? I need some tips on how to easily and inexpensively decorate the church for my wedding. I dont have much time or money. My wedding colors are Navy Blue and White. (There will already be trees with twinkle lights up on the stage)
wedding decorations for a church? we had to move our wedding to a church, its in the fall and i have all the fall theme stuff, the church is very small and plain. the altar is has 2 steps and then an open platform and then a small walll and then the choir seats behind that, would it be ok to have an archway or is something else i could use to decorate that more( would pillars be ok?) also the banquet hall, i have tons of leaves and flowers what about doing 2-3 things of hay with pumpkins, and centerpieces, any pictures would be great, thanks:)
Decorations for Church pews in Pink & Brown Wedding? I am so lost in what to do for the pews. We have a traditional wedding with a little of a country touch. Please send me pics or ideas...We cant spend too much money so nothing real extravagent. Something real simple....Thanks! :)
unique creative wedding decorations? what are creative wedding decorations that you could do yourself? it's going to be a june wedding in a church. the colors are white and burgundy. we don't have a very big budget to work with which is getting my best friend down a little bit (to the point of canceling.. she already eloped before her husband went to army training).. she's in tears when she considers not having it, so i decided i'd do everything i could to make her a beautiful wedding. any ideas?
Church Pew Decorations - Ideas on how many needed please? I am planning to have flowers on the end of the pews in my church for my wedding, but I'm not sure how many I would need. There are 16 pews on each side of the aisle and I thought about 4 on each side - spaced out at every 4th pew. How many did you have for your wedding or how many would you suggest? Thanks for yor time.
Wedding decorations... just want some opinions here!? If you have read any of my other questions, here's a little update: We finally figured out a way to pay for the wedding. * sigh of relief* So here's my question- Our wedding date is October 18th. Since its fall wedding, I figured fall would be my theme, sort of. I was thinking for decorations in the church I would do some pretty leaves with small pumpkins, like on the steps near the altar. and I would do a copycat of that for the tables at the reception except I would use fake leaves there, since I want to have candles- gold colored ones, if I can find them, and all that placed on a round mirror. Will that be really hard do you think? ( finding gold colored candles, I mean.) Also, what do you think of my decoration ideas? Oh, and would it still be okay to have the pink and white roses I have always wanted in my bouquet? ooo should I do red and yellow roses instead? agh I am having too much fun with all this ha ha. Also, I want to mention, for some reason that even I don't know, I lovvvee pumpkins! :) My fiancee is fine with the idea, I just wanted to see what others think . If all goes right, the bridesmaid's dresses are going to be a red wine color, I think.
Wedding gown and church deco question.......? I am having a Christmas-themed wedding, and I intend to do a silver and navy blue theme for the church decorations. My gown is a simple white A-line one, and I want to have a maroon ribbon around my waist, which looks something like this (but not this exact gown): http://www.davidsbridal.com/bridal_gowns_detail.jsp?stid=3202&prodgroup=10 My fiance thinks that I should use a silvery-grey colour ribbon, but I do not want to blend in with my church deco. What do you think? Does the maroon ribbon look awful with my theme?
What is the procedures for preparing a church wedding? (S'pore)? Our church wedding tentative date is March 2008. What should we start preparing first? Currently, nothing is done yet. Our budget is about $10,000 for the below-mentioned plannings. That's all we have. I'm a buddhist and he is a catholic, so from what I know, i have to convert. How long will it take? And we have to take pre-marriage course, right? Only immediate families and close friends will be invited for a simple wedding lunch or dinner. We need to renovate his whole room as I will be moving in to stay with my future mother-in-law and his brother. Need to get wedding rings as well as the gown and suit. And I really want to take studio photos as a memory. Misc - Decorations for the church? It's seems like I know what to do but I don't.
wedding decorations? we are trying to find catalogs on wedding decoration for the ceremony in a church or outdoors
Looking For Las Vegas Wedding Decoration Rentals? I attended a wedding reception awhile back at a church. The decorations were beautiful. They were rod iron with hearts with white fabric and lighting behind them. They had special lighting that hung from the basketball hoops and everything. She said she used a company out of Las Vegas that usually does LDS wedding receptions... but she couldn't remember the name of the company. Please help I need the name of the company ASAP!
Church Decorations??? The church where we're having our wedding doesn't have pews. It has straight backed chairs that are attached together in rows and don't have arm rests. They're very neutral and not at all unsightly. However, since there isn't much to attach bows or flowers to, what can we do to decorate the aisle? My dress has a fairly wide/long train, so anything on the ground might get knocked over. If anyone has any ideas, especially pictures, I would really appreciate it. I prefer flower decorations over tulle or ribbon, so if anyone can think of creative ways to attach flowers to the chairs or something that would be great! Thanks!
HELP! What are some nice, elegant but cheap decoration ideas for a small church wedding in October? We're paying for our own wedding and things are swiftly adding up. I want things to look as elegant as possible, but like some people out there, my parents aren't in a position to help out very much. My Mom is buying my dress though, so that's a big help itself. ANY suggestions are greatly appreciated!!!! I'm beginning to let the scare of no money ruin things, and after all that is not what the day is all about. I know if I just had some ideas I would feel better. for those who were wondering, I'm in Louisiana. These ideas are so helpful!!!! I really appreciate it!
Ideas on Church decorations???? help? Hi everyone My two best friends of 10 years or more can not be my bridesmaids at my wedding for particular private reasons (health issues) One is happy to do a reading and the other is very creative and has a degree in an Art related course...so I have asked her to handmake my decorations which she was delighted and it will cost less as we are all students reception is no problem however in our Church there are no pews, just movable chairs (It basically a hall used as a church) What decorations could be made to make my little church look dreamy? I love pretty things like bows and pearls but we cant do pew decorations, I'm really stuck :( My friend has suggested candles in laterns, anym more ideas (that possibly can be hand made or cheap things that my friend can glam up) That martha site was very good its given me extra ideas on the reception and colour choices I love the idea of the isle runner and laterns on the ground up the isle as our church is quite dark inside
Would you recommend a traditional church wedding or eloping? I'm 22 and have been with my fiance for close to six years. We got engaged this past fall and are planning an August 8th, 2009 wedding. So, I'm really thinking I just want to go on our honeymoon and get married then... or possibly getting married at the courthouse, or in a church with just a few people, then going on our honeymoon. I know that my fiance and I plan to take a nice honeymoon. We've never been out of the country and definitely think that a Caribbean all-inclusive resort is the way to go. This being so, our honeymoon is going to cost around $5,000. I've been planning the wedding for around a month and all the probable expenses are just crazy. $12 to rent ONE tablecloth? Shoes, dresses, flowers, decorations... and HOW much to feed all those people? We live in a small town and we would likely end up with around 250 guests, 6 bridesmaids, 6 groomsmen, one flower girl, and one ring bearer. CONTINUED... It just seems like big weddings are more for the guests. Yes, I'd love the pictures and the memories. At the same time though, the memory of my fiance and I on a sandy beach exchanging vows (alone, no family or friends) is very nice as well. And we wouldn't have the debt or the stress. I just think we should possibly just try to focus our wedding money on our future home... but, at the same time, I don't want to elope and then have regrets. What do you guys think?
I need a good website with some wedding ideas? My best friend is getting married in September and has procrastinated on everything. I am now in charge of helping plan, by default, since I seem to be the only one worried about the time crunch. It is going to be a church wedding with an outdoor reception. Very informal. I need a website with some good ideas on favors, decorations, etc. Any suggestions?
Is it tacky to use artificial flowers for wedding decoration? I have a calla lily themed wedding. I found these beautiful silk calla lilies bushes that are going to be on a stand with ivy leaves hanging off the bottoms to decorate the church. The arrangements look beautiful and real....not cheap at all. They are going to be on a stand lining both sides of the aisle....they really look beautiful I got some from save-on-crafts.com and afloral.com
Does anyone have any ideas for very inexpensive wedding ceremony decorations? We are planning 1 ceremony at a full service chapel, reason being... I didn't want to worry about the details! Well, my fiance is from Central America & wants to have a "Blessing" ceremony at his church. I need to decorate a large room that has fold up chairs in it, a small stage & that's it. I don't want to spend alot since I've already spent alot on the other ceremony. In the room we'll be eating in, I will just have white tableclothes in the tables w/candles on each table & silk rose petals. It's basic, simple and pretty & cheap. But, the ceremony, I have no idea what to do that's inexpensive. Please send any good ideas! Thanks in advance. The blessing is in a church, but it's a new church that's just starting out. They don't have benches, just fold up chairs. They only have a few potted plants sitting around. We are having for sentimental reasons but are expected to have some sort of decorations. It will be a summer wedding.
Any wedding sites with pictures of decorated churches? Due to some last minute changes, I am now doing most of the decorating for my own wedding and on an extremelly tight budget (with only a few days to go). Does anyone have any sites, pics, or ideas of how I can decorate the church? It's very small. And any ideas for the reception centerpieces and decorations? Thanks in advance!!
I am planning my wedding at the moment and i am looking for some help? I am looking for inexpensive decorations as i have a very tight budget although i still want it to look the part. Any suggestions on how to have an inexpensive wedding? My fiance and I are getting married June 22, 2007. But, we are poor college kids. I would still like to have a beautiful wedding. We live in a small town, so I am not worried about paying for the church or pastor. But, decorations and the reception are going to be expensive. What can I use to decorate/ eat that is nice, but inexpensive? My cousin just had an average wedding and it was over $10,000! I am looking to spend about $2,000 for all of it. Any ideas would be great. Thanks!

How do you deal with flowers for a Destination Wedding? Hello. I am getting married in Florida in January ( I live in MN) and I am wondering how one deals with flowers for a destination wedding. I'm certainly not going to buy my bouquet here and pack it in my suitcase and bring it with!! Are there ways of ordering them over the phone or something and picking them up at your destination? Also, what other flowers do you need besides the one that the bride holds? I am so clueless when it comes to weddings!!! I dont really care about decorations around the church, its going to be a short ceremony with about 8 ppl present so I dont need lavish decorations to impress anyone. Im just wondering what other flowers I will need for ppl to wear/carry?
What is the grooms mothers responsibilities in a very small wedding? My son has decided to get married and is only giving me a month to prepare. It is informal, just vows exchanged in a very small church with immediate family, around 25 people combined. This is my first time, my only son. We haven't any money to spend so the budget is small. I was told I am to supply the food for the wedding rehearsal and the reception. Also clean-up. Is there anything else? I don't want to look foolish, I haven't met her parents and won't until the day of the wedding, they live out of town. Do I also supply the wedding cake? I understand her parents are more broke than I am, what are their responsibilities? The kids ( they are 21) already have a dress, a suit and rings. Do I also supply the decorations for the reception? Oh, dear. I know I just can't afford this! Please help!
Candles for pew decorations for my wedding? I am getting married in an extremely fancy catholic church and I'm not wanting to go all out on flowers because it will be too much...I was thinking about doing candles down each side of the isle instead of pew bows or flowers on each pew. The church is huge so I was thinking about doing something only at every other pew to save a little bit of money. I've seen some kind of stand that holds like a glass "globe" maybe that holds a candle...I can't think of the name of them. Was wanting to know if any of you know what I'm talking about and what's the proper name for them and if any of you have seen them or even used them and what you think of them? Or any other ideas on how to use candles for pew decorations? Any advice is greatly appreciated!! yes it is allowed at the church i asked the priest last night
My wedding and my friend's are just one month and one week apart!? I'm getting married by the end of May and one of my friends in July. We will use the same church and the same decorators. Even the people we have invited are largely the same. Receptions will be held at different salons, though. The point is: comparations between the 2 weddings will be inevitable. Since I go first, I think I have the upper hand in some aspects. But I'm still trying to figure out how to make MY wedding memorable. I'm not talking about competition, because I believe every wedding has its own charm. But I do want my wedding to stand out. Do you guys have any ideas of what can I do to have a very unique wedding? I'm talking about ideas for the ceremony, the reception, even decorations! I've found some neat ideas on the Internet that I'm planning to use, but I could use some more to choose from. Every advice will be greatly appreciated.
What did your big city (NYC, Philly, Chicago, Atlanta, L.A.) wedding cost? I live in Philadelphia and am planning my wedding. It's going to be very expensive, but I know that I could have went even higher. IMO, I'm doing a middle of the road wedding for my area. I'm having about 150-175 guests. What was your TOTAL wedding cost (expect for engagement ring and honeymoon since really they are before the event and after)...reception costs, photographer, videographer, flowers, attendant gifts, limo, decorations, DJ, wedding rings, attire, church costs, etc. What bothers me is that I'm reading on yahoo answers that some people spend only 10K (or less!) on their weddings! I don't think that would be possible where I live, even if I had the wedding at the most inexpensive catering hall. Is this just because these people might live in an area that isn't as expensive? I'm just wondering what other people who live in major cities are paying...how many guests are you having, etc?
Church decoration? Hi, I need some ideas for the decoration of my wedding in september. I would like some thing simple but cute. And what kind flowers is cheaper for this season? Thank you so much.. I am getting crazy with this....

I would like to have my wedding in my motherinlaws yard at the ranch but when we asked her she said yes but she wants us to look at a small church some other family members got married at so I need ideas for both types of a wedding. thanks for everyones help
European Garden Theme Wedding?? Need some advice? We finally decided on a theme for our wedding. My fiance is wearing a kilt, so we wanted something Scottish or European to fit with the kilt. We finally settled on a European or British Garden theme and here's what I have so far: Colors (to match kilt): Navy blue and champagne with light blue and ivory accents Flowers: Hydrangeas, ivory roses, peonies, rannunculas (sp?) and ivy Favors: Plantable blue paper hearts that double as escort cards - they grow wildflowers when you plant the paper in the ground. Bridesmaids: Tea length satin bubble dresses in navy blue with champagne sashes Groomsmen: Black tuxes with navy blue or champagne vests (haven't decided yet) I'm looking for more ways to tie in the theme with the decor for the reception and the ceremony. We'll probably do bunches of flowers tied to the ends of the chairs for church decorations, but does anyone have anymore suggestions? Unique ideas? Thanks!
A no-flower wedding? My future sister-in-law has asked me to help her with her snow-flake themed winter wedding. The catch is - she doesn't like flowers. She feels they belong in their natural state and not cut and brought inside. Any creative ways to add very simple and elegant touches without flowers. What about bouquets and boutonnières, center pieces, church decorations, etc. Links to pictures will be especially helpful!! --- Please don't get me wrong - I do wish to honor her wishes and don't judge them. I'm just blank on ideas to help her (w/o going the obvious silk route - which I personally am not a fan of, but she may be okay with).
Cheap *online* beach wedding...HELP!? So here is my deal, My fiance and I are living overseas on this tiny island, and we just found out a week ago our families are going to be able to make it to our wedding (which we are having on island... we originally thought it would be nice to have it be just our friends out here) long story short, we are trying to throw something simple/classic/nice but most importantly CHEAP (their plan tickets are already $1700 each...and we are planing on have another wedding back in the states in a year) So needless to say, shopping on this island for a simple white dress (that doesn't make me look like a hooker) is pretty difficult. Does anyone know any good websites to find such a dress? It's going to be a church wedding with the reception on the beach, and I'm only planning on buying one dress for the wedding out here... Also does anyone know of a website i could buy the decorations at? Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated! thanks!!
What's your dream wedding? My dream wedding is a small, church wedding with close friends and families. It would probably be in April haven't decided. Anyways the colors are red and black, the maid of honor's dresses red with black trimming, the guys black tux with red vest/tie, and I'll have on white. For decorations I would like red rose petals and candles lit with dim lighting. I want the wedding to be around 8 or 9:00 when it's just about to get dark. Then after the wedding we will have the reception which will be about 11:00 so whoever doesn't party that late don't come. At 12:00 while the party continues thebride and groom leaves for the honeymoon. Anyways that just me dream wedding b/c I'm a very romantic person. Any ideas please feel free. Ennie, whatever
Could someone offer advice for planning a nice fall wedding with limited budget? I am getting married in October 2008. I have a limited budget and I am trying to think of great ideas for decorations, food, well everything. I have selected a place, we have a minister, and my colors are going to be burnt orange, golden yellow, and burgundry. What should the wedding party wear? How should I pick a flower girl and ring bearer from a family with lots of young kids? I have 4 girls and he only has 3 guys can we make that work? I have family members already feeling left out and I don't know why because I have let everyone know I will except any help I can get. I don't know what to do? I want a church wedding but I am about to throw in the towel and just go the the JP. Could someone please give me some wedding ideas and advice? I am trying really hard to not stress out but it's really taken a toll. Thanks in advance for the help!
Wanting a renewal of vows wedding with a tight budget. Has anyone had one? Me and my husband will be celebrating 10 years of marriage next year and want to renew our wedding vows in a wedding ceremony in a church that we never had before. We are on a very tight budget and can only spend like $2500 on this wedding. I've gotten help on the dress and tuxes and other things, but I'm worried about decorations and accessories. Has anyone out these had a wedding on this budget and it was beautiful just like if u had thousands of dollars to spend on it? Please help me!
Church vs. Reception Hall? Is it cheaper to have a wedding in a church or reception hall? If its in a church, I know you have to pay extra for the church rental, limo time, decorations. But if you have it at the reception hall you have to pay for the officiant, additional time for the hall, etc. Please give me your opinions! Thank you so much I already have a place chosen for the reception. Just need to know if its cheaper to have the wedding at the reception hall or at a church
What do you do with all your decorations? after the wedding is over? I planned on jus leaving alot my stuff like the aisle runner and pew bows and stuff for the church incase someone had a wedding and they didn't have the money to buy some of the things. But today a co worker told me that churches don't keep stuff like that. So am I just supposed to trash it all? Thats alot of money to just throw away!

How could I budget myself when planning a wedding? It would be for about 500 guests, the food is already taken care of. But I am concerned about invitations, the hall costs, the church fees, my dress, the tuxedos, FLOWERS, photography, the cake, security, the DECORATIONS...I love ideas/suggestions for decorations as well. Cheap but classy. Please provide links or business names. It won't be until March of 2009, but planning between work and school is the reason I'm looking so soon. PLEASE HELP!! Much appreciated! :)
How much will my wedding cost? Im trying to keep spending low on my upcoming wedding. I have the pastor, church and reception site already, about how much should I expect for the rest (catering, decorations, dress/tux, food, etc.)?
Will Easter lilies last 2 weeks? My friend is getting married 2 weeks after Easter, and would like to use leftover potted Easter lilies from the church for decorations/centerpieces. If you have experience with these plants, do you think they'll last the 2 weeks after Easter and still have blooms on them for the wedding? I know they last longer when the pollen things are removed, and any other tips on helping them last that long would also be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much!
budget wedding reception decoration tips? Hi!! My friend is doing a wedding reception for his sister and her husband. He asked me for help about decorating the place. I gave him a few ideas but we still would like more ideas though. So far, we decided on food, music, and making our own centerpieces for the tables (round). But the hall is dark with no windows (it's in a church) and we want to decorate it like lighting, tulle, balloons, and maybe flowers (but prob not b/c of budget). We were wondering if anyone of u guys have some ideas abt how to decorate the room though since the color of wall is just this: http://www.tri-valley.k12.il.us/sjones/plywood.jpg We can't go beyond the limit of like $1000 and would like to cut down expenses whenever we can. And plz keep in mind, that we are the only ones doing the decoration not some wedding planners, etc. So guys, do you have any ideas about how to decorate this? Any other ideas/tips would help too ^_^ PS: we were thinking abt having red and either white/tan color for tables

Wedding Guest Survey - How important is all the 'Stuff'? My wedding is in 12 days - I went the non-traditional route - no church, evening wedding, cocktails and hors d'ouvres, personalized music and vows. All I want is for my guests to have fun and for the wedding to be a reflection of my fiance and myself. The question is - how important is all the 'stuff' we brides spend $ on for our weddings? Is it necessary to break the bank in order to have a great day? I definitely did not. In the end, will the guests remember the exact details of the centrepieces, the cake, the decorations and the bouquets? Would fabric tied around chairs really matter? With the shows on TV and the magazines dedicated to weddings, it seems normal to spend crazy amounts of $ on the little stuff. I want to hear from brides, grooms and wedding guests - how important is the 'stuff' to you? If the food, music, and company is good - do people need to fret about the rest? I want to know if I'm the only one who feels this way. I should mention - The decor at our wedding will be nice, there will be flowers and cake, etc...I've just cut a lot of corners (buttercream instead of fondant, simple centrepieces instead of tons of flowers, I made my invites...) By 'stuff' I mean $400 tiaras, personalized napkins, $15000 buffets... imported orchids...
Who is the Bride, me or him ? Who makes most decisons in wedding plans? Problem: The groom wants to make all the decisons in the wedding plans. First, we are planning on getting married at his church, we are planning on using his extended family catering business to do the food, we already got his cousin doing the invitations, he already inviting more guest than me (120 of my guest, and 250 of his guest), he also has more people in the wedding party than me, he also wanted a Junanoo to present us to the reception, we have his aunt to be the MC during the reception. So I decided to hire a wedding planner to help me with the rest, but the groom thinks I am wasting money and that wedding planners rip people off. So now, he wants his other cousins to do the decorations for cememony and reception, get the limos, and etc. Basically everything. So, I told him that I really want my family to be involved in this wedding planning. He tells me that I am dissing his family. So, my question is who is the bride and who makes the most decisions in wedding plans?
New Orleans Wedding!? I'm getting married in New Orleans in October, and have been brainstorming about different ways to make it special. I'd love opinions on wedding colors, decorations, favors, invitations, little touches to the ceremony and reception, etc. etc. We are getting married in a gorgeous old Catholic church and having the reception at a plantation (they take care of food too.) So I have the major issues worked out, but I know it's the details that really make a difference....I'd love to incorporate customs from the local culture, etc. Any and all opinions most welcome! Thanks! I don't know why you would assume that New Orleans doesn't mean something to me just because I don't live there, that's really rude and judgemental. My family is from there originally, and has done extensive volunteer work since Katrina. Plus, my religion is important to me, and they have some of the oldest Catholic churches in the country. I was simply asking for ideas---not your opinion on whether or not I have the 'right' to have my wedding there----get a life!
Pew decorations (pictured)...Do you like them? I am wanting to make as much as I can for my wedding and I was just messing around last night and made this. Do you think that it would be a pretty pew decoration? My wedding is going to be pretty formal and my colors are white and black. The carpet in the church is red (also picture) but I will have a white aisle runner going down the middle. Do you think that the green in the pew decorations make it look to much like Christmas? The aisle: http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb200/anna_sfa/Church010.jpg The decorations: http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb200/anna_sfa/pewbows001.jpg http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb200/anna_sfa/pewbows002.jpg The pictures of the pew decorations make them look really shiney...but they are not that glossy in person. What would you add or take away for the decorations to make them better? By the way....my wedding is in a year. June 14, 2008
What color wedding shoes? I am considering wearing a red shoes to my wedding. My dress i full white with small red decorations and my jewelry is red. My husband will be in a white suite with a red inside vest. The theme of the wedding is red & white. My wedding will not be in a church, I am a liberal person. What do you think about the red shoes base on what I said?
Wedding planning? How much did you spend? How much did it cost you to get married and have a nice wedding? We already have a church and reception hall. How much was cake, decorations, flowers, food and all the other things, I am probably leaving out. Does anyone have any good sites that I can check out?
New wedding info..? Ok, so we are still getting married in April 2008. With the dress I fell in love with, as well as the bridesmaids, I know want a black and white wedding with royal/cobalt blue accents. Need more ideas for a country wedding with sunflowers...? Our wedding is going to have a country (not cowboy) theme with lots of sunflowers. We are going to put sunflowers in mason jars, use baby food jars for votive size candles, serve old fashioned lemonade from metal washtubs and have a cookout instead of a church reception, use lots of raffia where ribbon would usually be and use yellow rose petals are added decoration. We thought of having antique family photos here and there. Any other ideas? We are only have a few people at our wedding and we are trying to spend very little while still making it nice.

Any Ideas for a short notice wedding? So my friend called me the other day to let me know she is getting married on the 18th! I am going to be the Maid of Honor. So, we have three weeks to plan a wedding. We have the church and the Pastor. If anyone has any great cheap ideas about receptions, decorations, anything that I could do to make this a great experience for her I would love to hear it! We are on a limited budget but still want it to be a special day for her.
