What are the BEST BOOKS, MAGAZINES and WEBSITES that would show me WEDDING and RECEPTION DECORATIONS/ IDEAS? I already know about theknot.com and weddingchannel.com (searched them over again and again -- The Knot has some great stuff with Real Weddings that has helped me out) and I have been looking at Brides, Elegant Brides, Modern Bride, etc. They all seem to focus more on the dresses and rings and not on decorations or reception ideas. We are having an outdoor summertime evening wedding next year and we want it to be in between formal and informal. I was thinking of a country (but not gingham check tablecloths and sunflowers) and sunset theme (idea from a YahooAnswers buddy...Thanks Miss D!!). Do you know of any books, magazines, websites that would for sure have ideas for what I am talking about or anything you think might have some ideas? If so, I would greatly appreciate any help! What are some unique wedding decorations for a reception???? My fiance and I are getting married July 2008 and we have most of the planning organized.. My aunt is a wedding coordinator with her own business.. but we are just looking for one kind of decorative thing to stand out... I am planning a reception for my parents 30th wedding anniversary, where can I find decorations for it? I have searched and searched for places to purchase 30th wedding anniversay decorations, but I can only find things available in the UK. I do not want to use anything for birthdays because there's really no way to change them into looking more anniversary-like. I am planning a January wedding any reception decoration ideas? This is a second wedding for both of us. We are a laid-back couple that will be having a traditional small wedding with family then a bigger reception with family and friends. We are from Indiana if that helps. Wedding Reception Decoration? I am having my wedding reception in our backyard. It will be really pretty in the spring when all the flowers are blooming etc. I have one problem and wanted to see if anyone had any ideas. I am having about 50-60 guest and will rent white tables and chairs and place them on my grass area. The problem is half of our backyard is rock, we live in the desert in CA and this is common. Help give me reasons why Betta Fish would be impractical as table decorations at a Wedding Reception!? I'm helping to plan my daughter's wedding and her fiance, who is a marine biologist, would love to have blue-green bettas in bowls on each table as part of the decorations. However, we live in a small town, so I would have to have them shipped in, and then find homes for them, because my daugher and new husband live 3,000 miles away and couldn't take them, and I just don't have the time to take care of them - we're talking probably about 10 bettas! Any ideas, I told him I'd try to get just about anything they want for their special day (since most of the family/friends are here and they are having to travel and allow us to plan this long distance!). So if you know lots about wedding please look for my other ones that I will post right after this one. So first thing is I am trying to find a list of ceremony and reception decorations that I need. I have no clue what all I need! I think the constant planning is draining my brain! The ceremony and reception will be held in a two story hall. We have choosen to do our own separate catering so all that is provided is chairs and tables. No linens or decorations aside from the pretty lighting they do. We are having our wedding reception on Sept. 8th outside under a pavillion at a big park. We've decided it will be casual and kinda like an end of summer get together in celebration of our marriage. Am I responsible for the rental linens damaged by the restaurant after my wedding reception? My wedding reception was on the past Satureday at a local chinese restaurant. This restaurant is very famous in this town and it was featured on so many local magazines (including wedding ones). We chose it because the decoration and food is good. And since they claim they did many many weddings before, we thought we're in good hands. I didn't like their table cloth so I rented some from a rental company, I had white linens at the reception table and red linens on the dinning tables. After the reception, me and my hubby hurried to the after party and my mother and inlaws cleaned up the decorations. On monday, I received an email from the rental company charging me $330 for 4 damaged linens, I have talked with them and found out that when they went to pick up the linen, the restaurant already packed all the linens in a bag, and told them they could only count the linens out side the restaurant. When they counted the linens in the parking lot outside the restaurant, they found that the left over food, drink, trash are literally wraped in side the linens, and the owner described it as beyond disgusting. The owner told me the linens aren't meant to be treated the way the restaurant treated them, and when she called the restaurant management she was told that those trash are the client's so they don't want to clean it up and have it on their carpet. I don't think I am responsible for the damage. Those white linens at reception table were the one's that're damaged. We use the reception table for half an hour and there were nothing on it besides guest book and pen! besides, isn't it the restaurant's job for cleaning up the left over food, drink, and trash? I didn't know that we are expected to clean up the tables, what next they'll ask me to do, wash the dishes?

What are some good ideas for throwing an Alaska themed wedding reception? This party will be a backyard bash for a sendoff for our Alaskan honeymoon in Virigina. I'm already serving Salmon for dinner and maybe some crab, and chocolate "moose" for dessert (food seems to be my speciality here). We will have a fire pit out back. What type of fabric should I use in a low ceiling room for a wedding reception? I am getting married next year and am trying to get decorations around the holidays. Since I am using red, black, and white for my colors, I was hoping to find fabric and other accessories on sale after Christmas and Valentine's Day. However, I do not know what type of fabric to buy. I need a fabric to drape from the center of the ceiling to cover some ugly lights and then to drape the walls, which have scuff marks and other stains.
