Make my own beach wedding favors? I want to do my own wedding favors. The theme is a beach wedding, with lots of sandcastles and shells. I don't want to do anything involving sand in a bottle because I did message in a bottle wedding favors. I was thinking of knitting my own home made wedding coasters, but I think that would take forever. It is a small wedding, only 30-45 guests. What do you all suggest?? Where would I get the cookie cutters in the sandcastle designs???? message in a bottle wedding INVITES**
BEACH WEDDING..Any suggestions for invitations, favors, details etc? We've decided to get married on the beach in Orange Beach Alabama (we live in Alabama) Does/has anyone had a wedding on the beach any helpful hints would be appreciated. Do you know any good reception venue locations? Any little details like the flip flop basket is cute any others? Options to the unity candle and something for loved ones passed? What about food and drinks? Entertainment? Wedding favors? Bridesmaid and Groomsmen favors? ANY OTHER IDEAS??? I want this to be beautiful and romantic just like every other bride but I'm artistic and a very tight penny pincher and I can decorate most anything. We've decided that our color is turquoise blue and I'm thinking I want one more color incorporated any ideas? Basically, any detail any small idea that you have would be moer than appreciated and more than helpful for me! ANY suggestion is very much WELCOMED. Thanks so much guys!! Oh and if it helps we're looking at an early August wedding.
Beach theme wedding favors? I'm thinking of getting mini pails and filling them, but I don't know with what. I don't like the same ol same ol, ie almonds.
What are all of you doing for wedding favors? I need some ideas for inexpensive favors- I was thinking of doing the hershey bar favors with personalized labels, but they really end up expensive after doing them. My theme is a beach-themed wedding, with seashells and sandcastle decorations (like an enchanted sandcastle wedding theme) Yes my wedding in on the beach, but reception is inside the cottage:) Hmmm, gold fish in bowls is extremely different. It is a little "too different" I want something my guests can keep forever as a keepsake:):) Plus what if the goldfish dies before I can give them to the guests??? I did message in a bottle invitations, so I don't want to do anything with sand in a bottle for the favors!!!
Cookie Wedding Favors?? Okay so we found these SUPER cute sand dollar cookies to use as wedding favors for our beach wedding. However, they aren't huge so we are giving people like 4 each and buying them in bulk saves a ton of money. I need to find a way to package them, like a clear sleeve or something that will work to hold the cookies. Any ideas? We are tying the bags with personalized ribbon that matches our wedding colors and adding a charm and the legend with them. Any ideas on how to package them would be great! Thanks :)
What would be some good wedding favors? My friend is planning her traditional wedding in July, but she wants the wedding favors to be really unique... and we live in Kentucky, so the favors can't be beach themed or anything. Any ideas?
Need ideas for Florida, Texas and Minnesota wedding favors!? I'm Minneasotan, he's Texan and the wedding is in Florida! everyone is from out of town and we want them to receive a welcome package with directions, maps, a schedule, a list of local attractions in the area (Palm Beach) and 3 wedding favors that are relative to the 3 states. we're thinking nuts, chocolate, maybe something else small.....not sure what the states are really known for....help? unfortunetly, not cheesy, custom for destination weddings.
What should we write on our wedding favors? For our wedding we are having a beach theme so I thougt about giving sand dollars with ribbon on them as my favor. I was just wondering if there should be a thank you message or if it should just say our names and the date. Any help is greatly appreciated!
wedding favors??? What else can you use instead of candy ........What about bubbles at the table? do you think that is silly? It a buffet style very very casual......beach wedding and a reception of about 100... it seems to keep growing.I didn't even think of favors, not I want to do something but not sure what...any other ideas?
who do i give wedding favors to? and, where do i put them...at each plate at the reception?? i am having a beach themed wedding, what are good favors for this...not tacky though. thanks!
Need help writing a "cute" & Unique saying for a beach wedding- see details please? My fiance and I are getting married on the beach in the OBX(north carolina) in June w/ a reception following. Instead of doing a unity candle, since we'll be on the beach, we're doing a "sand ceremony". Basically instead of lighting the candle together you pour sand into a container from 2 seperate containers & it symbolizes your lives being combined. Before the ceremony, each of the 70 family members who will be there will be given a little heart shaped glass bottle filled with sand. Our names & wedding date will be on it. We are asking them to pour the sand into our 1 container which they will find out later symbolizes not only our seperate lives, but our families are being combined as well. After the ceremony they are to fill their bottles with sand from the beach, they now have a unique "wedding favor" to take home with them. We need a short cute saying to attach to the bottle they will be handed that basically tells them the directions- but we want something cute almost poetic. Thanks in advance! (Details on the bottle: Heart shaped, about the size of a small tennis ball w/ a cork top. They are engraved w/ our names & date, we are gluing a sea shell or small starfish to the front of it, and putting green ribbon around the top, which this little note will be attached to the bottle with) Also, please note this is just a cute favor on the side. When we get to the reception site, each person is getting a picture frame, a chocolate sea shell (gorgeous), and we are also paying for their entire vacation the week we are getting married int he Outerbanks. So please, no opinions on what my family would and wouldnt like, just help with the answers! Thanks so much!!! HA. Well, obviously since its on the beach, we're all dressing up but going barefoot. My girls are going to be in sundresses, the guys are in khakis and a button down. We'll put our shoes back on after the ceremony when we head to the reception. It was a good idea, but we really are already doing the sand ceremony this way, bottles are ordered- we're just trying to make it plain and simple. If it comes down to it we'll literally just put, go put the sand int he container up front, keep the bottle with you. ...but id like something better!!

Do I need a permit to have a small beach wedding in ct and where would I go after for "Dinner/Reception"? I am having my small last minute wedding this august and a much larger one next year but we decided yesterday that leaves me a month to plan something. He has only recently agreed to a beach wedding (weather permiting) but where would I go after the ceremony with 30 people? Any recommendations? I do have wedding favors and would prefer to have the ceremony and reception as private as possible but Im at a complete lose here. What do I wear and where do I find it? Do I rent chairs or should people stand? How do I time it correctly without getting washed out at high tide? Do I need to have a florist involved? Does anyone have recommendations on a flower to use? Or do I need a photographer for such a small event? because everyone now has digital cameras.. Is there somewhere on the beach that we can be private without 50k naked beachgoers gawking at us? All in all we are trying to pull this off at $500 plus dinner...ANY advice and recommendations ASAP would be appreciated!!! HELP!!!
Favors for a summer wedding....? Does anyone have any suggestions for wedding favors? I am getting married on waterfront at a lake house next june. I was wanting something unique/different for my wedding favors. Most people that get married on the beach have favors that are themed with the beach. Shoudl I do something "lake" themed? Any help is great!

Camera Wedding Favors? I am addicted almost to photo's and my fiance loves photos too, and so it is important for us to have a lot of photos of everyone who is at our weddding and of course us and doing fun things. We are having an outdoor beach wedding and then a recption indoors. Anyways, my questions is for people of have rcently or previously gotten marred. We are debating whether or not to get table cameras to leave out at the reception. We have heard some peopel say to do so and other people have said NO WAY you jet a ton of junky pictures and then have a buncha film to develop of useless pictures. I have seen some people and realized a little bit of that. So anyone with previous expereinces using the cameras and would they do it again would be great!!!!!!! Or ideas on how to get around using the cameras but still get pictures of our guests would be much appreciated. Thank you! I didn't really mean favors, I meant just to leave on the table. Whoops! Thanks
Suggestions for a beach themed wedding? OK, so I want a beach themed wedding. Here is what I am planning: Married at sunset, reception at night. Outdoors, white christmas lights, white candles lit, and white flowers here and there. I want a bonfire and I want the food to be barbequed on site. Not too formal, but still very nice. I need ideas on a cute guest book, favors, invitations, and cake decoration. And whatever else you can think of! Thanks!
Casual wedding reception favor ideas? (Beach/Tiki theme.)? I am having a casual backyard reception with just some close friends and family. (About 20-25 people, half of them probably under the age of 12.) My colors are raspberry, orange, green, and natural or "tan" color for loosley themed tiki or tropical idea. My invitations had a tan naturally speckled color (like dark recycled paper) for the background, and a heavily textured cream colored linen paper for the foreground with brown Papyrus font, cream colored flowers, and a brown twine tying it together. The cake will be white with pink and orange roses and green vines. The backyard is huge, and we bought a 13' pool for the kids to play in. We will have white paper lanterns, bamboo, barbecue chicken, rice, a variety of salads, maybe some spam musubi, and punch, etc... I REALLY need ideas for favors. (If you mention Jordan Almonds I'll throw up...lol) Something UNQUIE. Something that the whole family can enjoy.
What are good ideas for a wedding at a beach location in the fall? I don't want a beach theme, and am trying to incorporate the fall season, since it's in November. Any ideas on decoration, favors, flowers, etc. I don't want a total beach theme, nor fall colors. I'm thinking pinks and browns, but not chocolate brown. A beach theme in November just doesn't seem to fit, so any ideas? lighting, decor, flowers, favors, other ideas?
Edible Wedding Favors? Does anyone have a good edible wedding favor idea? We are doing come fan things for the beach, because we are having our wedding on the beac and it will be hot, but I wanted to put osmething on the table that cute and edible, but I am not quite sure what! Thanks :) Experiences with ones NOT to use would be good too!
Beach wedding help? I have my heart set on a dream beach wedding in Hallandale Beach, Florida. My fiancé and I just recently graduated from nursing school and are in a tight budget, I found some wedding planners online and are a little out of our budget, can we do this ourselves?, are we allowed to set chairs, just a few maybe only 10-15 people will be attending, we have a friend who is a notary and she can take care of the marriage certificate for us. But my question is, can we make all the arrangements ourselves? I don't think we need a city permit since this is a public beach. I have already chosen beautiful party favors and invitations, but really need to know if it can be done without a licensed person. Suggestions please!! It could also be done in Miami beach or Hollywood Beach Kill-Yr- Thanks so much for your advice, unfortunately they don't rent their eating area, they have events going on throughout the day. That's too bad I really liked the place.
I need Help with ideas for my Beach themed wedding!? I am having a Beach themed wedding, I have lots of ideas so far...But i could always use some more, so if anyone has any ideas as to favors, place cards, centerpieces, hand made items that I can make, or anything at all....it would truly be appreciated. Thanks
Ideas for beach wedding gift basket? (Ideas in general?)? We're having our wedding in Oregon (where I grew and half my family still loves) on the coast. Most of our guest will be traveling from Ohio and may stay for at least the weekend, some for a whole week. We obviously will not be able to entertain them the entire week but will have get togethers and events the weekend of the wedding. Instead of a tin of mints or some favor that will be thrown out anyways I'm having the hotel put gift baskets in all the rooms of our guests. I want to include things like bottels of water, sunscreen and a lst of locations to visit and things to do in the area (with directions and contact info). But I'm at a loss on other things to include as well as what to put everything in. I am on a budget but I dont have too many guests and it will be one basket per couple/family). Any idead would be greatly appriciated. Also any beach wedding ideas or experiances would be lovely. Thanks so much! So many great ideas! Here's list so far: Bottled water Sunscreen Salt water taffy A mix cd of songs my fiance and I like (or are beach appropriate) A list of place to visit and things to do in the area (complete with directions, and contact info) Some info on the tidepools in the area and the creatures that dwell there. (Should be fun for the kids to go out and try and find the animals). An itenerary of wedding activities throughout the weekend and a welcome note from my fiance and family. And some sort of kids package, most likely some cheap sand toys. Me and my fiance spent lost of time at the beach building sandcastles with my little cousins, so this will be cute. Thanks for all the great ideas! Keep them comming!

Anyone want any free wedding advice or to give some to others? If you have your wedding outside or on a beach- please supply sunscreen as favors on in the bathroom for people to use! I went to a beach wedding which was in a restaurant and the whole thing was open and everyone got sunburned badly! Do you have any advice you want to pass on? Married Nov 3, 2007 I knew the wedding was outside and my 15spf was fine for the 15 mins on the beach but I didn't know the reception was outside too.
Help with a saying for my wedding favors? I am getting married during the day on the beach and decided to put candles on my centerpieces (ran out of ideas and budget). I know for a fact that they will not stay lit because of the wind. Instead of people thinking I'm stupid for putting candles on the centerpieces (which I would understand), I thought of putting a saying on the wedding favors that will link to the candles not being lit. For example, "Protect love like you would a candle in the wind." I don't want the saying to sound negative, though. Extra points for a Christian saying :) Thank you so much! The favors don't have to do with candles. They are salt water taffy wrapped in tulle with ribbon.
Wedding Favor Help/Question!!!!!!!? We are having a beach wedding, my thing is. I like/love the idea of favors at the wedding table as a little suprise for your guests when they get to the reception and like a thank you for coming. My problem with them is, I know most of the favors I have found wouldn't be things I would keep if I just want to someone else's wedding and I don't want to spend money on things ppl are throwing out! We have fans that we are giving each person like on their chair kind of for the beach ceremony, ones they can use in case it's warm etc, and we have a couple or things. I am thinking of staying with something edible, to still have the suprise thank you, but then they can actaully enjoy it. I found these www.luluscookies.com and I was thinking of buying them in bulk to fit with our theme and putting them in cellephone bags with riboon & Maybe a beach charm? What do you think? Any better ideas? Thanks!
Need Wording Suggestions and Ideas for my Beach Themed Wedding...? I’m doing a beach themed wedding in April 2008 with about 150 people. We are having the reception and the wedding all in the same banquet hall room. Our colors are Periwinkle, dark purple and white. I’ll be creating a “pirate’s chest” card box, with beads, fake jewels, gold wrapped chocolate coins…and for favors, I’m going to give away little periwinkle bags of 5 gold wrapped chocolate coins. I would like to put a card on the Pirate’s chest table, somehow tactfully explaining that it is a card box…and saying something about the coin favors….something about “treasure” or “fortune” or “bounty”…(NO Booty…LOL) thanking people for joining us in our good fortune at finding each other or something like that…something fun that will go along with the theme. I also need wording for the little tags to attach to the chocolate coin bags, again with the treasure, fortune or something similar. Any suggestions on wording? More suggestions on the beach theme? To clarify, actually no, I'm not going for a pirate theme, like I said, we're doing the beach theme. We're doing fish bowl centerpieces filled with periwinkle gravel, seashells, water and floating candles. The fish bowls will be surrounded by fisherman's netting and more seashells. The wedding cake is "Under the sea and on the beach"...the first two layers will look like they are under water, with sea life and blue icing, the top of the second layer will be covered with crushed raw sugar like sand. We're including our two dogs, so two dog figures dressed up with a bowtie and a veil will be laying on the "beach" and on top of the cake will be two palm trees in the shape of a heart. Periwinkle and white are the main colors...bridesmaids are going to be in "Peri" from david's bridal. The dark purple is only an accent color in the flowers. I wanted a blue color for the beach theme, but I didn't like any of the David's Bridal colors of blue other than Periwinkle.
For all the beach brides:? What wedding favors did you use? Which one of these do you like better? (It's for my Tiffany blue/beach wedding). Thanks! http://www.americanbridal.com/sandshellvotive-dska27003.html http://www.accenttheparty.com/tiffany-blue-wedding-favors Oops, for the 2nd favor, it supposed to be the Tiffany Blue Box Candle Favors.
Would you want this as a wedding favor? I was at a wedding recently and their wedding favors were homemade CD's of their favorite songs. It was a beach themed wedding, so it was full of Beach Boys and other oldies. I enjoyed the CD for a few weeks and thought it was a great idea, but the songs weren't too much of my style so I didn't keep it around. I thought it'd be fun to do the same sort of favor for my wedding. Our theme is more of like a winery...so I was thinking love songs, maybe some of the more italian type of love songs. Would you like this? Or are there any other suggestions of songs we could use?
I need help finding accessories to match my wedding color of Palm Beach Coral.? My bridesmaid dresses are Palm beach coral (from Davids Bridal). I am having a hard time finding anything such as ribbons, bows, etc. to match this color. I only find bright orange. My other color is light yellow, but I want to incorporate more of the coral color. Does anyone know where I can find ribbon or favors that come close to palm beach coral?
Favors before and after the wedding? We are still working out the details but my fiance and I are having a destination wedding in the fall of next year in the Carribean. Since people are going to be flying in, I thought it would be nice to make welcome gift baskets to give them when they arrive with favor-like things in them (beachy candles, flip flops, beach towelscameras, etc.). If I do this I want to get nice things as they are spending a lot of money to come. So, do I have to give favors at the wedding too? We are going to be casual on the beach and it feels very formal to me. What do you guys think?
beach/winter wedding theme? hello everyone, I"m getting married in the beginning of january but i'm stuck on ideas on what i can use. we both like the beach but since its recently christmas and new years i wanted to incorporate the winter theme. plus i know that alot of christmas stuff would be on sale. what can u suggest as favors, theme, and centerpieces. thanks in advance i live in miami florida
Wedding reception favors to put in tulle or organza favor bags.? We are eloping on a beach and having a reception (really more of a get together to have drinks and eat some awesome food) about a month afterwards. The favors are koozies--the collapsible ones not because they are cheaper but because they are more compact to store in the car. I need something to put inside of the koozies so they will stand up on the tables. I bought these tulle bags at Wal-mart and need some ideas on what to put in them. I thought of getting M&Ms from their Web site but they are $50 for a 5 lb bag for a specific color. I really don't want coated almonds and personalized wrapped chocolate in quantities can be expensive. Do you think getting pastel M&Ms around Easter time (March 23) would be okay if the reception isn't until the end of July (July 26) or is 4 months too long for candy to be sitting? Any other ideas? I am thinking, obviously, of something that is edible and I would be willing to spend a few hours making them to save money. Our reception will be in a air-conditioned social hall in the Midwest, not on the beach.
Favors and Decorations for my wedding? I am having a beach themed reception and our colors are fuschia and a bright orange. I am trying to decide on what to give as favors (preferrably candies or something along those lines), and also how to decorate the reception site. My centerpieces have shells, starfish, sand and candles. Any ideas for me on how to decorate the rest of the hall? I don't want to do too much and have it look tacky...
wedding reception ideas west palm beach????? ok... i am giving myself 6 months to plan a small ish wedding---60 people... i live in west palm beach and am not trying to spend a lot of money hoping to find one place for ceremony and reception... prefer less than 500 for rental of space alone----a place i can bring my own catered/ buffet style food to but still looks nice... not just a reck room with decorations.. pics or links for pics would be nice ALL of these wedding directory sites are burning me out please help. also any good favor ideas centerpiece ideas... i like multi purpose and would hate to spend alot on centerpieces that never get used again rather would like something that they can take as favors or at least i can reuse
I am trying to make a beach in a bottle. Not sure what adhesive to use.? I tried the 3M adhesive spray with no luck. I want the sand on an angle and to stay there as we are putting shells on the top. Any thoughts? This is our wedding favors so I want this to work really good. Thanks! I guess I should add that it is going to be in a clear glass bottle. Do you think that the elmers glue would easily be seen on the glass?
Need wording suggestions for Card Box and Favors? I’m doing a beach themed wedding in April 2008 with about 150 people. We are having the reception and the wedding all in the same banquet hall room. Our colors are Periwinkle, white and small dark purple accents. I’ll be creating a “treasure chest” card box, with beads, fake jewels, gold wrapped chocolate coins…and for favors, I’m going to give away little periwinkle bags of 5 gold wrapped chocolate coins with some sort of note attached to each. I would like to put a card on the treasure chest table, somehow tactfully explaining that it is a card box…and saying something about the coin favors….something beach related about “treasure” or “fortune” or “bounty”…(NO Booty…LOL) thanking people for joining us in our good fortune at finding each other or something like that…something fun that will go along with the theme. I also need wording for the little tags to attach to the chocolate coin bags, again with the treasure, fortune or something similar. Any suggestions on wording?
Im making Gel Candles for my wedding centerpieces, need beach themed embeds? But I cant find any online, Im looking for flip flops, beach balls, rubber ducks, stuff like that. I dont want links for shells or marbles, I already know where I can get those. I'm trying to find either glass or wax ones, I know some places have the mini favors like these that they can scatter on tables or whatever, any help would be appreciated. I've already tried oriental trading, and I went to a.c moore and the dollar store and nothing, a c moore is already transitioning to fall stuff I dont want flat things I want them to be 3-d, and if you had read the question they are not favors it is just for my centerpieces, not for people to take home and "collect dust"
Does anyone know how to make decorative cookies? Doea anyone know a good recipe and instructions on how to make a decorative cookies for wedding shower favors. I was thinking of trying to make them for my sisters shower and do wedding cake, wedding dress, and some beach things as that is her wedding theme. Any instructions and websites are appreciated. I want to make the icing that hardens after decorating it.
Wedding Favor: CD for guests? I was thinking of putting together a CD for a wedding favor for our guests. I am getting married on a cruise and looking for suggestions for beach/cruise songs for the CD.
wedding planning. i'm so lost, read please? It's not for 2 years (May 15, 2010) but I like to have everything planned WAAAY in advance, cuz I tend to have bad luck, and I want to give myself plenty of time to fix anything that goes wrong. Here's what I know so far: -white & red color scheme, with some black -beach wedding = Cape May, New Jersey -my mommom is buying my dress, <$900. The fiancee likes stuff to be off the shoulder. What kind of dress do you wear on the beach? Do you wear flip flops? ugh. it's so confusing!! what if it rains? how does this whole brides maids thing work? are you supposed to have the same number of them as groomsmen? i'm on theknot.com, but i'd rather talk to a person about this stuff, not research. plus, i can't post a question on there for some reason. any cute ideas for favors or center peices or whatever???? i want to incorporate my now 6 month old son and my now 4 year old nephew. any ideas?? and what if i don't have a flower girl? there's all boys everywhere. i don't have any disabled relatives. and i don't really have the money for a wedding planner. i think red and white would be pretty on the beach!!! =[ and i just think the black will mostly be at the reception, not the actual wedding. too much red would be... welll.... bad so i'm throwing in another color. and they happen to be my faves. SHELLIE - I LOVE THE DRESS!!!!!!!!!! for shizzle - good point. haha. i'm really excited though - i just wanna get some basics done =]
What do you think of these as favors? Since we are getting married on the beach and having a small ceremony in NJ, I thought about doing a beach theme backyard bbq after the ceremony. It will be super casual! I wanted to give everyone something for coming, and although I really don't like wedding favors, I thought I have to give something. So here is my idea: The Jersey shore has tons of salt water taffy stores and fudge stores. I want to get the little mini sand pails and put salt water taffys in each and some fudge. I will have a mix of fudges and sugar free salt water taffy's for those who must have sugar free. How dumb is this for those of you who feel the same way as I do about wedding favors? At least it is something edible right? Hey Chay, Don't worry I'm not fond of the state in which I reside either! I'm stuck here! Hey guys do me a favor, if you don't like the idea tell me why. It will help! Thanks Earl, I love your idea...I have already decided to be silly and have a mermaid and pirate as flower girl and ring baerer...so the burried treasure is good. It might save me a lil $$ since someone did point out the fudge can be pricey. Maybe I can just buy some to have as dessert...and use the gold coin ideas with the netting. Mix and match the pails and nets! What do you guys think about that? Thanks to everyone...you had some great ideas for me to also consider! Since I can't choose a best answer (there are too many good ones) I'm sending this to voting! Vote for your own answer!!! Thanks again!
Need quotes (with sources) to fit my beach theme? I’m doing a beach themed wedding in April 2008 with about 150 people. I’ll be creating a “treasure chest” card box, with beads, fake jewels, gold wrapped chocolate coins…and for favors, I’m going to give away little of 5 gold wrapped chocolate coins with some sort of note attached to each. Thanks to a very clever suggestion here on Yahoo Answers, I may include one red foil wrapped heart with the chocolate coins... I need a good quote for the little tags to attach to the chocolate coin bags. I need quotes about love, heart or Marriage combined with “treasure” or “fortune” or “bounty”…"gold"....any of those combined. I already know the biblical quote with fortune and the heart. Thank you all in advance for your help!
Wedding Favors? I need ideas for wedding favors. The wedding is at an aquarium (not to be confused with a beach theme...) and is in fall. Either fall or aquarium stuff is fine with me. Something around $2-3 each. It can be DIY.
Expensive wedding??♥? What to you is an expensive wedding? Description/ favors/place, etc? Just doing this for fun ;]]..... I read about this one couple, who did a trip to hawaii with the brides parents and grooms parents. First class. They had tables set up on the beach with like seashells, and i forgot what the fathers got but the mothers got some necklace made out of seaglass. And the preist, and everyone was in all white. She was barefoot and had some designer gown on with a louis vuttion sapphire & pearl necklace and ring. It was really cool, i thought ;]]..Well i didnt read it but it was on t.v . Lol i was bored and sick from school!! Then to top it off, when they flew back in, they had a family wedding with like 200 people. And she had a new dress and i think some new peice of jewlery. Pretty neat? Well thats mine, how about yours?
how do you politely tell someone that you dont like their idea? My soon to be stepmother in law was in charge of the favors for the wedding, and we had this all discussed in December of what design and stuff to go with. She emails me today with her own new idea...... she wanted to use a wine glass stamp on the favor boxes (my fiance is a recovering alcoholic and i find this to be innappropriate) and we had originally planned on sand dollar stamps because we're having a beach wedding. how do I tell her I dont like her idea....... nicely? I should have added this detail to my question I had asked her today if I could buy a stamp for a sand dollar if she doesnt have one and she just replied ''No dont buy one. Im doing these on Friday night so it's out of the way'' So that doesnt give me much time to figure this out.. I dont know if I should just ask her to bring the stuff here and we can do them ourselves or what.

A Tiffany Blue Wedding? I'm thinking about have a Tiffany Blue Wedding. What do people think of this. Has anyone been to this type of a wedding before. I brought my idea up to a friend. She told me it was a bit childish. I didn't think so. I don't plan on playing up the Tiffany's aspect. I'll have a blue box cake, card box and favors. But nothing else. I'm just using the colors. My reception site also over looks the beach. Therefore, I was thinking about incorporating a beach theme into the centerpieces. What do you think? Ideas. And please don't tell me, it's my day. I know it's my day and I can do as I choice. But, I also want people to see my wedding as a classy affair.
How much do you think this wedding may cost? Well my couzins are both surgeons (man and women lol) and they make a lot of money yearly. They just called my parents and invited them to their wedding and told them all the details. How much do you think this will cost?? They are taking a first class flight out to hawaii to get married on the beach. They are paying for her mom and dads flight out and his mom and dads first class flight out to hawaii. Then spending a day there and having a party blah blah. She is wearing a oscar de la renta gown and jewlery. The second celebration: Then they are having her mom and dad and his mom and dad get picked up in a limo to be driven to the st.patricks cathedral. The whole family is going to this one. Then they bought three suites at the ritz carlton: One for her parents, his parents and them. She has a different gown too . They are having huge cakes and etc. She is giving her mom a tiffany and co necklace for a gift (favor).etc Isnt it a little overboared? i'm 13....not jealous..i'd love to have that Iv'e always wanted to be a surgeon lol she used to read my books when i was little about the medical field lol
To the people that answered my dutch question...? First off, thanks! I will NOT be doing that. However, we are doing a beach wedding (free). What ideas can you give me for doing a reception on the beach. Finger foods sound good to me. But still no centerpieces and favors? DJ, no DJ? Thanks again!!!
Are smaller and more casual weddings really that common? I have been a bridesmaid 8 times and been to over 20 weddings. I grew up in a middle-class neighborhood in the north east and none of my friends were wealthy by any means. Every wedding I have ever been to has been almost identical. 150-300 people, big church, hotel ballroom or golf club reception with your choice of filet mignon or stuffed chicken, DJ or band, fancy flowers, elaborate centerpieces and really nice favors. Every wedding is the exact same!! No surprises. I have never been to a wedding on the beach, catering hall, backyard, outside or somewhere casual. I had no idea weddings like this were that common until I started visiting this site. Is this common? Do others in the northeast share my observation?
does anyone have any suggestions for my wedding? I am getting married on the beach on May 24th the reception will be at my home, I have no idea how to plan this, I need help with decorations, invitations, food, favors. etc. the guest will be dressed in beach attire, the groom and bride will be in a tux, and a gown and how do I find a minister?
Magnets, Magnets, Magnets.....? Hello Everyone, Well, Yesterday I posted a question about my stepsister, who gave out magnets of her husband and herself holding up "Thank You" signs at the wedding instead of sending thank you cards afterwards. The majority of the feedback was the Thank You magnet was a cool idea, but should not be in lieu of a thank you card. Perhaps a cool favor, but not a replacement. I totally agree. So, to go with my beach wedding, I think I'm going to try to take my fiance to the beach, get "Save the Date" signs and "Thank You" signs and have the two of us sit in beach chairs, attach the signs to the back of the beach chairs, and have pictures taken with us on the beach, looking out over the waves. I'll do magnets with Save the Date and later send out the Thank You magnets with the thank you cards, after the wedding. What do you think? If you attended a wedding where someone did a similar thing, what would your impression be?
How do I suggest masquerade wedding attire for guests? Since my betrothed and I will be getting married on Halloween, I want to have a bit of fun, without going overboard. Our reception is going to be held at a haunted hotel beside the beach, and we intend to invite approximately 100 people. The clothes I am most drawn to for us are period ensembles from the middle ages. It occurred to me that having a masquerade could be just the right concept for us. I want to include the guests in the fun, and still make the attire optional. I intend to offer satin black and white domino masks as favors so that if someone forgets his or her mask, or changes his or her mind about participating they have a back up. I also want to allow people to bring their own masquerade masks since I can't afford to give them all fantastic elaborate creations. However, I do not want to have a costume party... no zombies or serial killers etc. I am going for elegance and fun. How can I word the invitation to get the results I am looking for? Or is it all dumb?
Ok need help deciding if this is too much, theme is summer/beach.? Ok I have almost everything planned. The reception hotel provides candleoperas so I am not spending extra money on centerpieces. The colors of the dress are bronze(light brown) and creme, and accent is blue. Cake is criss crosses. Favors: Sugar cookies that look like man. Last name going to be sugarman Also wanted to do place cards that have there names attached to a sand shell. Is that too much?? Oh invitations have a shells shaped like a heart, so theme hearts and shells?? Oh and the wedding on the first day of summer so naming places we like to go in the summer. Guest book, wedding wish bowl. Cutting the paper to look like waves. They have special scissors. So should I do the sugar cookies or the place cards or both??
help with announcement wording? i am having a beach themed wedding in april. i have made a guest list, but am not sure on about 10-15 people (i am inviting them, would like them to come, but dont think they will. they will say yes to my face, but not really show) i am on a tight budget ($5000) and want to know exactly how many people will show so i know how much food, chair, favors, etc. to get/make. i am going to send out announcements now so that i can get an idea of how many people will be there. my question is... so, what kind of wording should i put on my announcemts to let them know that i NEED to know if they will come? i dont want to sound hateful, but i also dont want to spend $100 per person for someone who wont be there. FOR ALL THE RUDE PEOPLE...I AM ALREADY MAKING MY OWN CENTERPIECES, GIFTS, ETC. MY BOYFRIENDS FRIEND IS IN CULINARY SCHOOL, AND HE WILL BE DOING THE COOKING. BUT, I DONT WANT TO BUY FOOD FOR 120 PEOPLE AND HAVE 80 SHOW UP. ALSO, I DONT WANT TO RENT AND SET CHAIRS UP FOR 120 AND ONLY HAVE 80 SHOW...I THINK THAT IT WILL LOOK TACKY WITH 40 EMPTY CHAIRS.
