wedding invitation ideas? I am designing my own wedding invitations, but I need some help. I want the invitations to reflect our theme- the beach. I have found a beautiful set of invitations I would like (Island Dreams from Destination Romance by Dawn), but they cost more than I prefer to spend (our wedding is going to cost less than a third of the average wedding cost now a days). I'm trying to keep the cost at around $75 or less (I have already bought a set of 100 blank invitations w/ envelopes for $20). I would love to have thermography, but not sure how much its going to cost. I would be happy just printing the wording off of my own printer, but I would like an ocean/ beach picture. Does any one know where I could get free pictures that would still look classy enough to be on a wedding invitation? Any other ideas?

Wedding Invite RSVP's: Do i print my address on the RSVP envelope for the guest? Or leave it blank? I am in the middle of planning my wedding, and i am moving onto the next task: addressing the invitations. My question is...for the rsvp envelopes that guests will be sending back to us, do i write out my address onto the rsvp envelope for the guest or leave it blank? I ask for the sake of proper wedding etiquette. Or does it not really matter? (i actually hope it doesn't really matter for the sake of saving me all that handwriting!)
Where can I find wedding shower invitations for a casual party? My best friend (800 miles away) wants a backyard barbecue style party for her bridal shower. It's being held at her mom's house (technically unacceptable, but her sisters [maid of honor and bridesmaid 1] live there) and I'm in charge of invitations. Is it okay to have fill-in-the-blank invitations? Where can I find invitations that fit the bridal shower plans without indicating the guests dress up. We plan on having volleyball and yard games as activities. I'm a little hesitant to make my own; she's already looking for a design for me to make the jewelry for the wedding party. I'm also artistically incompetent.

Re: Response Cards for My Upcoming Wedding? Hello everyone, I'm a current bride-to-be looking to buy response cards to send out along with our wedding invitations in the coming months that include multiple blanks for the number of attendees at our reception! Our caterer has requested that we notify them with an exact number of attendees....not only adults but the children as well. # of adults on the first blank # of kids ages 3-12 on the 2nd blank and... # of kids 3 and under on the 3rd blank. Can anyone tell me where to find these? I have searched everywhere & I'm just not having any luck. What should I do? Thank you so much in advance, I appreciate all of your help! =)
Wedding Inviations Innter Envelope Problem? So I'm in the process of addressing my wedding invitation envelopes. Yes, I'm totally going against etiquette and I am printing my outter envlopes...(my handwriting sucks and it looks just so much nicer using a nice font). But my problem is now with my inner envelopes. Do they have to be addressed??? Or can I just leave them blank for some peole (like the ones who do not have children, etc). I have done enough looking online for the etiquette on addressing, but can't seem to find anything that they must/or really should be addressed. Thanks!
Wedding response cards? I received my wedding invitations and response/reply cards, which I ordered online. The response cards are folded with the "Please respond by.... entree choices" etc. printed on top and the inside of the folded card blank. Is the inside blank so that people can write notes inside when they rsvp, like "looking forward to it" or "I'm allergic to shellfish?" Just curious because I've never done this befroe and I thought it looked odd! Excuse me, "Southern Belle", you're not so polite yourself! I'm not complaining, just trying to follow proper etiquette here so I don't mail things out to people that are wrong or incomplete.
Is it common for people to not get the point of the postage paid wedding RSVP? I just don't get it, people: invitations were mailed out with nice custom designed postcards that had a BIG SPACE for the name to be filled in by the guest. I've had many come back without the name filled in...even one or two mailed COMPLETELY BLANK (no name, no meal selection, no unable to attend marked - nothing). My boss even came to me and said, I don't see where to fill in the name...I said, you mean, the big space under the word "NAME:" ? What is the deal here? Why can't people take a few moments of their time to read over something, fill it out correctly, and drop it in the mail in a timely fashion? My boss and another coworker handed me their postage paid postcards rather than mail them. I'd already paid for the postage and made the effort to mail them their invitations, they couldn't mail back the RSVP? There's a post office right by our work! If I wanted to save a lot of money I'd have hand delivered their invites...or heck, used company email! :( ...let me re-read what I wrote...where did I call my guests idiots? This isn't even about etiquette so much as common sense. Unfortunately I didn't know this was going to be a problem until after the invitations went out - only then somehow did I read the article in the bridal magazine that foretold of my woe. How it never came up before in all my reading...*sigh*...I don't know. Or apparently my bad karma is coming around, if you believe some people's responses. So anyway....if there are other brides reading this, please learn from my mistake and either put the names on for people, or number the RSVP cards and have a corresponding list of names with those numbers. And thanks to everyone else for letting me vent. Weddings sure are difficult and stressful...I never appreciated what the families went thru in weddings I attended in my younger days. Guess that's my karma coming back on me, eh?
Help with wedding theme!!!? So my sister is getting married and chose red poppies as her theme. I'm her maid of honor and pretty much her planner. She ordered these invitations (http://www.whiteaisle.com/poppy_invitation.html) with the font brown and the poppies red. However, the color scheme my sister is interested is full of BRIGHT colors...greens, oranges, pinks and such. How can I tie the red poppies theme into the bright colors of her wedding??? I'm coming up with a blank! Poppies are very classy but her color scheme is so fun! PLEASE HELP! Any idea would be great!!! THANK YOU!!! Sorry the link didn't work... http://www.whiteaisle.com/poppy_invitation.html

I want to make and print my own invitations...Good online stationary store? I'm planning a wedding on a budget and I want to put together my own invitations. I've seen stationary stalls at markets where you'd buy so many blank coloured cards and then you'd attach to them these see-through paper sheets with ribbon and the addresses and info you would print on these see-through sheets. I don't want them ready printed because I'm going to have to have them in two different languages and I reckon the printing is a big part of the cost. I really want to print them out at home or at my friends store, and then assemble them at home. I just need a good online store to buy all the blank cards and those see-through sheet things and the envelopes. Can't go to the markets, live in a really small town now. :) xxx
Any ideas for invitations? To save costs we bought blank ivory invitations from Michael's. The wedding will be teal and lime. My dress is ivory and my fiance will also wear ivory under his black tux. Does anyone have an ideas how to incorporate teal and lime into invitations that we plan to make ourselves? Or any cool designs/ideas? Thanks!
Appropriate invitation wording for public ceremony, dessert reception & family celebration (reception)? I'm assisting a friend with her wedding plans. It is the desire of the bride & groom to have a public ceremony with a dessert reception immediately following. A few hours later, they would like to have a celebration dinner with family and a few close friends at a banquet hall (approximately 75 guests). I am drawing a blank as to how to best word the communication for the family and friends invited to attend the celebration dinner?
Need help with decorating invitations?!? I am making my own wedding invitations, because I have a small budget. I got a pack of 50 blank cards and envelopes on sale for $4 (they're white). How could I spruce them up? My wedding colors are white, dark brown, and dark green (going for a more natural outdoorsy feel!) I don't want them to look too cheap, and I don't want to spend another $30 making them look too extravagent for a simple wedding, you know? Any advice on how to decorate/spruce them up is appreciated!

MJS are the initals if someone wants to play with it.... or at least some good font ideas for me to look at??? anything at this point. lol, i know its mean to ask for something for free, but you can always add it to your portfolio right??? i've done sooo much work for free, i dont really see it as a big deal anymore. bad businessing skills. lol and yeah, i'd have no problem matting your work if you came up with some ideas for me to play around with :)
Birthday ..It haunts me !? A long time ago I tried to impress a girl whom I met for a few days, but everything ended after i did something which made her loose complete faith in me. From time to time she would send me taunting silly emails reminding me of blunder, my replies were always cordial formal and as diplomatic as they could be. We ended up working for two firms in the same business which interact with each other on a regular basic, so unfortunately we meet from time to time at work related functions. .She met a handsome successful guy married him and send me a blank invitation card , introduced him to me at a function and enjoyed my discomfort tremendously. After her wedding the tone in her emails changed to joy and happiness and she wanted me to settle down too, but I've remained single as I'm concentrating on my career. Two years ago I stumbled upon the fact that both of us are born on the same day ,which blew my mind away Words cannot describe how I felt most of it pain and sadness ........ So what do I do with this news ..do I tell her straight on her face, or do I live it it in my mind for the rest of my life ?
Do you put "and guest" on an invitation? This is mainly a curiosity question: When I got married, we only invited the girl/boyfriend of people that had been dating exclusively and were in a dedicated relationship. In our case, we didn't want some of the single people we knew(who had sketchy social circles) to bring their *blank* of the week. Plus, we didn't want to foot the bill for that person. When my friend got married, he did include "and guest", and there were no big problems. I suppose it works either way, but I am curious as to what other people think about it. A funny side story: I have a cousin that wouldn't go to my sister's wedding because she didn't put "and guest. He was mad that he couldn't bring his married girlfriend. But, it didn't matter because he was looking for any excuse to not attend.
How should we manage guests who invite guests? My fiancee and I sent out invitations for our upcoming wedding, reception, and dance. We had addressed the invitations like this: "Mr. John Smith and family" and asked the guests to check, on the RSVP, "will attend" or "not able to attend" and we left a blank next to "number attending." We're now receiving the completed RSVPs back and are surprised to find some people who only have two or three people in their household saying that their party will include six or even ten people! We'd be happy to have our friends and relatives celebrate our wedding day with us, but we really aren't sure we'll be able to afford to feed the guests of the guests whom we've invited. Weddings and wedding receptions are expenisve enough! What would be the proper way to handle this situation? We don't want to seem rude or offend any of our guests. Thank you for your help.
RSVP's????? I knew that RSVP's would be an issue when I was making my invitations. At my brother's wedding a lot of people who were not invited to bring guests showed up and brought guests anyway. So, on the response card at the bottom I wrote : The favor of a reply is requested by September 15th M__________________________________ _____ of _____ guests will attend and I filled in the number of guests that were invited in the second blank. I thought my bases would be covered because it clearly says how many guests are invited. However, a couple of the family member who I knew would be an issue just wrote in all of the names on the response card of the people they want to bring (one put Mr. and Mrs. Smith and family, referring to five people when only the adults were invited) and didn't fill in the first blank! Do I have to call these people to let them know that only the adults were invited? Isn't it obvious by the ___ of _2_ guests will attend???
