I need something cheap for the wedding favor so i was thinking about putting hershey kisses and hugs and dove promise bars wrapped in tulle with a ribbin and tag that says something like ... A good marriage starts with a hug a kiss and a promise. Is this cheesy? What are some other cheap ideas?

Wedding Favor? I am planning on a fall wedding with colors being mocha brown, chocolate brown, claret(deep red), champagne, and a white/cream/ivory color(haven't decided which but probably cream). I have been trying to figure out favors. So far fiance and I have come up with 3 different ideas. The thing about them is that each would significantly impact the type of wedding we will have; formal, family oriented, or fun/easy-going. Personally, I don't really care which type of wedding I have which is why we are letting the favors decide. So the three are: 1) Little bottles of olive oil, which would be more formal and lend to a wine-esque theme 2) Jars of homemade jam of some form which would make for a family, home-like atmosphere, more seasonal/possibly paired with dried flowers?? 3) Homemade gourmet candy apples which would definitely make the wedding more fun, also more seasonal Kids will be attending, so maybe one of the first two for adults and the apples for kids. If you were the guest which one? Just to add, candy apples would be bagged and given out at the end of the reception so no messy kids(at least not in dress clothes lol)!

Godiva Wedding Favor? Okay so I have been wishy washy with what I want to do as a wedding favor. I think I have made up my mind. I would love to give chocolate truffles as a favor. I thought about Godiva, but just went on their site and saw their favors starting at $3.75 (this is prepackaged). Has anyone ever seen Godiva chocolates packaged in anything but the Godiva boxes? Wedding favor etiquette? I am having a very very small wedding (family only) and mostly everyone attending is a couple, except 3 siblings and one teen age kid of my cousin. Do I get favors for each individual person, or get them per couple plus ones for the individuals. I wanted to get practical favors, so couples really wouldn't need 2. For example, I am having a wine theme at my small intimate reception, and I wanted to get wine glass candles and corkscrews as favors, and most people have a corkscrew--one can come in handy if you can't find the one you already have--but who needs 2 extra ones?? Candles I figure will get used, and if they're the type who don't burn candles, they'll do something else with them or give them away later. So do I buy one candle and corkscrew per couple and individual guest, or one favor per person no matter whether they are individual or part of a couple? Mind you--these are family, too, so it's not like people will be "talking" or judging me or anything like that. To clarify, the favors I want to get are wine-glass-candles (wine glasses with gel candle in them that looks like red wine), and corkscrews. Not wine glasses, candles, and corkscrews. But the question is not WHAT to get as favors, but do I give everyone one, or use one for couples, and of course give single guests their own?

Wedding Favor Help!? I am doing Favor boxes with favor candies inside for our wedding Our colours are Black/White and a little bit of Lavender I think I am going to do White 2 peice boxes with a thick llllavender coloured ribbon and a thin white coloured ribbon or Black 2 peice boxes with the same ribbon or vice versa.. and a little square gem glued in the centre on top for elegance. Donation for wedding favor? Would you be offended or think it was tacky if as a wedding favor, the couple donated money to a charity in honor of their guests? This particular charity is one near and dear to my heart (a mission organization in Peru that I have been on three trips with), and many of our guests will have been there as well. We were thinking of printing something like, "We have made a donation in honor of our guests to XXX. Please plant the paper flower in your yard. Wherever you plant it wildflowers will grow, reminding you of the seeds that were planted today, both here as we made our vows and across the globe in Peru. Thank you for being a part of our special day." Then we would have our name and the date. The flower on the front of the card would be made out of special seed paper. My mom says this is tacky. Thoughts? We are not asking them to give money. We are giving the donation in place of the wedding favor (like a candle or mints or whatever). We would also give candy or something in addition... nowhere on the card would it say "in lieu of a favor..."

Can I bring wine as a Wedding Favor? Here's the deal. My Hotel where we are having the reception has very bad wine at very expensive prices. What do you think of this for a wedding favor? I was thinking of buying some bags of Hershey's kisses (maybe some with red and silver wrappers that will go on clearance after Valentine's Day to match my wedding colors), wrapping them up in a circle of tulle (which I have seen sold at Target and Michael's), and tying a red piece of ribbon around the top to keep it closed. It would look like a little tulle bag with the excess frilly tulle at the top above the red ribbon. I haven't been to a wedding since I was very young, so I don't know what is typical for a favor. Does this sound too cheap-looking, or is it ok? Does anyone have any other ideas?
